Today is going to be a very short post for seneca sunday. In fact, it is just one sentence:
latin | german | english |
---|---|---|
Di melius | Die Götter wissen es beser. | The gods know better. |
Seneca tells us to always think of this sentence when we don't get what we want or when something doesn't go as planned. It reminds me of the christian saying: "If something doesn't go your way, it means that God knew it wouldn't be good for you or that He has something better
planned for you."
What do you think of that? As an agnostic, I'm not really sure wether some higher power or whatever has anything planned for us or is guiding our steps (especially guiding our steps with our best interest in mind).
However, I have also experienced situations, where things didn't go as I wanted them to go (quite a lot acutally) but it later turned out that I was very forunated to not have gotten what I wanted. 😅
Anyway, wether you believe it or not, when something doesn't go your way, just say "Di melius" and get on with your day. It's better than being angry at something. 😁
