Todos nacemos dentro de familias que poseen ciertas tradiciones, costumbres, creencias religiosas y políticas, pero eso no quiere decir que no tienes derecho a tomar tus propias decisiones y buscar tu propio camino.
Un feliz día tengas todos mis Hivers amigos, muy contenta de estar nuevamente en mi querida comunidad @Holos&Lotus. Esta mañana ocurrió un incidente en el que vi pasar aspectos de mi vida como si fuese una película desde mi infancia hasta la actualidad.
Como dije al principio de mi blog nacemos dentro de familias con creencias arraigadas, que pasan de generación en generación sin hacer el más mínimo cambio, yo crecí dentro de una familia que se podría decir con afectos católicos, pues eran de los iban a las misas y procesiones en semana santa y nuevamente en las misas de aguinaldo en diciembre, otras veces iban por algún bautizo o por alguna misa en honor a un pariente o amigo del resto no se aparecían por allí.
Pero algo que si tenían es que cuando los niños cumplían 9 años de edad les enviaban obligados a realizar el curso de catecismo, y yo no fui la excepción junto conmigo enviaron a dos primos quienes por la flojera de tener que levantarse temprano sábado y domingo al mes dejaron de asistir, yo me mantuve firme asistiendo pues desde los 6 años que comencé a leer la Biblia siempre me apasionaba poder aprender más de ella.
Recuerdo que al final del terreno de mi abuela donde quedaba nuestra casa materna, había un árbol el cual era mi sitio favorito de todo aquel extenso terreno, allí me podía pasar horas y horas leyendo las escrituras y conversando con Dios, aunque mi primos se burlaban de mí, eso para mí no tenía importancia porque cada vez que acudía a ese sitio sentía una paz en mi interior como no la sentía en ningún otro lugar.
Por un incidente que ocurrió días antes de la fecha prevista para el acto de la primera comunión, mi fe en la iglesia comenzó a decaer y ya no quería hacerla así que acudí en busca de ayuda y guía al único ser que me podía ayudar y guiar Dios, después de casi dos horas en aquel lugar especial para mí logré sentir la paz que tanto ansiaba, por cuestiones de salud no podía asistir a dicho acto y no realice la primera comunión.
A pesar de que para mi familia era algo muy importante, yo dentro de mí ser sentía que no era correcto hacer la primera comunión por complacer a mi familia, si algún la iba a hacer sería porque yo estaba convencida que eso es lo que quería de lo contrario no lo iba a hacer, esto causó gran revuelo entre mi familia, pues era la primera que se había revelado en contra de las tradiciones de la familia.
Desde entonces evitaba en lo posible cruzarme por el camino de mi abuela, puesto que vivíamos en el mismo terreno me las ingeniaba para no verla, porque cada vez que me veía que decía que me iba a quemar en el infierno, que Dios estaba enojado conmigo y que alguna maldición caía sobre la familia sería mi culpa.
Yo seguí estudiando las escrituras con un grupo de amigos cercanos a mi casa y con el tiempo nos invitaron a participar de las clases de catecismo que impartiría una de las que dirigía el grupo de estudio bíblico, en un capilla que iban a reinaugurar a 45 minutos de mi casa, por un casi un años asistí con mis amigos a las clases y todo iba fluyendo bien, estudiamos las escrituras tal cual como lo hacíamos en el grupo no había nada diferente a que venía haciendo durante caso 5 años.
Pero el día que nos dijeron que la siguiente semana seria el acto de la primera comunión, todo lo hermoso comenzó a tornarse gris, hablé con mi amiga quien dirigía el grupo y le explique lo que me sucedía y lo que había sucedido tiempo atrás, ella muy cariñosamente me dijo – sino no te sientes segura de dar este paso no lo des, recuerda que nadie puede obligarte a hacer algo que no quieras, piénsalo bien y cambias de parecer, te esperamos el sábado a las 8 de la mañana.
Durante esa semana la sensación no me dejo tranquila, así que hable con Dios nuevamente y deje todo en sus manos, luego hable con mi madre quien al igual que mi amiga me dijo que yo tenía mi albedrío y que debía hacer solo lo que yo que dictara mi corazón, que fuera lo fuera ella me apoyaría.
El día llegó y quise ir no por hacer la primera comunión sino por acompañar a mis amigos, pero debido a unas fuertes brisas de la noche anterior el paso hacía donde quedaba la capilla estaba bloqueado y solo los que tenían carro particular podría ir si rodeaban la ciudad y pasaban por un paso entre dos pueblos, esto me hizo entender que lo que yo sentía era un aviso que no debía dejarme llevar las creencias de mi familia sino que era libre de buscar las mías propias.
Aunque fue fácil el camino de buscar el lugar donde yo me sintiera a gusto, durante muchos años estuve visitando Iglesias y compartía con sus feligreses, pero al hacerles a sus líderes “mis preguntas del alma” sus respuestas no me daban esa paz que yo tanto buscaba, hice amistades dentro de algunas de las Iglesias que visite, otras como no acepte bautizarme en ellas me dieron la espalda, más eso no me quitaba el sueño mi deseo era llegar al sitio donde yo me sintiera que pertenecía que yo era parte de esa Iglesia.
