El viernes en la tarde, fui al Centro Plaza a narrar la sesión especial que les había mencionado en la mañana. No tenía personas inscritas y esperé un par de horas, tiempo que invertí en rezar y pronunciar mantras para la limpieza y prosperidad del local. Luego mi amigo Alfonzo, el único que podía ir en ese momento, llegó y pude comenzar mi historia, en la cual él interpretó a un Mago con poder sobre el Tiempo y el Destino, que identificó rápidamente la naturaleza tortuosa del espacio en el que se encontraba y usó sus capacidades para llamar cualidades luminosas y así desmantelar la oscuridad. A pesar de que sólo le narré a él y no cobré nada en esta ocasión, igual lo considero un éxito pues, como les dije en mi última publicación, mi objetivo era narrar la historia y lo hice.
El sábado también narré, pero a niños en una actividad por el Día del Padre. Yo no celebro ese día, naturalmente, pues ya hace casi una década que mi papá no está en este plano y no tengo otras figuras paternas en este mundo, pero servicio es servicio, y trabajar con niños es algo muy distinto a todo lo que he hecho antes. Preparé dos historias cortas para este evento, ambas girando en torno a un dios creador llamado Aiguazún, y compartí escena con otros narradores, lo cual me permitió contrastar mis habilidades y aprender un poco más. También establecí algunas posibles alianzas no solo con mis compañeros en el evento, sino con sus organizadoras, a quienes les gustó bastante mi desempeño.
On Friday afternoon, I went to Centro Plaza to narrate the special session that I'd mentioned in the morning. I didn't have any enrolled players and I waited for two hours, a time that I invested on prayer and uttering mantras for the shop's prosperity and cleansing. The my friend Alfonzo, the only one who could go at that time, arrived and I could being my story, in which he played a Mage with power over Time and Fate, who quickly identified the tortuous nature of the space in which he found himself and used his capabilities to summon luminous qualities so as to dismantle the darkness. Although I narrated only for him and didn't charge any money in this occasion, I still consider it a success because, as I told you in my latest publication, my goal was to tell the story and I did.
On Saturday I also narrated, but for kids during an activity for Father's Day. I don't celebrate that day, naturally, because it's been almost a decade since dad isn't in this coil and I have no other paternal figures in this world, but service is service, and working with children is something very different from what I'd done before. I prepared two short stories for this event, both revolving around a creator god called Aiguazún, and I shared the stage with other narrators, which allowed me to contrast my skills and learn a bit more. I also established some possible alliances not just with my partners in the event, but also with its organizers, who really liked my performance.
Luego de narrar, me reuní de nuevo con Alfonzo, comí mandocas (un plato típico de Maracaibo) por primera vez, y nos preparamos para el entrenamiento del día al cual se unieron dos nuevos estudiantes. Finalmente, ya en la noche, comencé a ver una nueva serie que estaba esperando desde hace meses llamada "Lazarus", dirigida por Shinichiro Watanabe, el mismo creador de "Cowboy Bebop", mi serie animada favorita. La trama se basa en un escenario del fin del mundo, en el que la humanidad entera tiene años consumiendo una droga clínica que elimina el dolor pero su creador les advierte que, en realidad, es un veneno lento que terminará por extinguir a todos los consumidores a menos que alguien lo encuentre a él antes de que se agote un período de 30 días. Los guiños a CB son muchísimos y la trama está también repleta de información espiritual y mística, como lo están muchas historias populares en estos tiempos. La serie no ha finalizado y quedé con ganas de más, pero pronto terminará.
Para concluir con mis actividades del fin de semana, narré mi partida terapéutica en el Parque del Este y los jugadores se encontraron con una entidad de gran poder que han considerado a veces su enemiga y otras, su aliada. En esta parte de la historia, pasaron por un período de impotencia en el que esta entidad los obligó a ver parte de su larga historia. Luego les reveló una estructura que representa al régimen y todas las prácticas siniestras que sus miembros han usado para mantenerse en el poder. Junto con esa estructura, también tuvieron que enfrentar sus propias sombras en la forma de cuatro bestias únicas para cada quien. La sesión les dejó más preguntas que respuestas por el momento, lo cual me parece muy importante incluso cuando no sea del todo divertido para ellos.
After narrating, I met with Alfonzo again, ate mandocas (a typical Maracaibo dish) for the first time, and we got ready for the day's training in which we were joined by two new students. Finally, at night, I began watching a new TV show that I'd been expecting for months called "Lazarus", directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, the same creator of "Cowboy Bebop", my favorite animated series. The plot is based on an end-world scenario where the entirety of humanity has been consuming for years a clinical drug that eliminates pain but its creator warns everyone that, in truth, it's a slow poison that will end up extinguish all consumers unless someone finds him before a 30-day period elapses. The references to CB are plenty and the plot is also packed with spiritual and mystical information, as many popular stories are these days. The show isn't finished yet and was left wanting more, but it'll end soon.
Concluding the relation of my weekend activities, I narrated my therapeutic game in the Eastern Park and the players encountered an entity of great power whom they've sometimes considered an enemy and other times, an ally. In this part of the story, they went through a period of helplessness in which this entity forced them to see part of their long history. Then she revealed to them a structure that represents the regime and all of the sinister practices that its members have used in order to remain in power. Along with that structure, they also had to face their own shadows in the form of four beasts unique to each one of them. The session left them with more questions than answers for the moment, which I think is very important even when it's not necessarily fun for them.
En resumen, la experiencia de los últimos tres días ha estado totalmente enfocada en mi propósito como narrador, y por lo que puedo ver, ésta será mi vida de acá en adelante, en alineación con la voluntad que he expresado múltiples veces durante los años recientes. Estoy logrando lo que me había propuesto y eso incrementa mi ya considerable alegría. Seguiré devoto a este camino, con todas las herramientas que tengo a mi disposición.

In summary, the experience of the last three days has been totally focused on my purpose as a narrator, and as far as I can see, this will be my life from now on, in alignment with the desire that I've expressed multiple times throughout recent years. I'm accomplishing what I'd planned for myself and that increases my already considerable joy. I'll continue being devoting myself to this path, with all the tools that I have at my disposal.
