Para dejar mi participación en esta iniciativa de las fobias, quiero hablarles de algo que no comento regularmente. Desde muy pequeño padezco muchas fobias, las cuales abordaré de manera independiente, ya que todas juntas serían un desastre de miedos.
Nictofobia
El miedo intenso a la oscuridad, algo que muchas personas padecen. Yo vengo a hablarles desde mi punto de vista y cómo he logrado apartar esa fobia un poco de mí.Cuando era pequeño, siempre fui apegado a mi madre. El día que mi hermana dio a luz a su niño, mi madre me dejó solo en la casa con mi abuela. Mi abuela salía a sentarse en el frente a hablar con las amigas. Ese día hubo un apagón masivo en el país. Al haber consumido muchas cosas de fantasía, sabía que la oscuridad no era buena. En la oscuridad siempre algo malo pasa.Ese día grité y lloré dentro de mi casa a oscuras. Me arrinconé en una esquina, cerré los ojos y, llorando, comencé a temblar. Mi abuela salió corriendo y me preguntó qué me pasaba. Le dije que me daba miedo la oscuridad, y solamente me abrazó.
Al pasar los años, solo sé que, aun estando grande, siento esos escalofríos y ese miedo que me invade cada vez que estoy a oscuras. He logrado apaciguar ese miedo leyendo la Biblia y sus pasajes. Mi mente, cada que estoy en oscuridad, piensa que Dios siempre está a mi lado, siempre me acompaña. Y así es como le estoy dando solución poco a poco, sabiendo que el está conmigo y siempre me acompaña.
Ofidiofobia
Las serpientes y yo nunca hemos ligado. Esto porque cuando tenía 10 años vi la película de Anaconda. Inocente al fin, contraje un miedo a estas que aún hoy en día preservo. Cada vez que veo una serpiente me da ansiedad y ese miedo de que solo un mordisco me puede matar, o incluso me pueden llegar a tragar las más grandes. Solo de pensarlo me da fobia.
Claramente les aseguro que al lugar que menos voy cuando estoy en el zoológico es al lugar de estas. Admito que aún no he vencido este miedo. Mi compañero de cuarto y amigo es fanático de las serpientes. Un día llevó una al cuarto. Él, claro, no sabía que yo les tenía tanto miedo. Claramente ese día no dormí, porque pensaba que esta me iba a comer. Esta es otra de mis fobias que no he superado.
Monofobia
Este es un miedo menor, y creo que todos los seres humanos a lo largo de su vida lo sienten. Esa sensación de soledad, de estar solo y no tener alguien contigo. A veces se disfruta, otras no tanto. El estar solo te hace egoísta y afecta muchas veces las relaciones sociales que tenemos.El estar solo se ha vuelto algo muy popular hoy en día, pero es uno de mis miedos: estarlo. Ese sentimiento de soledad no me gusta, se siente vacío. Le he dado solución a este miedo siempre estando con personas, interactuando constantemente. Así le he dado solución a esta fobia.

To participate in this initiative about phobias, I want to talk about something I don’t usually mention. Since I was very young, I’ve suffered from many phobias, which I’ll address individually, as all of them together would be a mess of fears.
Nyctophobia
The intense fear of the dark is something many people experience. I’m here to share my perspective and how I’ve managed to distance myself a bit from this phobia.
When I was little, I was always very attached to my mother. The day my sister gave birth to her child, my mother left me home alone with my grandmother. My grandmother would go out front to chat with her friends. That day, there was a massive blackout in the country. Having consumed a lot of fantasy content, I knew darkness was never good. In the dark, something bad always happens.
That day, I screamed and cried inside my pitch-black house. I curled up in a corner, closed my eyes, and trembled as I sobbed. My grandmother came running in and asked me what was wrong. I told her I was afraid of the dark, and she just hugged me.
Over the years, even as I grew older, I still feel those chills and that overwhelming fear every time I’m in the dark. I’ve managed to calm this fear by reading the Bible and its passages. Whenever I’m in darkness, my mind reminds me that God is always by my side, always with me. And that’s how I’ve been slowly overcoming it—knowing He is with me and always accompanies me.
Ophidiophobia
Snakes and I have never gotten along. This is because when I was 10, I watched the movie Anaconda. Innocent as I was, I developed a fear of them that persists to this day. Every time I see a snake, I feel anxiety and that fear that just one bite could kill me, or the bigger ones could even swallow me whole. Just thinking about it gives me chills.
I can assure you that the last place I visit at the zoo is the snake exhibit. I admit I still haven’t overcome this fear. My roommate and friend is a snake enthusiast. One day, he brought one into our room. Of course, he didn’t know how terrified I was of them. Needless to say, I didn’t sleep that night because I kept thinking the snake would eat me. This is another phobia I haven’t conquered yet.
Monophobia
This is a lesser fear, and I think all human beings feel it at some point in their lives. That sensation of loneliness, of being alone and having no one with you. Sometimes it’s enjoyable, other times not so much. Being alone can make you selfish and often affects our social relationships.
Being alone has become very popular these days, but it’s one of my fears—experiencing it. That feeling of loneliness doesn’t sit well with me; it feels empty. I’ve tackled this fear by always being around people, constantly interacting. That’s how I’ve managed to cope with this phobia.
