I haven’t made handmade items in a long time, but today I’m excited to try again. I’m attempting to create a bicycle out of a coconut shell, which will serve as a decorative piece.
Let’s begin! I’m using a small coconut to make the wheels. First, I need to remove the outer layer, as coconuts are full of fiber. It’s important to clear this out thoroughly.
Once I have a clean coconut shell, I’m shaping it into a round form. I’ll use sandpaper to smooth the surface and make it shiny, although I still need to cut it.
Now, I’m using a small saw to cut the coconut in half, creating two rings that will serve as wheels. I’m also preparing an angle for the seat and other components. After this, I’ll sand both the inner and outer sides of the shells to ensure they’re shiny and smooth.
Next, I’m working on the body and frame of the bicycle. I’m using coconut branches, which are excellent for crafting due to their small size. I’ll measure and cut these branches to the appropriate size, then polish them with sandpaper to enhance their color and shine.
Now it’s time to assemble everything! I’m starting with the wheels, as shown in the video. I’m using a glue gun to attach all the parts. This process is simple yet challenging because I’m working with small branches while assembling the frame and wheels.
After that, I’ll apply a shiny varnish, which is crucial for wood-related projects. The varnish enhances the deep color of the coconut shell and branches without altering it, adding a beautiful shine. I’ll use a cotton bird to polish everything as I go.

Handmade items are very beautiful, and in Bangladesh, they are in high demand. When you go to buy any handmade item, you often have to pay a significant amount. They can be quite difficult to find.
In our country, you can find handicrafts in big shopping malls and other shopping centers, but they are often too costly for average people. So, it’s a great idea to make these items yourself. This way, you can create something beautiful and save money. You can learn how to make them from YouTube and other resources. It may be challenging at first, but with practice, it will become much easier.
If you try to make something and you fail, it doesn't really matter because the important thing is that you're trying. The more you try, the closer you get to success. For me, I’ve tried many times, and I think my first attempt turned out quite well.
My next project is to make a scooty bike from coconut shells. I believe it will look good, and I’m confident I can make it properly because I have a lot of ideas now. After making the bicycle, I feel much more comfortable and confident that I can create anything with coconut shells.
