I expected something better than what you see here from my child after a statement he made this morning about his drawing skill; however, I think it's a fair try anyway. What prompted today's drawing was a discussion I had with him about the past art exhibition program they did at his school, in which he participated actively and won some gifts. I remember blogging about it in the motherhood community then.
In the middle of our discussion, my son said that he can draw anything I can think of in this world, including someone riding a bicycle, hehehehe. Seriously? I humbly asked, and he nodded in agreement. I then remember seeing lots of people unleashing their creativity in this community, and I quickly checked in and saw many amazing new creatures for him to try his hands on. He saw Zingu and the Zinguini creatures but decided to try Zingu. At home, we have just pencils ✏️ and crayons🖍️, no other art materials, but he was ready to try with the materials available.
So here we go...
He started by sketching the whole body of this creature, trying to get all the curves from the top. At first, he did something almost rubbish-looking but later corrected himself. I was only watching and capturing the stages.
Getting the arms seemed difficult for him, but he kept watching the original image several times in order to mimic the look. When it appeared challenging, he picked up a rough sheet and practiced more, then continued here when he felt he was getting the hang of it.

At this stage, he was set to work on the rest of the parts, and watching him draw them seemed easier for him as it took him less than 10 minutes to finish working on them.
He made use of different colors of crayons 🖍️ for the coloring; even though he didn't have the exact color as shown in the original image, he did made use of almost the similar colors.

I wasn't expecting him to label the name, but he did, and I like the fact that he got it almost the way it appeared on the hive.

He felt so excited at the finished job, and I think it's a fair try. Personally, I can't do up to this, hahaha, but I am ready to encourage him to do well with this skill as he continues to grow.
Thanks for your time in reading through!
