Hi! My name is Joseph Ariyo. I am an anatomist and a developing artist.
Today, I bring to you Stephenia: Inseparable Flight in the Garden. This beautiful insect flew from one place to another within the garden. I was able to take 76 comfortable pictures, out of which I published only 20.
It looked like butterflies in a romantic setup—almost as if they didn’t want to leave each other. Probably mating... who knows?
The funny thing is that these butterflies are of the same species. One must be a male and the other a female. They flew together from one place to another whenever they felt insecure.
My friend, who is a scientist, was smiling all through. He called it “butterflies on a honeymoon.”
I think we need more honeymoon butterflies—easy to capture!
But this butterfly is truly beautiful. I love it.
