Today I'm bringing you a DIY project that is a true tribute to the noble Ujurak Elder tribe of Splinterlands. I've created this Ujurak Elder Collection, a functional and stylish set that includes:
- Multipurpose bag
- Handle with hook so you can hang it anywhere, or use it independently as a keychain.
- Mini purse for your smallest treasures.
Inspiration came naturally, appreciating the color palette of the Splinterlands characters, which are simply gorgeous. Ujurak Elder, with its blue, gray, and gold, is a perfect combination, which I wanted to recreate, and I found the ideal materials for this. I confess I was surprised by how good these colors look. Ujurak Elder's art is truly beautiful.
Hoy les traigo un proyecto DIY que es un verdadero tributo a la noble tribu Ujurak Elder, de Splinterlands. He creado esta Colección Ujurak Elder, un set funcional y lleno de estilo que incluye:
- Bolso multiusos
- Asa con gancho para que lo cuelgues donde quieras, o usarlo independiente como Llavero.
- Mini monedero para tus tesoros más pequeños.
La inspiración llegó sola, apreciando la paleta de colores de los personajes de Splinterlands, que son simplemente preciosas. Ujurak Elder con su azul, gris y dorado, una combinación perfecta, que quise recrear y conseguí los materiales ideales para esto, y les confieso que me sorprendí lo bien que lucen estos colores, Ujurak Elder cuenta con un arte realmente precioso.
I really enjoyed this project, especially because I'm not exactly good with color combinations, but the Ujurak Elder character did the work for me because she has a truly beautiful color palette. I searched through my box of materials and found the blue I needed. I used a silver faux leather I'd had for years, and this was the perfect excuse to use it. Everything looks even more beautiful in person, and I'm so happy.
Este proyecto lo disfruté muchísimo, sobre todo porque precisamente no soy muy buena con las combinaciones de colores, pero el personaje de Ujurak Elder hizo este trabajo por mí, porque tiene una paleta de colores realmente hermosa. Estuve buscando entre mi caja de materiales y conseguí el azul que necesitaba, utilicé un semicuero plateado que tenía desde hace muchos años y esta fue la mejor excusa para utilizar, todo se ve más hermoso en persona, y estoy muy feliz.

From the blue faux leather inspired by Ujurak Elder's hair, eyebrows, and attire, I cut four rectangles measuring 17cm x 8cm. And from the silver faux leather inspired by the character's skin, I cut two rectangles with the same measurements.
Ujurak Elder's attire also has a brown or gold color on the sleeve trim, so this also had to be present in this collection. So, I got a suede that allows me to recreate that element and cut four strips measuring 17cm x 3cm. With these elements, I can now create the front and back of the bag.
En semicuero azul inspirado en el cabello, cejas y la indumentaria de Ujurak Elder, corté 4 rectángulos de 17cms x 8cms. Y en el semicuero plateado inspirado en la piel del personaje, corté 2 rectángulos con las mismas medidas.
En la indumentaria de Ujurak Elder también tiene el color marrón o dorado en el borde de las mangas, así que esto también debía estar presente en esta colección, por lo que conseguí una gamuza que me permite recrear ese elemento, corté 4 tiras de 17cms x 3cms. Con estos elementos ya podré formar la parte del bolso delantera y posterior.
To start, I folded the suede strip and sewed it to one of the silver pieces. Then, placing right sides together, I also sewed a blue piece.
Para comenzar, doblé la tira de gamuza y la cosí a una de las piezas plateadas. Luego colocando derecho con derecho cosí también una pieza azul.

When I open the pieces right side up, you can see the design I envisioned. At the other end of the silver piece, I repeat with another strip of suede and another blue piece; and then I repeat everything so that the front and back of the bag will be identical, according to my design.
Al abrir las piezas por el derecho, ya se puede ver el diseño que pensé. En el otro extremo de la pieza plateada repito con otra tira de gamuza y otra pieza azul; y luego repito todo para ya tener el delantero y posterior del bolso, que de acuerdo a mi diseño serán iguales.

I cut a zipper the width of the pieces.
I place one of the zipper pieces right side up and sew.
I cut a rectangle of the same size from the lining fabric.
I place it on the back of the zipper to sew.
Corté un cierre del ancho de las piezas.
Ubico derecho de una de las piezas con derecho del cierre y paso costura.
Corto en tela de forro un rectángulo del mismo tamaño.
Ubico sobre el reverso del cierre para coser.

I secure everything with pressure clips to keep it in place. I sew straight.
When we open the finished pieces, we can see that both the exterior and interior of the piece have seams tucked in, so it looks good on both sides.
Aseguro todo con clips de presión para que no se mueva. Paso costura recta.
Al abrir las piezas listas podemos notar que tanto el exterior como el interior de la pieza, tienen guardadas las costuras, de manera que se verá bien por ambos lados.

I repeat everything on the other piece with the zipper and lining.
Everything should also be neat, both inside and out.
I insert the zipper.
I open the pieces, joining the lining to the lining, and the outer parts right sides together, and I prepare to sew.
Repito todo en la otra pieza con el cierre y el forro.
Igualmente todo debe quedar prolijo, tanto por dentro como por fuera.
Introduzco el cierre.
Abro las piezas juntando forro con forro, y las partes externas derecho con derecho todo, y me preparo para cerrar.

