El chistoso
Entiéndase como una habilidad social que he logrado desarrollar y muchas personas esperan que esta habilidad permanezca manifiesta, sobre todo los fines de semana; días de copas y trasnochos. Pero detrás de esta habilidad hay una cuestión psicológica que me gustaría esclarecer.
En una de mis publicaciones, había mencionado que uno de mis rasgos que otras personas desprecian es mi capacidad de ser muy observador. Pero esta misma capacidad me ha llevado a percibir lo siguiente: no es que en esencia quiera ser "chistoso" durante conversaciones grupales entre amistades, de manera espontanea y genuina, sino que esperan que sea su fuente de entretenimiento. Es como encender el televisor: esperas encontrar un programa que te resulte gracioso, pero cuando deja de serlo, lo apagas y te olvidas de él. La experiencia se reduce a un simple estimulo pasajero ¿Será que solo me valoran por mi capacidad de entretener?
Puedo suministrar dosis de entretenimiento en diferentes tamaños y presentaciones, desde el humor negro hasta el más preferido: el chisme humorístico. A pesar tener que vivir esta situación, tengo la certeza de que cuando perciben que no estoy en modo "chistoso", cuando prefiero conversar de temas mas significativos y que enriquezca el nexo social, consideran que es de menor importancia.
Una vez enferme y pase varios días en cama, pero en lugar de preguntar como me sentía, realmente estaban más pendientes de que me recuperara para verme de nuevo en mi papel de "chistoso" y ser su fuente de entretenimiento.

The funny man
I understand it as a social skill that I have managed to develop, and many people expect this skill to remain manifest, especially on weekends, days of drinking, and late nights. But behind this skill, there is a psychological issue that I would like to clarify.
In one of my posts, I mentioned that one of my traits that other people despise is my ability to be very observant. But this same ability has led me to perceive the following. It is not that I essentially want to be “funny” during group conversations among friends, spontaneously and genuinely, but that they expect me to be their source of entertainment. It's like turning on the TV: you expect to find a program that you find funny, but when it stops being funny, you turn it off and forget about it. The experience is reduced to a mere passing stimulus. Is it that I am only valued for my ability to entertain?
I can provide doses of entertainment in different sizes and presentations, from black humor to the most preferred: humorous gossip. In spite of having to live with this situation, I am certain that when they perceive that I am not in “funny” mode when I prefer to talk about more meaningful topics that enrich the social nexus, they consider that it is of lesser importance.
Sorpresivo ingenio
Pocas personas en mi vida valoran esta cualidad, más allá de mi sentido del humor. No es que con ello pretenda impresionar o ser el centro de atención, sino que valoro el reconocimiento honesto de mis habilidades cuando lo merezco. Tengo un amigo en particular que suele visitarme y, cada vez que viene, trae consigo su tableta o su cuaderno de notas. A medida que le expreso mis argumentos, comienza a tomar apuntes rápidamente. Claro, compartimos interés por temas en común. Por ejemplo, él es profesor de matemáticas y, cuando me ve sumergido en el mundo de las fórmulas, comienza a realizar preguntas sobre mis formulaciones y le doy explicaciones. Recuerdo que él nunca se había imaginado aplicar la Distancia Euclidiana para actividades de NLP. De hecho, a el no le resulta agradable cuando manifiesto mi lado chistoso: "No, no, no. Así no, ya vas a empezar. Mejor vengo después". Él sí presta atención a los temas que realmente me gustan o cuando siento curiosidad por algún tema que desconozco y le atribuyo un interés práctico e intelectual para mí. El prefiere escucharme cuando comparto conversaciones mas profundas y sienta que pueda valorar mi intelecto.

Surprising ingenuity
Few people in my life value this quality, beyond my sense of humor. Not that I am trying to impress or be the center of attention, but I value honest recognition of my abilities when I deserve it. I have one particular friend who often visits me and, every time he comes over, he brings his tablet or notebook with him. As I express my arguments to him, he quickly begins to take notes. Of course, we share an interest in common topics. For example, he is a math teacher and, when he sees me immersed in the world of formulas, he starts asking questions about my formulations and I give him explanations. I remember that he had never imagined applying Euclidean Distance to NLP activities. He does not find it pleasant when I show my funny side: “No, no, no. Not like that, you are going to start. Not like that, you are about to start. I'd better come later”.He does pay attention to topics that I like or when I am curious about a topic that I am unfamiliar with and attributes practical and intellectual interest to it for me. He prefers to listen to me when I share deeper conversations and he feels he can value my intellect.
Potencial latente
Y se relaciona con mi capacidad para generar ideas en el área o tema que me involucre, como si siempre intentase solucionar algún problema de forma creativa o experimental. Esto me ocurre de forma inconsciente o espontánea, puedo pasar meses en ese estado intentando encontrar soluciones hasta el punto de descuidarme personalmente. Soy propenso a obsesionarme en la búsqueda de respuestas. Una vez le comenté a un amigo que me gustaría crear mi propio sistema personal de atención automatizado y le causó gracia, porque él me percibió como un loco intentando socializar con máquinas. Pero cuando le expliqué mis motivos y entendió que me ayudaría a ser más productivo, finalmente vislumbró el potencial positivo que podría tener en mi vida.
Recuerdo que le di una pequeña demostración: tomé el micrófono y le ordené a mi computador lo siguiente: "Necesito que ingreses y realices una transferencia de fondos. Primero, ingresa a este sitio, busca precios, calcula, etc.", y en cuestión de segundos, mi pequeño programa le transfirió fondos a la cuenta bancaria de mi amigo. Fue un obsequio. Ahora, cada vez que viene a visitarme y nota que estoy en algo que le parece complejo, se ríe, pero no es porque él perciba mi lado "chistoso", sino porque me pregunta: "¿Qué estás haciendo?". A lo que le respondo con otra pregunta: "¿Estás seguro de que quieres saberlo?". Luego de una carcajada, me responde con: "No, mejor no. Todo eso que haces me parece complicado. ¿Por qué mejor no haces cosas más fáciles? Cada vez que me explicas, es complejo de entender". Yo le respondo: "Lo mejor de todo esto, es cuando transfiero fondos, ¿verdad?" 😂
Antes de despedirme, agradezco @damarysvibra por esta nueva iniciativa. Me ofreció una breve pausa en mi rutina para reflexionar sobre mí mismo y mis amistades.

Latent potential
It is related to my ability to generate ideas in the area or subject that involves me as if I were always trying to solve some problem creatively or experimentally. This happens to me unconsciously or spontaneously, I can spend months in this state trying to find solutions to the point of personal neglect. I am prone to become obsessed with the search for answers. I once told a friend that I would like to create my automated attention system and he was amused because he perceived me as a madman trying to socialize with machines. But when I explained my motives and he understood that it would help me be more productive, he finally glimpsed the positive potential it could have in my life.
I remember I gave him a little demonstration: I took the microphone and commanded my computer: “I need you to log in and make a funds transfer. First, go to this site, look up prices, calculate, etc.”, and in a matter of seconds, my little program transferred funds to my friend's bank account. It was a gift. Now, every time he comes to visit me and notices that I'm doing something he finds complex, he laughs, not because he senses my “funny” side, but because he asks me, “What are you doing?”. To which I reply with another question, “Are you sure you want to know?”. After a laugh, he responds with, “No, I'd better not. All that stuff you do seems complicated to me, why don't you do easier things? Every time you explain it to me, it's hard to understand. I reply, “The best part of it all, is when I transfer funds, right?” 😂
