Hello hiveDiy community i hope i find you all well in today's do it yourself chapter i am going to be sharing with you all how i did my hair texlaxing successfully after being natural for 5 years.
Topics like this have become a lot more controversial over the years with conflicting opinions of individual of the internet sharing notions and thoughts to the best of their knowledge, i wanted to share s little history of my hair type and journey, growing up i used to have relaxed hair(chemically processed hair ) which where done by hair stylist i would visit wiht my mother, it was about 5 years ago i decided to grow out my natural 4C hair roots and cut of all the relaxed part after about 5 months. i was excited to start my natural hair journey.
I kept my natrural hair in with all the struggles and beauty , it wasn't the end of this past year i decided to texlaxed my hair, this process is call texturising because you do not use a full blown chemical creme which makes the hair straight completely, a texturizing creme still keeps your curly hair but it makes it a lot looser and easier to manage for a 4c hair type which is usually thightens curls texture
Today i show you how i id my own texturizing at home successful and achieved the result i wanted
Products Used
ORs Texturizing kit ( this kit comes with a texturising creme type A and B, s neautralizing shampoo sachet, conditioner sachet, moisturising lotion sachet, nylon gloves, mixing popsicle sticks and instructional writing for the process
Some other products i used where vaseline to protect my edges while i applied the creme
Claw clips to secure section of my hair after parting
Leave in hair lotion
wide tooth comb
fine tooth comeb
Step by step Process
Mixing the texturizer, i cut open the creme and mix the type a and type b together using the popsicle stick
Taking a rat tail like comb i section my hair into 4 security each parts with claw clips
I then put on the gloves, scooping a handful and applying it to the section of my hair
after each section is coated with the creme
i go in with a wider tooth comb to comb out each section, this is to allow the creme to penetrate better into the hair, for tougher hair type the page had instructed to take 13 minutes with application and rinse of immediately which i had done.
after combing i went into the shower and rinsed of the creme and used the neutralising shampoo thereafter, this neutralises the chemical in the hair , and then i rinsed the hair clean.
After washing the hair , i applied the mega growth lotion along with some other of my hair care products and left my hair to hair dry
Here is a photo of my result which is what i wanted , my coily hair is now looser and easy to manipulate.
I also took an extra step with straightening my hair with a flat iron the next day, i had gone to a hairstylist to tho this, because the iron i had at home failed on me.
Here is the final look of my hair after starigtening.
