Holo everyone! Now that the full team is back and working on the project we wanted to kick things off again with a new creature reveal.
We'd also like people to understand the amount of time and effort it takes to finalize these creatures as we're building something to last with Holozing which may be scarce in the #web3 space these days. From conception to revisions and finally to our in-house artists polishing the creatures to perfection it may take anywhere from a week to a month. The good thing is that the steps are split between many meaning that while we're waiting for a new creature to be drawn and colored we are thinking of new creatures that'll fit our project while other artists may be busy polishing previously created creatures. The step that takes the longest currently is turning these creatures into 3d which requires the original artist to also provide different angles of the creature in idle stance compared to the version we reveal here today which is usually its "pose".
The great thing about polishing these properly is that we can later on use them for different things as well such as for instance physical collection cards way down the line, where we'll also need help from the amazing artists on hive who've provided amazing background images. But more on that later!
Today we're presenting you with our first bug-type and poison-type creature and evolution.
This one is called Larvie!
Larvie will be a little tanky and attempt to slow enemies down with its moves to give it a chance to attack first as the battle goes on. With each attack, it will also be able to poison enemy creatures which will then significantly boost its damage output together with its regular attacks while it attempts to increase its defense and dodge chance.
Larvie will later on evolve into Noxic!
Noxic looks quite intimidating which may have an effect on enemy creature's status, it'll also be able to learn more poison-type moves and attempt to control the battle by prolonging it and leaving enemies slowed, poisoned, and potentially even overwhelmed.
While Noxic becomes faster in its evolved form it'll be less tanky meaning it won't have as high defense and be able to dodge attacks as easily as Larvie.
We hope you like these two new capturable creatures that are entering our roster.
With this post we also wanted to mention a few upcoming updates with the project.
We have recently sent out our first soul-bound NFT achievements to certain healers, although it doesn't reflect on the website yet and we won't be revealing what they are in this post, it was quite a milestone to generate our first non-test NFT's. We will announce what they entail shortly!
We also wanted to tackle one thing regarding funding of the project, while it's important to reward Liquidity Providers so there's volume ready for anyone wanting in or out of the project without affecting the price too much, it is important that we align a better return for those who are helping fund the project. The main way that happens currently is through Hive Power delegation which falls short in APR compared to LP.
The team has been discussing and some have been suggesting for quite a while to increase delegation and staking rewards to match liquidity provider rewards. At the same time we will also be slow-rolling out Collection rewards starting with achievements but later on as the game hits beta to adjust them based on player activity and starter sale purchases.
That's all the info we wanted to share for today but we'll be back posting more regularly shortly and keep you up to date on upcoming changes discussed above and when they'll get into effect.
A big thank you to the amazing Hive community for staying active and dedicated to our project even at times of uncertainty and radio-silence. We hope to make it up to you by having a playable beta ready soon where you can try capturing creatures and battling against other healers! Thank you!
