Dirijo un cordial saludo a toda la comunidad @holos-lotus. Hoy me uno a la iniciativa propuesta por @charjaim, Esa vida nuestra. Iniciativa 35/ Cómo superar las fobias/ESP-ENG, en la cual se trata el tema de "Fobia". ¿Qué es fobia? ¿Padecemos alguna? ¿Como nos afecta?, Desde que leí su artículo me pareció un tema interesante ideal para desarrollar un buen contenido. De hecho, estudiando el caso, descubrí que cargo con algunas fobias en el transcurso de mi vida. Te invito a leer mi post donde desarrollaré el tema y hablaré de algunos casos de la vida real.
Invito cordialmente a unirse a los Hivers: @ismeris, @yerogarcia, de quienes he leído su contenido recientemente y veo que son grandes publicadores, creo que se sentirán a gusto en esta comunidad.
¿Cómo reconocer nuestras fobias? ¿Se pueden tratar?
Para manejar y controlar efectivamente nuestras fobias creo que primeramente debemos informarnos bien al respecto del factor que nos causa una determinada fobia y de cuál es su verdadera naturaleza.
De esta forma podríamos saber cómo enfrentarla. En cualquiera de los casos debemos buscar ayuda profesional, de ser necesario, para estar seguros del cuadro que estamos presentando y saber como atacarlo, no sea, que lo estemos confundiendo con alguna otra padecencia similar.
Cabe destacar, que existen diferencias entre “Fobia” y “Trauma”, a pesar de que son conceptos parecidos.
La fobia se manifiesta como un acto de rechazo, repulsión o miedo irracional hacia un elemento que nos incomoda o nos causa una intensa ansiedad. Puede provenir de una mala costumbre aprendida o algo que hayamos desarrollado progresivamente con el tiempo, internalizándolo, como un efecto intolerable generador de gran escrúpulo.
A veces, las fobias se pueden controlar mentalmente cuando tomamos conciencia del factor que la genera.
¡Cuidado con los síntomas parecidos!
Por su parte el trauma, consiste en una marca psicológica duradera que nos afecta emocionalmente con consecuencias visibles mucho más abrasivas.
Por lo regular los traumas provienen de experiencias graves que nos causan heridas o pérdidas irreparables.
Dado su naturaleza fatal, algunos traumas duran para toda la vida y deben ser tratados profesionalmente debido a que el ser humano no está condicionado para encontrarle alguna salida por sí solo.
Por ejemplo: El estrés post traumático, la depresión, ataques de pánico, entre otros, son patologías complejas que ameritan atención médica especializada.
El miedo es un catalizador
Otro aspecto relacionado con el tema es el “Miedo”.
Si bien se trata de una emoción natural que se presenta en nosotros a manera de reacción ante el inminente peligro, la amenaza o algún otro tipo de adversidad circunstancial parecida.
Cabe destacar, que el miedo actúa como un sistema de alerta instintivo el cual nos sirve para resguardar nuestra integridad física y emocional cuando estamos en riesgo.
Gracias al miedo el ser humano ha tomado consciencia del mundo y de los fenómenos que derivan de la naturaleza los cuales potencialmente nos podrían causar algún daño.
Como por ejemplo: Las tormentas, el rayo, los huracanes, inundaciones, el trueno, el granizo, entre otros.
Así, durante el transcurso de la historia el miedo ha conducido a la misma supervivencia del hombre haciéndole encontrar solución a la inminencia de ciertos fenómenos que atentan contra él.
¿Se pueden crear las fobias?
Sin embargo, yo he podido ver a ciertas personas que infligen miedo a otros, haciendo uso de la sugestión y la manipulación psicológica.
También hay casos cuando “Se les mete miedo”, a los niños en vez de brindarles la orientación adecuada. Esto les puede ocasionar traumas severos y una concepción errada acerca del mundo que le rodea.
Por ejemplo: El miedo a la oscuridad, a la soledad, miedo a la muerte, miedo a la noche, miedo a las alturas, etc.
Los cuales son factores a los que no se debería temer puesto que su condición es física y natural, correspondiente al mundo que nos rodea, por lo cual, estamos destinados a enfrentarlos.
