What is Arcade Colony ?

Let's start with talking about what is the arcade colony is ? Arcade Colony is a web based platform where mainstream games can deploy web3 features. But, who run it ? Well, the company behind Arcade Colony, Invennium Corp, is a subsidiary of Splinterlands, which is one of the largest web3 games with billions of games played and billions of on-chain transactions. I think we can agree that Splinterlands is the biggest game on this lovely Hive chain, right ?

What is Their Vision ?

It would be a long post for explaining their vision, but I will try to make it simple based on the points that I took from the whitepaper and some talks from the dev on the discord channel.

Arcade Colony is offers the easy way to link the Web2 games into a Web3. The coding that might took months for developers to spent can become just hours or less. Not just about bridge the Web2 into Web3, with the massive user base from Splinterlands, the developers can expect a massive exposure for their games with further partnership.

Arcade Colony have many offers for the devs, from just a directory listing, marketplace listing that allows the assets listed on Arcade Colony shop and users can buy, sell, and their assets in the Arcade Colony P2P Marketplace, reward partnership that distribute the COLONY token into the game ecosystem, and many more !

When asked about the target, here is the dev response. We can see how big the target from the dev is ! This is a great things, and hopefully they can reach those targets ! Hopefully, there will be a massive ecosystem build around the Arcade Colony.

More Devs Working On Arcade Colony

This is what I was concerned about the Arcade Colony, when I started to play the Moonkarts and GLS, is that I feel they are lack of developers that work on their project. It's seems they only have the Khan to work for everything (they might have more). For the big vision and target they want to achieve, they will need more competent developers behind, especially because they also create their own game.

But last week, the team has announced that they will working dirrectly with 3 developers. I personally think this is a great news, and hopefully the progress of development for all the games can be done faster and more precisely. It's a great to see what the dev has prioritize. And for the short term, fixing the Moonkarts bugs and launch the Moonkarts mobile is the main priority, which I think is very important to get done, because mobile apps should bring more people and before that, the major bugs should be fixed first.

Community Issues Solved

While the devs are working to fixed the bug, there is a big issues that comes to the community. It's the exploitation of the bug that hurt the community. A long drama has finally reach the good ending. Here is the statement on the discord channel.

In case you missed it, the community is ready to bring a vote about freezing the DrZoom assets for the violence he made with his schoolar, and now, it's seems the better ending would like to come. Why I think it's better ending ? Because I know that DrZoom is a passionate players that also spent a lot to help the game grow, and is willing to spent his energy and time to help the community like what He has done on the GLS by hosting the monthly tournaments. With the issues solved, everyone can be on the same track again to help the game grow into even better and bigger.

Things to Expect

From all the things that currently happens on the Arcade Colony, I think we can expect some points :
#1.Moonkarts will have the bug fixed soon, launch of mobile apps, and more players will join into the game and the arcade colony ecosystem. Have you get your Kart set to race ?
#2.More games will come soon! With more devs, we can expect the StakeHouseDen can complete their 9 games as the dev promise. And it wouldn't stopped on there, hyper-rail Blaster, and more new games hopefully will follow as well !
#3.If the mobile app of Moonkarts is succesfull, then the game developers might asked for partnership with Arcadecolony, and this mean more exposure and stronger community.
#4.Don't forget about the COLONY token, they are the heart of the Arcade Colony. You need them for the reward multiplier ! Demand will be much more higher !
#5.With more games join the platforms, more opportunity will come ! As example, if you are a schoolar, you might get the schoolarship not just about a game that you play on the Arcadecolony but also the other games, because investors are often put their money on different projects !
