Greetings to all members of this community, I'm back after a couple of weeks to share with you my tattoo adventures. I have been recovering from an injury in my right wrist and that is why I haven't been tattooing lately, in fact this injury was because I was pushing myself too hard as an engraver and with the position and the amount of detail in my work I was in excruciating pain from my wrist to my elbow.
One of my cousins is a tattoo apprentice, and a few days ago he came to visit and we were talking about our experiences l, specially how frustrating it is when you want to tattoo but none is willing because you're an apprentice. After a while, between drinks we came up with the idea to tattoo each other and started thinking of the designs. So we picked fir him a dinosaur with a party hat since we are on party season, and for me a flower vase and that would be out present exchange.
Un saludo a todos los miembros de esta comunidad, vuelvo luego de un par de semanas para compartir con ustedes mis tattoo aventuras. Había estado recuperándome de una lesión en la muñeca derecha por lo que no había vuelto a tatuar, de hecho la lesión se debe a que estaba exigiendome mucho como grabadista y entre la posición que adoptaba y lo detallado de mía trabajos he tenido un dolor que me llegaba hasta el codo.
Uno de mis primos es aprendiz de tattoo, y hace algunos días vino a mi casa a visitar y conversábamos sobre nuestras experiencias tatuando, y en especial la frustración de cuando queremos tatuar y no hay quien quiera dejarse tatuar por un aprendiz. Al cabo de un rato ya entre tragos se nos ocurrió tatuarnos el uno al otro y empezamos a idear los diseños. Así que terminamos por escoger para el un dinosaurio con gorrito de fiesta ya que estamos en tiempos de celebración, y yo un florero y ese sería nuestro pequeño intercambio de regalos.
A few days passed and we scheduled a day to hang out at my place and the first one to get tattooed was him. I had the image in several sizes until we picked the right size for the area, and I got to tattoo on him the party dinosaur.
Al cabo de unos días apartamos el tiempo libre para reunirnos nuevamente en mi casa y el primero en recibir su regalo fue mi primo. Tenía la imagen en varios tamaños hasta que decidimos el correcto para la zona, y me dispuse a plasmar en su piel su dinosaurio fiestero.
We were super uncomfortable and my wrist was still sore, so I'll probably have to fix some things here and there because I'm not very pleased with the result.
Estábamos súper incómodos y aún tengo dolor en la muñeca así que lo más probable es que en un mes tenga que retocarle algunas cosas con las que no quede del todo satisfecha.
Then it was the moment of truth and my turn to get my tattoo, but we ended up changing the design because the vase was way too detailed and he hasn't been an apprentice for too long. This design was picked by me because my daughter's name is Luna, and what is better than getting a tiny moon? So despite being an impulsive tattoo it would still hold an special meaning.
Luego llegó la hora de la verdad y fue mi turno de recibir mi tattoo, pero en ese momento cambiamos el diseño pues el florero tenía demasiados detalles y el tiene muy poco tiempo tatuando. Este diseño lo escogí ya que Luna es el nombre de mi hija, ¿y qué mejor que hacerme una pequeña lunita? Y así que pese a lo impulsivo de mi decisión tendría un significado especial para mí.
It would be placed on my arm because I'm filling up the gaps I have here and there, and since it is a small area The flower vase wouldn't look so good after all.
El lugar sería en mi brazo ya que estoy llenando espacios vacíos que tengo aquí y allá, y ya que era un espacio pequeño el florero no hubiese quedado tan bien después de todo.
So I got my tiny new moon, now that I think about it this is my third moon, he apologized for the outcome and honestly I don't care if it has crooked lines, the important thing is is moons are very meaningful to me and that it was an special moment and it is a nice reminder that we are more than cousins, we are best friends and we have an special bond. Our kids are even the same age and they are as close as siblings.
Y así tuve mi lunita nueva, ahora que lo pienso esta es la tercera luna que llevo en mi piel, el se disculpó por el resultado y la verdad no me importa si tiene algunas líneas torcidas, lo importante es que las lunas significan mucho para mí y que fue un momento especial y es un lindo recuerdo de que más que primos, somos mejores amigos y nos une un lazo muy especial. Incluso nuestros hijos tienen la misma edad y son unidos como hermanos.
