Jump into our Open Beta testing for your first glance into the Pixelverse
Hello Hive! The RotP open Beta, available to all players who purchased at least a Game Dev License, is still moving along nicely. We once again have many new features released for testing. If you haven't already, join dozens of other players and be one of the first to discover the Pixelverse.

New features galore!
This is a short big list of all new updates released since our last beta progress post:
- Beta server was reset (as planned) to accommodate a major feature release.
- ✨
$PXL_BETArewards are live! Each game you release will start to generate rewards periodically. These rewards are not real tokens—they are a testing token that cannot be traded. - Games will generate ratings (a score out of 10) as well some AI-generated written reviews. Both the AI and the score generator are early phase, and some parts are purposely disabled to thwart attempts to reverse engineer the system before the game is out of beta.
- You can browse games created by other Players and interact with a Top Sellers list.
- Accessories now show an HP bar. This is part of a new mechanic that will require the maintenance and repair of these items.
- Upgrades to the audio player, including author credits. This is import because...

Beatraxx—find her on Spotify under that name as well! - Rise of the Pixels is now tracked on DappRadar!
- We have a retro style credits page now... are you on the list?
- A huge amount of minor UX/UI fixes, many based on community input.
- 📚 Outside of the game itself, we also launched a series of writing contests in collaboration with Scholar & Scribe & Dreemport. Check out the main post here for a chance to win RotP packs.

🎮 Game creation notes for Beta
Making games is the main action within Rise of the Pixels. After all, you're running a gaming studio! Equip your NFTs, choose your team, get creative with titles, and allocate resources wisely. Highly rated games will generate a positive return of $PXL tokens over time ($PXL rewards are not active in Beta!)
Because this is Beta, there are many things to keep in mind. TL;DR: game creation currently does not offer full functionality. Details:
- Part of the game rating algorithm is disabled. This means the game rating will have much higher randomness compared to the final version that will be used in the Main Game. We decided to do this because we don't want people to reverse engineer the rating system during the Beta and have an edge when the game goes live
- AI rating and reviewing is live. It's not in its full final form, and feedback is definitely appreciated.
- Reward Testing is included in this release! Games now generate
$PXL_BETA - Reminder: Game creation cost and rewards on Beta are not real so feel free to experiment. Try and break stuff too!
Beta Roadmap - Updated
The following roadmap is subject to change anytime. The main goal of the Beta phase is to include the community in the game development early on. As a result of this quick feedback loop the development team can shift priorities and re-organize features.

What should I know?
- The Beta is a way to collect community feedback and improve the game before the official release
- None of the actions performed on this Beta website have an impact of the main game. This includes (but not is limited to) opening packs and creating games
- During the Beta you can test the gameplay with a number of packs higher than the packs actually purchased on the official shop page
- All Team Members and Accessories you receive from opening packs on Beta will not be real NFTs and will not be reflected in the actual game after the official release
- The Beta environment use a fake token named $PXL_BETA. This token is not related at all with the main PXL token that will be used in the game. You cannot withdraw the $PXL_BETA token
- After joining the Beta you will receive 2x the number of packs you purchased
- If you purchase more packs after joining the Beta, hit the Accept & Join button again to see your new packs (2x) reflected in Beta
