Today, I want to share a very special piece that I created with a lot of love and excitement. It’s a fan art based on one of my favorite characters from the amazing world of @holozing.
This artwork is dedicated to Verdarox, the final evolution of Verdion, the grass dragon from @holozing. I was immediately drawn to her majestic and wild energy, and I couldn't resist the urge to reimagine her in an anime-inspired, humanoid female version.
As I worked on this piece, I found myself connecting deeply with the character. Her blend of strength and natural grace inspired me to explore vibrant colors, soft gradients, and bold shapes. I wanted her to feel powerful, yet elegant—a creature of the wild, reborn as a warrior in human form.

Esta ilustración está dedicada a Verdarox, la evolución final de Verdion, el dragón de hierba de @holozing. Desde que la vi, me atrapó su energía salvaje y majestuosa, y no pude resistirme a reimaginarla en una versión humanizada, femenina y con estilo anime.

Quise que transmitiera poder, pero también elegancia—una criatura salvaje renacida como una guerrera en forma humana.

Verdarox, as imagined in this fan art, has been transformed into a fierce and graceful warrior with dragon heritage. Her long flowing pink hair cascades down her back, evoking the lively essence of blooming flowers, and her antlers, shaped like twisted branches, crown her head in a regal way. Her ears are long and elven, adding a mystical flair to her appearance.
She wears a sleek bodysuit that blends shades of yellow and green, colors that reflect her nature-aligned origins. Her legs are covered in matching greenish-yellow boots that end in sharp dragon-like claws, accentuating her hybrid form. Her tail is bold and colorful—striped in yellow, blue, and pink—bringing a touch of fantasy and danger to her overall design.
I wanted every part of her to speak to her evolution: from nature, to warrior, to a symbol of strength and beauty. Her intense gaze and firm posture hint at a protective yet commanding spirit, true to her role as a powerful evolution in the Holozing universe.

Su larga cabellera rosa fluye por su espalda, evocando la esencia viva de las flores en plena floración, y sus astas, en forma de ramas retorcidas, coronan su cabeza de manera majestuosa. Sus orejas largas y puntiagudas le dan un aire místico.

Process / Proceso
The creative process began with a rough sketch. I played around with poses that would reflect her confidence and presence, finally settling on a stance that felt powerful and grounded. At this stage, I focused mostly on proportions and the overall composition, keeping the energy of the character in mind.
Once I was happy with the sketch, I moved on to the linework. This is one of my favorite parts—turning rough strokes into clean, dynamic outlines. I gave special attention to the flow of her hair, the sharpness of her claws, and the shape of her antlers to really bring out her mythical qualities.
For coloring, I selected a palette full of vitality—greens and yellows for her attire to represent her grass-type nature, and a vibrant pink for her hair to add contrast and flair. The colors not only define her look, but also highlight her dual essence: nature and strength.
Then came the shading phase. Here, I added depth and volume to her figure by using soft shadows. This step really helped emphasize the muscle tone and the curvature of her form, making her appear more three-dimensional and alive.
After the shadows, I applied highlights to add extra dynamism. Her hair received glossy streaks, and the costume got bright reflections that give it a sleek, slightly magical touch. These small details helped make the illustration pop.
Finally, I created the background—a fantasy-like field of flowers with a soft sunset gradient. I wanted the scenery to complement Verdarox’s energy without overpowering her. The warm sky and dreamy flora frame her presence perfectly.
El proceso creativo comenzó con un boceto. Jugué con varias poses que reflejaran su confianza y presencia, hasta que me decidí por una postura que se sintiera poderosa y firme. En esta etapa me concentré principalmente en las proporciones y la composición general, manteniendo siempre la energía del personaje en mente.
Una vez satisfecha con el boceto, pasé al delineado. Esta es una de mis partes favoritas—transformar trazos ásperos en líneas limpias y dinámicas. Presté especial atención al flujo de su cabello, la nitidez de sus garras y la forma de sus astas para resaltar sus cualidades míticas.
Para el coloreado, elegí una paleta llena de vitalidad—verdes y amarillos para su atuendo, representando su naturaleza tipo hierba, y un rosa vibrante para su cabello, que aporta contraste y estilo. Los colores no solo definen su apariencia, sino que también resaltan su esencia dual: naturaleza y fuerza.
Luego vino la fase de las sombras. Aquí añadí profundidad y volumen a su figura usando sombras suaves. Este paso fue clave para destacar el tono muscular y la curvatura de su cuerpo, haciendo que se viera más tridimensional y con vida.
Después de las sombras, apliqué brillos para darle más dinamismo. Su cabello recibió reflejos brillantes, y el traje, unos toques luminosos que le dan un aire elegante y ligeramente mágico. Estos pequeños detalles ayudaron a que la ilustración destacara.
Finalmente, creé el fondo—un campo de flores con un atardecer en degradado suave. Quise que el paisaje complementara la energía de Verdarox sin robarle protagonismo. El cielo cálido y la flora onírica enmarcan su presencia de manera perfecta.

Creating this artwork was a truly enriching experience. It allowed me to dive deep into character design, play with bold colors, and express my love for fantasy storytelling. Bringing Verdarox to life in my own style was both a creative challenge and a joy.
Crear esta ilustración fue una experiencia realmente enriquecedora. Me permitió sumergirme en el diseño de personajes, jugar con colores audaces y expresar mi amor por las historias de fantasía. Darle vida a Verdarox con mi propio estilo fue tanto un reto creativo como una alegría.
