Happy new Month Hivers! And welcome to the month of goodness.
So I am starting this month on a clean slate, or how do they say it?. A lot of things has been bothering me for a while, did a lot of thinking and I am still not able to come up with something very tangible which I can hold onto, and in such moments, all I can hold on to is going through art pages and journals, for some reason viewing stunning arts gives me some sort of peace of mind, it brings smile to my face and makes me feel much better. So whenever things don't go as plan, I just find myself sketching or drawing any random thing that comes to my mind.
I've been staying sane with art and I can't give it up no matter how hard they try.
What's with all the pep talks? 🥹🥺
So I found myself in one of those sad moods, I couldn't look away when I bumped into that stunning fanart I came across from a user on Holozing community, I went through a few posts and articles and found this one that caught and sparked my interest.
I know some months ago I reluctantly made a post in this community when I didn't even have much idea about Hive platform as a whole, I can't remember what happened then but I know I wasn't bold enough to stay or continue on this space. Coming across that user's art again, made me remember this place existed and after checking out a few submissions, this is my version of one of the fanarts called Forest Healer. Whatever is the concept behind this healer, I think it has to do with nature seeing how it depicts nature's colour (green). Also being a lover of nature, I went for this one first and here I am with my entry of forest healer of Holozing fanart. I think it is a little similar to what I see on Splinterlands Art community, I don't know if they have much of differences but I know that Splinterlands has different cards in their market, their gaming site I guess.
Okay okay! I think I am deriving again from the main topic, lol, pardon me, it happens something. This is how I sketched my version of this healer below
Step By Step Process
Here I started with a quick hair sketch, I don't know if there is anyone that draws the hair first before the anatomy? Cause I do that sometimes haha
I used colour pencils for my sketches, note that this is not my lineart although I see some people can paint over this without any confusion and their work will still be very neat.. I've tried it once and didn't like the result or outcome, so I always come up with a neater lineart before I start my colouring
And this is my lineart, and with this it will be easier for me to fill in the base colours and paint without having rough edges and colours spilling into other layers
After getting a fine lineart, I started my colouring by filling in my base colours in the light of the original holozing fanart
The concept of those weird looking eyes is from the @Splinterlands card called Cornealus, I just wanted something to distract my background just a little bit, so I introduced those lol, I hope you didn't get distracted as well ;)
I went further to choose a background color for my art so it will pop out and help me with my further colouring, especially the dress
In this step, I painted The dress and went ahead to work on and finished the hair as well. That didn't take me long cause I have a trick for painting and drawing my hairs
I fixed the eyes and lips in this step, I love those eyes, don't you just like them too? Lol, I sure hope you do.
My final touch was on her dress, then the flower on her dress. After which I added some sparkles to my art.
This is just an extra or bonus that I really didn't consider that much. I just wanted to see what adding texture on my dress would look like, I don't know if I like it as much as I like the ordinary colouring of my dress
So what do you think?, do you like or prefer this result the more? I mean the texture dress🧐🤨🤔
What do you think? Do you like my fanart style generally? Let me know in the comments, thank you!