"En tal sentido, las fobias se pueden crear a partir de la mala orientación, el abuso, las falsas creencias, la manipulación psicológica, esto causa que se creen imágenes tergiversadas que distan de la realidad y al impuestas en la mente de alguien, principalmente en los niños, puede ocasionar distorsiones que le creen inseguridades o que le manifiesten cierto terror sobre situaciones, eventos, objetos o elementos por los cuales no deberíamos preocuparnos ya que en realidad no son potencialmente riesgosos".
¿Padeces alguna fobia? ¡Yo sí!
Volviendo acá, al tema de la “Fobia”.
Habiendo aclarado los anteriores aspectos que guardan estrecha relación con la Fobia, me gustaría expresar algunas experiencias personales las cuales se tornan intolerables para mí desde el punto de vista emocional.
Algunas más difíciles que otras, pero aun así, con el paso del tiempo se han convertido en todo un reto.
Caso 1.
Desde hace un tiempo padezco fobia al mar abierto. Para ser exacto, fue justo desde el momento que nacieron mis hijas.
De mi parte, soy nadador, ya que desde la infancia practiqué natación como disciplina deportiva.
Aun así, veo que mi fobia se relaciona con el peligro potencial que corren otras personas que me rodean, principalmente, mi propia familia.
Es algo que no sé controlar. Me ha pasado varias veces, en la oportunidad de dar un paseo en bote hacia las islas turísticas del oriente del país, íbamos en una embarcación mediana, no menos de cinco personas. Todos conocidos, entre familiares y amigos cercanos. Llevábamos puesto el equipo salvavidas, además de haber tomado otras medidas de seguridad.
Así mientras ellos disfrutaban del paseo, casi eufóricos. Yo iba muerto de miedo en una esquina del bote, temiendo por ellos. Me parecía que en algún momento se podían descuidar y caer al agua, de hecho, también me imaginaba el colapso del bote debido al oleaje, entre otros aspectos negativos.
A pesar de que reconocía que se trataba de mí, de una fobia, aun así, era al momento de llegar a tierra firme cuando yo me calmaba y volvía al positivismo. A pesar de que todavía pensaba en el trayecto de regreso donde sabía que la fobia se apoderaría de mí nuevamente.
La forma de tratar esta fobia ha sido simplemente alejarme del mar abierto tanto como pueda, evitar en los posible de transportarme en botes, ferry o lanchas, a menos que sea estrictamente necesario.
Procurar viajar “solo” o de forma independiente, por medio marítimo. Concentrarme y pensar en positivo. Respirar profundamente y hacer meditación consciente, cuando me encuentre delante de una necesidad apremiante de viajar en barcos.
Caso 2.
Tengo fobia a la inminente ocurrencia de sismos. Me ha tocado vivir varios sismos y un terremoto fuerte con consecuencias devastadoras. Y eso me marcó para toda la vida.
Viviendo en alerta constante principalmente en horas nocturnas, no sé por qué.
Me torno realmente pesimista al respecto del tema.
Suelo asociar los movimientos normales que producen las camas en los cuartos, el eco o los sonidos nocturnos típicos, las pequeñas vibraciones transmitidas a través de las paredes del edificio donde vivo, etc.
También me afectan otras eventualidades, como el ruido distante de algún automotor o la vibración que producen el paso de los automóviles en la carretera y alcantarillado, pues, en ocasiones los asocio con el hecho de que ha temblado, preparándome ansiosamente para soportar posibles réplicas.
Esto no afecta el normal desenvolvimiento de mi vida pero si admito que permanece latente.
Les he preguntado a muchas personas de mi ciudad para ver que opinan y cuál es su caso.
Ellos me dicen que es normal, ya que, a ellos les ocurre lo mismo. Hay que acostumbrarse a vivir así, ser optimistas y tratar de dominar esa sensación de constante amenaza ya que nuestra ciudad queda en las cercanías de una falla tectónica donde la manifestación de eventos sísmicos es algo frecuente.
En cuanto a esta fobia, no encuentro ningún remedio eficaz, dado la naturaleza del fenómeno al cual me enfrento y su carácter impredecible.
Por tanto, por las noches, trato de distraer la mente con alguna otra actividad, como por ejemplo, la lectura y escritura lo cual es bastante efectivo y me pone a pensar en positivo.
Caso 3.
También siento fobia por las inyecciones. Eso me genera un gran nerviosismo, tanto, que empiezo a temblar de hecho en algunos casos llegué a ocasionar accidentes conmigo mismo, cuando estaba siendo tratado como paciente.
