Hello Cloud Hunters and Hive Friends!
It´s time to share another cloud post from Torrox in Andalucia, Spain. If you are following my clouds journey in this community, you will notice that my most beautiful cloud formations come from this town where I live part of the year. In this post I am featuring their horizontal formations and explain as best I can how they come into their beautiful but bizzare shapes.

Es ist an der Zeit, einen weiteren Wolkenpost aus Torrox in Andalusien, Spanien, zu teilen. Wenn Du meine Wolkenreise in dieser Community verfolgst, wirst Du feststellen, dass meine schönsten Wolkenformationen aus dieser Stadt kommen, in der ich einen Teil des Jahres lebe. In diesem Beitrag zeige ich ihre horizontalen Formationen und erkläre so gut ich kann, wie sie zu ihren schönen, aber bizarren Formen kommen.
Torrox, a charming town on Spain’s Costa del Sol, is known for its pleasant climate and beautiful landscapes. Today, I am featuring formations which are very intriguing and which I consider a meteorological phenomena as I have observed them from where I live. This phenomenon, while common in various coastal regions, holds a particular significance in Torrox due to the unique geographical and climatic conditions of the area.

Torrox, ein charmantes Städtchen an der spanischen Costa del Sol, ist für sein angenehmes Klima und seine schönen Landschaften bekannt. Heute stelle ich dir Formationen vor, die sehr faszinierend sind und die ich für ein meteorologisches Phänomen halte, da ich sie von meinem Wohnort aus beobachtet habe. Dieses Phänomen ist zwar in verschiedenen Küstenregionen verbreitet, hat aber in Torrox aufgrund der einzigartigen geografischen und klimatischen Bedingungen der Region eine besondere Bedeutung.
These clouds formation is influenced by the town`s proximity to the Sierra de Almijara mountain range. The horizontal clouds in Torrox are also affected by stable weather conditions. When the air is stable, it doesn't move up and down much, leading to the formation of flat, horizontal clouds. This stability is often increased by temperature inversion layers, common in coastal areas, where a layer of warm air traps cooler air near the ground, preventing clouds from growing upwards and encouraging them to spread out horizontally instead.

Diese Wolkenbildung wird durch die Nähe der Stadt zum Gebirge Sierra de Almijara beeinflusst. Die horizontalen Wolken in Torrox werden auch durch stabile Wetterbedingungen beeinflusst. Wenn die Luft stabil ist, bewegt sie sich nicht viel auf und ab, was zur Bildung flacher, horizontaler Wolken führt. Diese Stabilität wird oft durch Temperaturinversionsschichten verstärkt, die in Küstengebieten häufig vorkommen und in denen eine Schicht warmer Luft kühlere Luft in Bodennähe einschließt, wodurch die Wolken daran gehindert werden, nach oben zu wachsen, und stattdessen eine horizontale Ausbreitung gefördert wird.
Whatever season I find myself in while staying in this beautiful town, there will always be beautiful and spectacular clouds to watch for .