No fue hasta hace 16 años que para estas fechas más o menos, llegaron unos jóvenes a mi casa invitados por mi madre a enseñarle sobre las doctrinas y creencias de Su Iglesia, que al escucharles que le hacían las mismas preguntas que tenía años haciéndome, y al ver que mi madre no le parecían importantes aquellas preguntas, yo salí de mi cuarto y les dije que yo si deseaba saber las respuestas a esas preguntas.
Esa tarde ellos me respondieron todas y cada una de mis preguntas con escrituras en mano, luego nos invitaron a asistir a una reunión dominical con ellos y un bautismo, desde ese día hasta hoy sigo siendo parte esa Iglesia, siento que soy parte de ella y que pertenezco allí.
A la siguiente semana tomé la decisión de bautizarme y mis hijos libremente tomaron la misma decisión, esto causo un gran revuelo entre mi familia, fue el primer y único día en que mi celular colapso de tantas llamadas perdidas y mensajes, tanto de mi esposo quien no estaba de acuerdo y mi familia, me escribieron que yo estaba loca, que como le iba a hacer eso a la familia y pare usted de contar cuantas cosas más en contra de mi decisión.
Pero nada hizo que retrocediera, yo sabía lo que quería y sabía que Dios me estaba apoyando y que haría Su voluntad no la del hombre, una semana más tarde mi cuñada me pregunto a según como curiosidad de ella – que haría si mi esposo me podría a elegir entre él o mi nueva religión – simplemente le respondí - decido por Jesucristo porque con Él vendrá lo demás.
Mi familia y amigos no me la pusieron nada fácil, todo lo que hacía me lo cuestionaban y siempre se burlaban de las cosas que yo hacía, buscando manera de hacerme cambiar de parecer, pero yo había tomado mi decisión y nadie me iba a hacer cambiar de parecer.
El día de nuestro Matrimonio en la Iglesia
6 años después mi esposo también se convirtió a la Iglesia y hoy seguimos defiendo nuestras creencias, en particular de aquellos familiares que aun hoy me cuestionan el haber dejado atrás las tradiciones y creencias de mi abuela, bástame decirle que hoy día no solo mi familia directa es miembro de la iglesia sino que mi hermana menor y su familia también lo son, al igual que lo fue mi madre, todos juntos defendemos nuestras creencias y juntos hemos comenzados a forjar nuestras propias tradiciones llenas de amor y respeto hacia los demás, respetando primeramente el albedrío de los demás.
Hoy me encontré con una prima lejana quien al verme salir de la Iglesia, cruzo la avenida y escupió en señal de desprecio, yo al contrario le dije – también te quiero prima, saludos los tíos. Cada semana me tropiezo con sus padres y ellos han entrado a la Iglesia a una que otra actividad o a usar el baño o tomar agua, y nunca me han cuestionado mi decisión, al contrario me dan un beso y abrazo cada vez que nos vemos.
Defender nuestras creencias es lo que nos da valor para seguir adelante, tenemos albedrío y somos dueños de nuestras decisiones así como de las causas que con llevan dichas decisiones, no juzgo a nadie y obligo a nadie a creer en lo que yo creo, pero algo si sé amo y respeto tanto a Dios y Jesucristo como a mi prójimo.

But nothing made me back down, I knew what I wanted and I knew that God was supporting me and that I would do His will not man's, a week later my sister in law asked me as a curiosity of her - what would I do if my husband could choose between him or my new religion - I simply answered - I decide for Jesus Christ because with Him the rest will come.
My family and friends did not make it easy for me, they questioned everything I did and always made fun of the things I did, looking for ways to change my mind, but I had made my decision and no one was going to change my mind.
The day of our Marriage in the Church
6 years later my husband also converted to the Church and today we continue to defend our beliefs, particularly from those family members who even today question me for having left behind the traditions and beliefs of my grandmother, suffice it to say that today not only my direct family is a member of the church but my younger sister and her family are also members, as was my mother, all together we defend our beliefs and together we have begun to forge our own traditions full of love and respect for others, respecting first and foremost the will of others.
Today I met a distant cousin who when she saw me leaving the church, crossed the avenue and spat as a sign of contempt, I on the contrary told her - I love you too cousin, greetings uncles. Every week I bump into her parents and they have entered the church for one or another activity or to use the bathroom or drink water, and they have never questioned my decision, on the contrary they give me a kiss and a hug every time we see each other.
Defending our beliefs is what gives us the courage to move forward, we have free will and we own our decisions as well as the causes that lead to those decisions, I do not judge anyone and I do not force anyone to believe in what I believe, but one thing I do know is that I love and respect God and Jesus Christ as much as I love and respect my neighbor.
