Hello, friends of @holos-lotus. Today I want to talk to you about yellow people. Have you heard the term? I hadn't heard of it until a couple of days ago, when I met up with a friend for the second time. While we were talking about the latest work we were doing in our respective careers, he paused briefly, looked at me tenderly, and said, "You're definitely a yellow person."
I was a little lost, so I asked him what that meant, and he jokingly replied, "You'll have to Google it."
Since I was a little under the weather, I didn't give it much thought and continued the conversation. Later at home, when I was feeling a little better, I looked up what it meant to be a yellow person, and it brightened my afternoon.
To sum it up in a few words, we could say that yellow people are those who change your life for the better. It doesn't matter if you spend a few minutes with them or spend years with them. They manage to change something in you, teach you something, or simply embrace your soul, even without words. They may be a complete stranger you met once and you barely remember their face, but they left a mark on your life that made you a better person.
After reading a little more about yellow people, I started to think. While these kinds of comments are always received with joy, it's also useful to reflect on the causes that may have generated them.
At first, I thought maybe the reason he saw me that way was because I simply accepted him for his "very particular personality" without judging him, or that amidst all the criticism he receives daily, I was always taking the best for myself. But the truth is that, although that may possibly be one of the reasons, the way others perceive us is never based on a single criterion, and there will always be reasons so subjective that they will remain outside our own self-analysis, so it didn't make much sense to keep guessing.
My friend has an exaggeratedly extroverted, very intense personality, so even other extroverts isolate and reject him. I'm an introvert, and some of his behavior can make me feel a little uncomfortable. However, I don't complain as if he were the problem. I just explain my point of view and ask him what makes me uncomfortable. So far, taking this approach has yielded very good results, as I've managed to establish connections with people whose personalities have nothing to do with mine, and I believe that has meant growth for all of us.
We haven't had a deep bond; we've barely met in person, although we occasionally greet each other and help each other online. But that time has been enough for me to also recognize his nobility and his sensitive and empathetic personality, and I've let him know whenever we see each other. It's worth saying the light we see in others in a world that focuses on remembering the darkness.
I don't know if I'm truly a yellow person or not. I don't think all yellow people are aware of it, and maybe that's the magic. More than anything, the trick is trying to paint the little bit of the world we walk through with color, despite our gray days. Thanks to all the yellow people who accompany me here and to all those who changed my life.

Hola, amigos de @holos-lotus. Hoy quiero hablarles de las personas amarillas. ¿Habían escuchado el término? Yo no lo conocía hasta hace un par de días, cuando me reencontré con un amigo por segunda ocasión y mientras conversábamos sobre lo último que estábamos haciendo cada uno en nuestras respectivas carreras hizo una breve pausa, me miró con ternura y me dijo: definitivamente eres una persona amarilla.
Yo me quedé un poco perdida, así qué le pregunté lo que eso significaba y él, bromeando, me respondió: "te tocará googlearlo".
Como estaba algo indispuesta no le dí mucha importancia y avancé en la conversación. Luego en casa, cuando logré sentirme un poco mejor, busqué que significaba ser una persona amarilla y me alegró la tarde.
Resumiéndolo en pocas palabras pudiera decirse que las personas amarillas son aquellas que te trastocan la vida para mejor, no importa si coincides con ellas por unos breves minutos o durante años, logran cambiar algo en ti, enseñarte algo o sencillamente abrazarte el alma aún sin palabras. Puede ser un completo desconocido con el que te cruzaste una vez y apenas recuerdas su rostro, pero dejó una huella en tu vida que te hizo ser mejor.
Después de leer un poco más sobre las personas amarillas me quedé pensando. Aún cuando siempre se recibe con alegría este tipo de comentarios, es también útil reflexionar en las causas que lo pudieron generar.
Primero pensé que tal vez la razón de que me viera así era porque yo sencillamente lo aceptaba desde su "muy particular personalidad" sin juzgarlo o entre tantas críticas que recibe a diario yo me quedaba con lo mejor. Pero la verdad es que aunque posiblemente esa sea una de las razones, la forma en la que otros nos perciben nunca se debe a un solo criterio y siempre habrá razones tan subjetivas que quedarán fuera de nuestro propio autoanálisis, por lo que no tenía mucha lógica seguir adivinando.
Mi amigo tiene una personalidad exageradamente extrovertida, muy muy intensa, por lo que inclusive otros extrovertidos lo aíslan y lo rechazan. Yo soy una persona introvertida y algunas de sus actitudes pueden hacerme sentir un poco incómoda, sin embargo, no le reclamo como si él fuera el problema, solo le explico mi punto de vista y pido por las claras lo que me hace sentir incómoda. Hasta ahora tomar esta posición me ha dado muy buenos resultados, pues he logrado establecer vínculos con personas cuya personalidad nada tiene que ver con la mía y eso, creo, ha significado un crecimiento para todos.
No hemos tenido un vínculo profundo, apenas hemos coincidido personalmente, aunque cada cierto tiempo nos saludamos y ayudamos vía Internet, pero ha bastado ese tiempo para reconocer también su nobleza y su personalidad sensible y empática y se lo he dejado saber siempre que nos vemos. Vale mucho decir la luz que vemos en los demás en un mundo que se enfoca en recordar la oscuridad.
No sé si verdaderamente soy o no una persona amarilla. No creo que todas las personas amarillas sean conscientes de que lo son, y tal vez ahí está la magia. Más que todo, el truco está en tratar de pintar con color el pedacito de mundo que nos toca andar, a pesar de nuestros días grises. Gracias a todas las personas amarillas que me acompañan por acá y a todas aquellas que cambiaron mi vida.
