Espero que estén de acuerdo, hay mucho para decir sobre El Tiempo y temo dar vueltas sobre mis propias reflexiones, digamos… terminar mordiendome la cola.

Cuando pienso en el tiempo no me refiero a relojes, pero sí al lugar que ocupaba el segundero… es decir, que pequeño tramo de tiempo, más pequeño tramo de tiempo, hacen un período mayor y en su paso, vemos lo inexorable del pasado, del futuro también. No me voy a poner detallista, quiero hablar de mi propia percepción, y no así de supuestos o de imaginarios. Verán, cuando conocí el secuoya más antiguo del país (es un Alerce Milenario llamado el 'Gran Abuelo’), en Bariloche, sentí que el paso del tiempo sería infinito, que el tema simplemente estaba allí, y que no importa incluso lo que yo piense, si lo reflexiono o no, ha pasado tanto tiempo, que este árbol ha crecido a su gusto, pensar solamente que estaba ya en este lugar hace 5.484 años me expande la mente de alguna manera.

Este tipo de encuentros en mi presente me ha dejado con pensamientos vagos por mucho rato. Tanto así como algo que es tan antiguo, o tan duradero en el tiempo, contrapolado a una cerveza que se calienta en verano. El paso del tiempo hace a su gusto con nosotros. Quizás has visto alguno de estos videos donde una fruta va pudriéndose, o cambiando su estado. Quizás has visto agua estancada que se evapora con el paso de los días y dependiendo del clima. Vemos ríos subir y bajar, vemos las marcas que esto deja en las superficies. No podría ocurrir de otra manera que alguna marca quedase en nosotros con el paso y lo que sea que nos toque recibir del tiempo ¿verdad? Porque no somos la excepción y porque incluso nosotros, siendo temporales, dejamos nuestra marca.

These kinds of encounters in my present have left me with vague thoughts for a long time. So much like something that is so ancient, or so enduring in time, counterpolated to a beer warming in summer. The passage of time does as it pleases with us. Maybe you've seen some of these videos where a fruit is rotting, or changing its state. Maybe you have seen stagnant water evaporating as the days go by and depending on the weather. We see rivers rise and fall, we see the marks this leaves on surfaces. It could not happen otherwise that some mark is left on us with the passage and whatever we get from the weather, right? Hace unos días hablaba con un amigo de las cosas buenas que hacemos por los demás, sin pensar en lo que recibimos a cambio, y terminamos la charla entre mate y horizonte, diciéndonos que la mejor actitud que podemos tener con la gente que queremos, es regarlas como un jardín, aunque no nos toque verlo florecer. No hay mayor pena y no hay mayor gusto. Hemos sido beneficiados con el don de dar, de ser quienes tienen la regadera y expandimos con amor nuestro conocimiento, nuestra sabiduría, quizás… Y regamos la vida de otros, compartiendo desde la experiencia o enseñanza, y quizás el jardín ajeno florecerá lejos de nuestra vista. Ni siquiera nos tocará ser espectadores de la felicidad ajena. Nuestra parte de cumplir el trato es regar, es dar, solo por amor a dar. Asique el tiempo pasará de una manera tan determinante que no podemos ahorrarnos el acto de dar por si “aquello no perdura en nuestra vida”

A few days ago I was talking with a friend about the good things we do for others, without thinking about what we get in return, and we ended the talk between mate and horizon, telling us that the best attitude we can have with the people we love, is to water them like a garden, even if it is not our turn to see it bloom. We have been benefited with the gift of giving, of being the ones who have the watering can and we expand with love our knowledge, our wisdom, perhaps... Lo que damos se multiplica, se replica y sigue existiendo. Es como alimentar la llama de otro, esto no apagará nunca la propia llama. El paso del tiempo será siempre con un camino hacia un futuro incierto donde, con un poco de suerte, pasaremos frente a un jardín que floreció con una semilla que hemos plantado, sin olvidar nunca, que uno es jardín que regar antes que ninguno otro.

Me gustaría hablar tanto más del tema, que decidí acompañar con algunas fotos que me disparan a hablar, carteles antiguos, personas que ya no están, el trabajo que alguien realizó y yo contemplo hoy. La cantidad de gente que ha pasado por las calles, sabiendo que somos el fruto de una sociedad que se ha construido en un pasado. ¿De dónde obtuvimos lo que somos y predicamos hoy? Elegimos, o somos el producto de un pasado? Seremos el producto de un futuro también?

The amount of people who have passed through the streets, knowing that we are the fruit of a society that has been built in a past. Where did we get what we are and preach today? Did we choose, or are we the product of a past? Will we also be the product of a future?
El pasado nos saluda mientras por la ventana ya sale el sol de un nuevo día que nos invita a ser mejores. Esta idea que siempre vuelve a mi, la de ser mejores que cada uno. No se compite con nadie, más que con una versión pasada propia. No importa cuánto nos quieran decir lo contrario, cuando puedes estar tranquilo con tus propios pensamientos y vivencias, no debería preocuparte nada más. ¿Con qué me encuentro en este punto ? Con lo mucho que cambian las emociones y la percepción de la misma, gracias al paso del tiempo. Porque una cosa es aceptarlo, verlo, entenderlo y reconocerlo en las cosas físicas que nos rodean, o en el jardín que florece. Pero muy distinto es amigarnos con la idea de que el cambio que marcha por dentro es igual de valioso. Una emoción que teníamos, que pensábamos nunca soltar, o incluso dolores que sospechábamos “jamás se irán” se disipan. Como un humo negro, opscuro que alguna vez invadió todo el espacio, se vuela lentamente y nos deja repetidamente, en un mejor amanecer… donde reconocernos mejores, sin cierto dolor, o aceptando algún pensamiento, nos vuelve nuevos para enfrentar el presente.
