Con una esterilla para hacer sushi y dos pares de palitos, realicé un hermoso matero para mi escritorio. El color beige de estos materiales contrastan perfecto con el verde de la planta que escogí, y que logra un look muy fresco y zen para mi escritorio, pero también muy aesthetic.
Este proyecto tenía tiempo que quería realizarlo, porque une este color hermoso que es tan natural y las plantas que tanto me encantan. Como siempre ya mis hijas me pidieron este proyecto para ellas, pero este proyecto es para mí, así que les toca esperar a que haga otros. Se me ocurre que es un excelente souvenir para obsequiar y hasta para vender, porque creo que a todos nos gusta este tipo de detalles.
With a sushi mat and two pairs of sticks, I made a beautiful mat for my desk. The beige color of these materials contrasts perfectly with the green of the plant I chose, which gives a very fresh and zen look to my desk, but also very aesthetic.
I wanted to do this project for a long time, because it unites this beautiful color that is so natural and the plants that I love so much. As always, my daughters asked me to make this project for them, but this project is for me, so they have to wait for me to make others. It occurs to me that it is an excellent souvenir to give as a gift and even to sell, because I think we all like this kind of details.

Primero quiero contarte que esta esterilla de preparar sushi, la compré en el supermercado de siempre, es muy económica, y viene en un solo tamaño. El material es muy suave, y podré cortarlo fácilmente.
First I want to tell you that I bought this sushi preparation mat at the usual supermarket, it is very economical, and it comes in one size. The material is very soft, and I will be able to cut it easily.
La planta que tengo disponible para este proyecto, es muy pequeña, entonces con la base de una botella plástica de refresco es más que suficiente. Además no requiere de tanto riego, con solo estar pendiente de unas gotitas de agua será bien para ella.
De la botella de refresco solo usaré el fondo o base, la cual recorté con una tijera. Y tomé la medida, simplemente observando donde queda su altura. Como pueden ver la esterilla no abarca todo el alrededor de la base de plástico, de manera que tendré que hacer dos tiras para empatarlas.
The plant I have available for this project is very small, so the base of a plastic soda bottle is more than enough. Besides, it doesn't require much watering, just a few drops of water will be fine for it.
From the soda bottle I will only use the bottom or base, which I cut out with a scissors. And I took the measurement, simply observing where its height is. As you can see the mat does not go all the way around the plastic base, so I will have to make two strips to match them.
Las costuras de las esterillas sirven de referencia, para que ambas tiras queden iguales. Necesitaré tener dos tiras del mismo ancho, y como les mencioné se cortan con la tijera muy fácilmente.
The seams of the mats serve as a reference, so that both strips are the same. I will need to have two strips of the same width, and as I mentioned, they can be cut with scissors very easily.
Con la pistola de silicón caliente procedo a pegar ambas tiras de forma consecutiva, alrededor de la base plástica. Ambos materiales se pegan muy bien. Y con la tijera corto el excedente de material.
With the hot silicone gun I proceed to glue both strips consecutively, around the plastic base. Both materials stick very well. And with the scissors I cut the excess material.
Este es el resultado de haber forrado todo el contorno del envase, con las dos tiras de esterilla para preparar sushi.

Ahora voy a usar los dos pares de palitos para comer sushi, para que cumplan la función de patas del matero.
Decido la altura que voy a querer el matero, y considerando que sobresalgan un poco en la parte de arriba, por un tema de diseño, ya que me parece que se ve más bonito. Entonces, corto con una tijera los cuatros palitos o patas.
Now I'm going to use the two pairs of sushi sticks to serve as the legs of the matero.
I decide the height that I want the matero to be, and considering that they protrude a little at the top, for design reasons, since I think it looks prettier. Then, I cut with a scissors the four sticks or legs.
En cuatro puntos equidistantes pego las cuatro patas de mi matero, usando la pistola de silicón caliente para ello, y considerando que queden además con la misma altura para que tenga mucha estabilidad.
In four equidistant points I glue the four legs of my matero, using the hot silicone gun for it, and considering that they are also with the same height so that it has a lot of stability.
Y así de fácil y rápido tenemos este lindo y aesthetic matero para que decore nuestro escritorio o cualquier otro lugar. Solo queda colocar nuestra plata y un poquito de tierra, para ya poder disfrutarlo.
And so easy and fast we have this nice and aesthetic pot to decorate our desk or any other place. We just need to place our silver and a little bit of soil, and then we can enjoy it.

Hoy mientras escuchaba el programa de Discord de La Colmena realicé este proyecto, fue muy inspirador toda la conversa y fue agradable trabajar mientras los escuchaba y participaba. No pude presentar ninguna Publicación, porque no la tenía lista, pero pude aprender mucho de sus consejos y retroalimentación con nosotros.
Mi matero ya está en mi escritorio, estoy muy feliz con el resultado.
Today while listening to the Discord program of The Hive I did this project, it was very inspiring all the conversation and it was nice to work while listening and participating. I couldn't submit any Publication, because I didn't have it ready, but I could learn a lot from your advice and feedback with us.
My matero is already on my desk, I am very happy with the result.