Using a strip of suede, I'll form a ring for the bag, sew it, fold it, and place it inside the bag.
I sew around the entire bag, leaving a gap of approximately 8 cm. This gap will be used to turn the finished piece inside out.
At the corners, I mark 3 cm x 3 cm, then remove it with scissors.
Con una tira de gamuza, formaré un aro para el bolso, la coso, doblo y ubico dentro del bolso.
Paso costura alrededor de todo el bolso, DEJANDO UN ESPACIO LIBRE SIN COSTURA de aproximadamente 8cms. Este espacio libre servirá para voltear la pieza terminada.En las esquinas marcamos 3cms x 3cms en las esquinas, retiramos con tijera.

We open the cuts to sew them with a straight seam.
Now we turn this bag inside out through the opening in the lining, which we left unstitched.
Abrimos lo que cortamos para coser con costura recta.
Ahora si procedemos a voltear este bolso por la apertura en el forro, que dejamos sin coser.

With the piece turned inside out, sew the lining opening with a straight seam.
To make the handle, I cut a 4cm x 35cm rectangle.
I insert this strip into the silver hook.
Join the right ends together and sew with a straight seam.
Con la pieza volteada, cosemos la apertura del forro con costura recta.
Para hacer el asa, corté un rectángulo de 4cms x 35cms.
Introduzco esa tira en el gancho plateado.
Uno los extremos derecho con derecho y paso costura recta.

With the sewn piece, we'll have a circle. Fold it like bias tape to form a strip, then sew with a straight stitch.
Sew a saddle stitch near the hook.
Con la pieza cosida tendremos una circunferencia. Doblamos como si fuese una cinta al bies, para formar una tira, coso con costura recta.
Paso una costura de asiento cerca del gancho.

As you can see below, the hook can be attached to the suede loop I sewn onto the bag.
This loop makes it easy to carry the bag without any discomfort; we simply slide the loop over our hand to carry it comfortably.
If you prefer, this loop can also be used as a separate keychain.
Como pueden ver a continuación, el gancho se puede colocar en el aro de gamuza que cosí en el bolso.
Esta asa facilita poder llevar el bolso sin molestias, solo metemos el asa en nuestra mano para llevarlo cómodamente.Si es tu gusto, ESTA ASA TAMBIÉN LA PUEDE UTILIZAR A PARTE COMO LLAVERO.

I wanted to add another detail to this trio of items I called the UJURAK ELDER COLLECTION. It's a mini purse, which can be used to carry a flash drive or something small. I was motivated to do it because I made a really easy design.
I cut a strip measuring 8 cm x 20 cm and a strip measuring 3 cm x 20 cm.
I rounded the corners on one side of the rectangle.
I folded the other end over the piece to form the mini purse.
I sewed a straight stitch along the sides to secure.
Quise hacer otro detalle para hacer este trio de elementos a los que llamé COLECCION UJURAK ELDER, y es un mini monedero, que bien puede usar para llevar un pendrive o algo pequeño.Me motivé a hacerlo porque hice un diseño de lo más fácil.
Corté una tira de 8cms x 20cms, y una tira de 3cms x 20cms.
Redondeé las esquina de uno de los lados del rectángulo.
Doblé el otro extremo sobre la pieza, para formar el mini monedero.
Pase costura recta a los lados para fijar.

I sewed the thin strip around the mini purse, as if it were a bias tape.
La tira delgada la cosí alrededor del mini monedero, como si se tratase de un bies.

Now I added some gray snap fasteners, which I thought were ideal.
I mark where I'll place them with the punch.
I place the pair of pieces on one side of the snap fastener and press them together with the locking pliers.
Ahora coloqué unos broches de presión de color gris que me parecieron ideales.
Marco con el punzón donde los ubicaré.
Coloco el par de piezas para uno de los lados del broche, presiono con el alicate de presión.

I mark the other side of the Mini Purse where the other clasp will go and repeat the process with the pieces and the pliers.
This Mini Purse was quickly made. It's not only functional, but also adds beauty and interest to the UJURAK ELDER COLLECTION.
Marco en el otro lado del Mini Monedero donde va a ir el otro broche y repito el procedimiento con las piezas y el alicate de presión.
Así de rápido se realizó este Mini Monedero que no solo es funcional, sino que le aporta belleza e interés a la COLECCION UJURAK ELDER.

The UJURAK ELDER COLLECTION turned out beautifully. I truly feel like it's inspired by the character. I loved his color palette; the combination is totally cohesive. He's a stunning and beautiful Splinterlands character.
La COLECCION UJURAK ELDER quedó hermosa, realmente siento que está inspirado en el personaje, amé la paleta de colores de él, es totalmente coherente esa combinación. Es un personaje de Splinterlands impresionante y hermoso.
The bag can be used independently.
The handle can be used as a handle or as a keychain.
You can hang the Mini Purse to make it more interesting, or you can use it inside the bag.
El bolso se puede usar independientemente.
El asa lo puedes usar como asa o como Llavero.
El Mini Monedero lo puedes colgar para hacerlo más interesante, o lo puedes usar dentro del bolso.