Por ejemplo, una vez una muy amable enfermera, de acuerdo a mi drástica e inesperada reacción ante el proceso de colocación de un medicamento, ella, sin querer, terminó por clavar la aguja en mi cara.
Sí, específicamente, en una de mis mejillas.
Por supuesto, ella no tuvo la culpa en absoluto, sino, que fui yo el responsable debido a la manifestación sobrevenida de mi fobia.
Cometí varios movimientos impulsivos de rechazo, lo cual nadie esperaba, ni pudo prever.
De hecho, hasta me paré de la silla donde permanecía mientras me colocaban la intra muscular en el brazo y fue ahí que ocurrió el accidente.
Esta fobia la he reducido gradualmente con el paso de los años y he tratado de combatirla poniendo de mi parte. Porque en sí, no es la inyección lo que molesta, ni el dolor que esta pueda infligir.
Más bien, es la sensación de angustia y el escrúpulo que generan las agujas y el hecho de saber que será insertada en nuestro cuerpo.
Pensamientos finales
Finalmente, debemos reconocer que las fobias son reacciones exageradas las cuales surgen de nosotros mismos ante algunos eventos, hechos, situaciones o elementos que escapan de nuestro control. De los cuales nos hemos forjado una imagen o concepto extrañamente repulsivo el cual nos ocasiona ansiedad o temor por su naturaleza.
Es importante entender que las fobias pueden presentar diferentes niveles de impacto en nuestra emocionalidad, igualmente, nuestra psicología se ve comprometida a tal efecto.
Se puede recomendar hacer una investigación exhaustiva cuando se padezca algún síntoma parecido a "Fobia, o simplemente, cuando se sospeche de su posible existencia, porque por descuido, una fobia puede evolucionar comprometiendo nuestra salud y bienestar, tanto físico como emocional.
En algún otro caso, estaríamos destinados a vivir con nuestras fobias y aprender a controlarlas.
Siempre que estas no interfieran con nuestra vida diaria, nuestras conductas, propósitos y motivación.

Ever since I read your article, I thought it was an interesting topic, ideal for developing good content. In fact, studying the case, I discovered that I've suffered from a few phobias throughout my life. I invite you to read my post, where I'll expand on the topic and discuss some real-life cases.

How do we recognize our phobias? Can they be treated?
To effectively manage and control our phobias, I believe we must first educate ourselves about the factor that causes a particular phobia and its true nature.
This way, we can know how to confront it. In either case, we should seek professional help, if necessary, to be certain of the symptoms we are experiencing and know how to address them, lest we confuse them with another similar condition.
It's worth noting that there are differences between "phobia" and "trauma," even though they are similar concepts.
A phobia manifests itself as an act of rejection, repulsion, or irrational fear toward something that makes us uncomfortable or causes intense anxiety. It can stem from a learned bad habit or something we have progressively developed over time, internalizing it as an intolerable effect that generates great scruples.
Sometimes, phobias can be mentally controlled when we become aware of the triggering factor.
Beware of similar symptoms!
Trauma, on the other hand, consists of a lasting psychological scar that affects us emotionally with much more severe, visible consequences.
Traumas typically stem from serious experiences that cause irreparable wounds or losses.
Given their fatal nature, some traumas last a lifetime and must be treated professionally because humans are not conditioned to find a way out of them on their own.
For example: post-traumatic stress, depression, panic attacks, among others, are complex pathologies that require specialized medical attention.
Fear is a catalyst
Another aspect related to the topic is "Fear."
Although it is a natural emotion that occurs in us as a reaction to imminent danger, threat, or some other similar type of circumstantial adversity,
It should be noted that fear acts as an instinctive warning system that helps us protect our physical and emotional integrity when we are at risk.
Thanks to fear, humankind has become aware of the world and the natural phenomena that could potentially harm us.
Such as storms, lightning, hurricanes, floods, thunder, hail, among others.
Thus, throughout history, fear has driven humankind's very survival, forcing them to find solutions to the imminence of certain phenomena that threaten them.
Can phobias be created?
However, I have seen certain people instill fear in others through suggestion and psychological manipulation.
There are also cases where children are "instilled with fear" instead of providing them with proper guidance. This can cause severe trauma and a misconception about the world around them.
