As a digital artist and passionate fan of the Holozing universe, I’m Lorentm and I want to give you all a warm welcome to my blog. Today I’m beyond excited to share with you my newest digital artwork based on one of the characters from @holozing: the powerful and fierce Gemino. From the moment I imagined this piece, I knew I wanted to bring him to life in a dramatic and dynamic way. Inspired by the classic Pokémon style, I reimagined Gemino as if he were a Blastoise mid-battle, unleashing his strength with full energy.
Como artista digital y gran admiradora del universo de Holozing, soy Lorentm y quiero darles una cálida bienvenida a mi blog. Hoy estoy más que emocionada de compartir con ustedes mi más reciente obra digital basada en uno de los personajes de @holozing: el poderoso y feroz Gemino. Desde el primer momento en que imaginé esta pieza, supe que quería darle vida de una forma dramática y dinámica. Inspirada en el estilo clásico de Pokémon, reimaginé a Gemino como si fuera un Blastoise en plena batalla, desatando toda su energía.
Creating this piece was such a fun and challenging experience. Gemino has such a unique design, and translating that into anime style meant playing with exaggeration, motion, and color in just the right ways. I wanted this fan art to reflect not just his power, but also a bit of his personality—brave, proud, and unshakable.
Crear esta pieza fue una experiencia muy divertida y desafiante. Gemino tiene un diseño tan único, y traducirlo al estilo anime significó jugar con la exageración, el movimiento y el color en las proporciones justas. Quise que este fan art reflejara no solo su poder, sino también un poco de su personalidad: valiente, orgulloso e inquebrantable.
Gemino, in this version, keeps his solid, armored appearance, but I enhanced it with crystal elements on his shell to echo a more fantastical vibe. The crystals are large, jagged, and shine with intense purples and magentas—these spikes are not only a defense but a reflection of his elemental strength. His shell is thick and rugged, wrapping around his powerful body like a fortress.
Gemino, en esta versión, mantiene su apariencia sólida y acorazada, pero la realcé con elementos de cristal en su caparazón para darle un aire más fantástico. Los cristales son grandes, puntiagudos y brillan con tonos intensos de púrpura y magenta. Estas púas no solo sirven de defensa, sino que reflejan su fuerza elemental. Su caparazón es grueso y resistente, envolviendo su cuerpo poderoso como una verdadera fortaleza.
I kept his body structure muscular and compact, giving him a powerful stance, ready to charge. His claws are sharp, emphasizing his combat readiness, and his eyes are focused with fierce determination. The colors used in his body are warm and earthy, contrasting perfectly with the cool glow of the crystals.
Mantuve su estructura corporal musculosa y compacta, dándole una postura poderosa, lista para atacar. Sus garras son afiladas, enfatizando su preparación para el combate, y sus ojos están enfocados con una determinación feroz. Los colores usados en su cuerpo son cálidos y terrosos, contrastando perfectamente con el resplandor frío de los cristales.
Process / Proceso
The journey began with the sketch. I always like to start by capturing the character’s pose and emotion. In this case, I aimed for something energetic and dynamic—Gemino mid-roar, claws out, crystals bursting with light. I kept my lines loose to allow for flexibility during refining.
El proceso comenzó con el boceto. Siempre me gusta empezar capturando la pose y la emoción del personaje. En este caso, opté por algo enérgico y dinámico: Gemino rugiendo, con las garras al frente y los cristales estallando en luz. Mantengo mis líneas sueltas para permitir flexibilidad al momento de refinar.
Next came the line art. I refined the initial sketch into clean, bold lines that defined his shape and structure. This step is always satisfying because it brings clarity and order to the raw energy of the sketch, solidifying the character's form.
Después vino el delineado. Refiné el boceto inicial en líneas limpias y definidas que marcaron su forma y estructura. Este paso siempre es satisfactorio porque aporta claridad y orden a la energía bruta del boceto, solidificando la forma del personaje.
Coloring is one of my favorite stages. I chose warm yellows, oranges, and browns for his body to express his earthy power, while the crystal spikes glowed with vibrant purples. These color contrasts helped to highlight his duality: grounded and mystical.
El coloreado es una de mis etapas favoritas. Elegí tonos cálidos como amarillos, naranjas y marrones para su cuerpo, para expresar su poder terrestre, mientras que las púas de cristal brillaban con púrpuras vibrantes. Estos contrastes de color ayudaron a resaltar su dualidad: terrenal y místico.
Then came the shading. I applied deep shadows to accentuate the volume and give depth to his shell and muscles. Using light direction, I gave the impression of a spotlight coming from above, enhancing the dramatic battle feel.
Luego llegaron las sombras. Apliqué sombras profundas para acentuar el volumen y dar profundidad al caparazón y los músculos. Usando la dirección de la luz, di la impresión de un foco desde arriba, reforzando la sensación dramática de batalla.
After that, I added highlights. The crystals especially needed strong light reflections to feel sharp and magical. I used rim lighting along the edges of his body to add that glowing anime effect, giving more presence and energy.
Después agregué los brillos. Los cristales especialmente necesitaban reflejos intensos de luz para sentirse afilados y mágicos. Usé iluminación en los bordes de su cuerpo para dar ese efecto brillante de anime, añadiendo más presencia y energía.
Finally, the background. I chose a scene filled with floating crystals and action lines to enhance the intensity. The purples and pinks gave a magical, high-energy atmosphere that brought the whole composition to life.
Finalmente, el fondo. Elegí una escena llena de cristales flotantes y líneas de acción para aumentar la intensidad. Los tonos púrpuras y rosados crearon una atmósfera mágica y energética que dio vida a toda la composición.

Creating this fan art was an exciting challenge. I love combining characters I admire with stylistic elements from other worlds like anime. This piece let me explore both action and fantasy while honoring a character from the @holozing community.
