Christmas is almost over and I can't stop adding to the decorations, and I really love this time of year, its colors, the lights, and this year I decided to create certain decorative elements with my own hands. I hadn't done any crafts before, but this year I loved each one of my creations and I think that next year I will start preparing the Christmas decorations much earlier.
Today, I'm going to show you this character, which is a Gnome. It's the first time I've done it and I thought it was adorable. I'd like to make many more and with different elements accompanying it, but this will be for next year. For now, this gnome has a dessert-type foamy drink, like with whipped cream or chantilly. Now, I'll show you how I made it.
Ya está terminando la Navidad y yo no puedo detenerme sumando a la decoración, y es que realmente amo esta época, sus colores, las luces y este año me activé a crear con mis manos ciertos elementos decorativos. Anteriormente, no me había dedicado a realizar manualidades, pero este año amé cada una de mis creaciones y pienso que el próximo año comenzaré mucho antes a preparar toda la ambientación navideña.
Hoy, les muestro este personaje que es un Gnomo, es la primera vez que lo hago y me pareció adorable, quisiera hacer muchos y con diferentes elementos acompañándolo, pero esto será para el próximo año. Por ahora este gnomo tiene una bebida espumante tipo postre, como con crema batida o chantillí. Ahora sí, les muestro cómo lo realicé.

I had the Gnome Pattern from years ago, from a school project of my daughter's, and I traced it all over again.
I traced the entire silhouette of the Gnome on the skin-colored foam, just because it was the one I had the most of, but it can really be in any color, this will give it more structure or support.
Then I cut all the pieces in the corresponding color.
El Patrón del Gnomo lo tenía de hace años, de un trabajo escolar de mi hija, lo tracé todo nuevamente.
La silueta completa del Gnomo la tracé en el foami color piel, solo porque era el que tenía en mayor cantidad, pero realmente puede ser en cualquier color, esto será para darle más estructura o soporte.
Luego todas las piezas las corté en el color correspondiente.

It's all about simply cutting out the pieces. But the detail of the hat, if I want to explain better. I cut the hat twice, one in red and one in white, both in frosted foam material so that it stands out more. Then, I made equal cuts or divisions in both hats, I even did it by placing one on top of the other, this is so that they are exact and I can make the design of alternating colors in the hat, that will be seen later.
First I placed the clothes on the base, then the beard, the mustache, which are both plain white, and on top the first cut of the hat that I started with the red color for contrast. I also placed the shoes on black cardboard. This is too easy, just cut the pattern and start gluing, the biggest detail is the hat.
Todo es simplemente cortar las piezas. Pero el detalle del sombrero, si quiero explicar mejor. El sombrero lo corté dos veces, uno en rojo y otro en blanco, ambos en material foami escarchado para que destaque más. Luego, realicé cortes o divisiones iguales en ambos sombreros, incluso lo hice colocando uno sobre el otro, esto es para que queden exactos y pueda realizar el diseño de alternar colores en el sombrero, eso se verá más adelante.
Primero coloqué en la base la ropa, luego la barba, el bigote que ambos son blancos lisos, y arriba el primer corte del sombrero que empecé con el color rojo para que contraste. También coloqué los zapatos en cartulina negra. Esto es demasiado fácil, solo cortar el patrón y comenzar a pegar, el mayor detalle es el sombrero.

Here you can see that I placed the nose in skin-colored foam. These overlaps are important to give the Gnome more dimension and interest.
Now, I continued alternating the cuts of the hat that I mentioned earlier, which by cutting the two colors at the same time, allows the shape of the hat to remain intact.
Aquí pueden ver que coloqué la nariz en foami color piel. Estas superposiciones son importantes para darle más dimensión al Gnomo e interés.
Ahora sí, continué alternando los cortes del sombrero que les mencioné anteriormente, que al cortar los dos colores al mismo tiempo, permite que la forma del sombrero se mantenga íntegra.

I decided to make the dessert cup with whipped cream, I cut this red cup shape with a handle, the cream in frosted white, I glued everything. I cut half circles for the hands in skin-colored foam and glued them, on one of the hands I glued the cup.
Decidí hacerle la taza del postre con crema batida o chantillí, corté esta forma de taza roja con un asa, la crema en color blanco escarchado, pegué todo. Corté medios círculos para las manos en foami color piel y pegué, en una de las manos pegué la taza.

The small piece of metallic gold cardstock was for cutting out some small stars to highlight the design, and I glued one on the cup and four scattered on the Gnome's hat.
On the nose I painted a white line and a pink shading. On the beard and mustache I painted some lines on the edges with a blue marker.
El pequeño trozo de cartulina dorada metalizada, era para cortar unas pequeñas estrellas para destacar el diseño, y pegué una en la taza y cuatro dispersas en el sombrero del Gnomo.
En la nariz le pinté una línea blanca y un sombreado rosado. La barba y el bigote le pinte unas líneas en los bordes con marcador azul.

I wanted this Gnome to stand, so with a strip of recycled cardboard, I made a triangle to serve as a support. This is the easiest thing in the world, just fold the strip twice and place hot silicone so that it maintains its shape and in the most vertical part place hot silicone again to place the Gnome.
Este Gnomo quería que estuviese parado, así que con una tira de cartón reciclada, realicé un triángulo para que sirva de soporte, esto es lo más fácil del mundo, solo doblar dos veces la tira y colocar silicón caliente para que se mantenga su forma y en la parte más vertical colocar nuevamente silicón caliente para colocar el Gnomo.

Here you have an angle so you can see how I fixed it to the back of the Gnome, and it already has all the stability to stand upright, you don't have to place it somewhere to stand upright, since with this base we can place it anywhere, even on the table next to a lamp or something like that.
Aquí tienen un ángulo para que se aprecié como lo fijé por la parte de atrás del Gnomo, y ya tiene toda la estabilidad para que quede parado, no hay que estar ubicándolo en algún lugar para que esté parado, ya que con esta base lo podemos colocar en cualquier lugar, incluso en la mesa al lado de una lámpara o algo así.

Look how beautiful this Gnome turned out, I loved it. I wish I had started making Gnomes earlier because I imagine them carrying different objects or positions. As I told you, the pattern was from when my daughter was studying, but I loved the result of this Gnome, since now we have the frosted foam material that we didn't have before.

Vean que bello quedó este Gnomo, yo lo amé. Quisiera haber empezado a hacer Gnomos más temprano porque me lo imagino cargando diferentes objetos o posiciones. Como les dije el patrón era de cuando mi hija estudiaba, pero este Gnomo me encantó su resultado, ya que ahora tenemos el material foami escarchado que antes no teníamos.
