Los routers TP-LINK son uno de los dispositivos más vendidos y por ende populares en los hogares que cuentan con internet. Podría decirse que es la marca más vendida, por lo menos en Venezuela.
A pesar de existir otras marcas que recién llegan al país, es muy común conseguir este modelo de TP-LINK aún funcionando.

TP-LINK routers are one of the best selling devices and therefore popular in homes that have internet. It could be said that it is the most sold brand, at least in Venezuela.
Although there are other brands that have recently arrived in the country, it is very common to find this TP-LINK model still working.
Resulta que son equipos que tienen una tasa de durabilidad alta, por ejemplo este que hoy llega a mi mesa de trabajo, la clienta señala que lo tiene hace más de 8 años.
Es el modelo TL-WR841N de 150 mbps, en la actualidad parecerá obsoleto, pero para la clienta es su mejor aliado, ya que cuenta con un pequeño negocio y le suministra el internet para operar sus dispositivos de pago, como puntos de venta y biopagos.
Cuando su equipo empezó a fallar, me dijo que de momento perdía el internet, a veces desaparecía la señal WiFi, después empezó a desaparecer la conectividad del cable de red.
Hasta que llegó el momento en que solo aparecía la señal WiFi,no se detectaba la conexión Ethernet, y no había presencia de internet.

Así que me llamó para que le hiciera un cheque en su negocio, para descartar problemas provenientes del servicio de internet CANTV, procuro llevar uno de mis módem router, este dispositivo lo utilizo para descarta esa falla, si mi dispositivo no detecta internet, entonces el problema proviene de la empresa de servicio, pero si por el contrario detecta internet, el problema está en el dispositivo.
En efecto, mi dispositivo detectó internet, así que me llevé su router y dejé el mío conectado para que trabajará en su negocio mientras reparaba el suyo. Así atiendo a mis fieles clientes.
Al colocar el router en mi mesa de trabajo, lo destape y me fijé que en algún momento ya lo habían reparado.
Claramente se veía un capacitor conectado por medio de unos cables. Inmediatamente retiro los cables y hago una medición con el capacimetro.
Tenía 32 UF, cuando el capacitor es de 470 UF, aquí tenía una de las posibles causas de la falla.

Como el router solo trae 2 capacitores electrolíticos, decidí sacar el segundo para asegurarme que estuviese en buen estado.
Al medirlo obtuve 404 UF de 470, así que preferí retirarlo y colocar uno nuevo.
De esta forma estaría seguro de que el dispositivo dure unos 8 años más jaja.
As the router only comes with 2 electrolytic capacitors, I decided to remove the second one to make sure it was in good condition.
When I measured it I got 404 UF out of 470, so I preferred to remove it and put a new one.
This way I would be sure that the device would last about 8 more years haha.
He reemplazado los dos capacitores y colocado unos nuevos, además, he eliminado la conexión por medio de esos cables hacen perder la estética en el circuito.

Conecté el router a mi pc por medios cable de red, como verán, allí se muestra en pantalla que se detectó una nueva red.
Quiere decir que ya el diapo está funcionando correctamente.

Sin duda alguna, este dispositivo seguirá trabajando por muchos años más. Considero que los dispositivos que trabajan con internet son uno de los que más sufren averías, sobre todo por el uso continuo y el calor que generan en su interior.
Ahora puedes saber que sí tú router TP-LINK, después de varios años de funcionamiento, dejó de suministrar internet, o de detectar el cable de red, es muy probable que sea a causa de estos dos Capacitores que acabamos de cambiar.