For example: fear of the dark, fear of loneliness, fear of death, fear of the night, fear of heights, etc.
These are factors that should not be feared since their condition is physical and natural, corresponding to the world around us, and therefore, we are destined to face them.
"In this sense, phobias can be created by misguidance, abuse, false beliefs, or psychological manipulation. This causes distorted images to be created that are far from reality. When imposed on someone's mind, especially children, it can cause distortions that create insecurities or manifest a certain terror about situations, events, objects, or elements that we shouldn't worry about since they are not actually potentially dangerous."
Do you suffer from a phobia? I do!
Back here, to the topic of "Phobia."
Having clarified the previous aspects that are closely related to Phobia, I would like to share some personal experiences that have become intolerable for me from an emotional standpoint.
Some are more difficult than others, but even so, over time they have become quite a challenge.
Case 1.
I've suffered from a phobia of the open water for some time now. To be exact, it was right from the moment my daughters were born.
For my part, I'm a swimmer, having practiced swimming as a sport since childhood.
Even so, I see that my phobia is related to the potential danger faced by other people around me, mainly my own family.
It's something I can't control. It's happened to me several times. On a boat ride to the tourist islands in the east of the country, we were in a medium-sized boat, with no fewer than five people. All of us were acquaintances, including family and close friends. We were wearing life-saving gear and taking other safety precautions.
So, while they enjoyed the ride, almost euphoric, I was terrified in a corner of the boat, fearing for them. I thought they might get careless at some point and fall into the water. In fact, I also imagined the boat collapsing due to the waves, among other negative aspects.
Although I recognized that it was me, a phobia, it was only when we reached dry land that I calmed down and returned to a positive state of mind. Even though I still thought about the return trip, I knew the phobia would take hold of me again.
The way I've dealt with this phobia has been to simply stay away from the open sea as much as possible, avoiding travel by boat, ferry, or motorboat as much as possible unless absolutely necessary.
I try to travel "alone" or independently, by sea. I concentrate and think positively. I breathe deeply and do conscious meditation when I find myself faced with an urgent need to travel by boat.
Case 2.
I have a phobia of the imminent occurrence of earthquakes. I've experienced several earthquakes and a strong earthquake with devastating consequences. And that has marked me for life.
Living on constant alert, especially at night, I don't know why.
I become really pessimistic about the subject.
I tend to associate the normal movements produced by beds in rooms, the echo or typical nighttime sounds, the small vibrations transmitted through the walls of the building where I live, etc.
I'm also affected by other eventualities, such as the distant noise of a car or the vibration produced by passing cars on the road and in sewers. Sometimes I associate them with the fact that something has shaken, anxiously preparing myself to withstand possible aftershocks.
This doesn't affect the normal flow of my life, but I admit that it remains latent.
I've asked many people in my city to see what they think and what their situation is like.
They tell me it's normal, since the same thing happens to them. We have to get used to living like this, be optimistic, and try to master that feeling of constant threat, since our city is near a tectonic fault where seismic events are common.
Regarding this phobia, I can't find any effective remedy, given the nature of the phenomenon I face and its unpredictability.
Therefore, at night, I try to distract my mind with some other activity, such as reading and writing, which is quite effective and makes me think positively.
Case 3.
I also have a phobia of injections. This makes me extremely nervous, so much so that I start to tremble. In fact, in some cases, I even caused accidents when I was being treated as a patient.
For example, once a very kind nurse, due to my drastic and unexpected reaction to the injection, accidentally ended up sticking the needle in my face.
Yes, specifically, in one of my cheeks.
Of course, it wasn't her fault at all; rather, I was responsible for the sudden manifestation of my phobia.
I made several impulsive movements of rejection, which no one expected or could have foreseen.
In fact, I even stood up from the chair where I was sitting while they placed the intramuscular injection in my arm, and that's when the accident happened.
I've gradually reduced this phobia over the years and have tried to combat it by doing my part. Because it's not the injection itself that bothers me, nor the pain it may inflict.
Rather, it's the feeling of anxiety and the qualms that needles generate, and the knowledge that it will be inserted into our body.
Final Thoughts
Finally, we must recognize that phobias are exaggerated reactions that arise within us to events, facts, situations, or elements beyond our control. We have formed a strangely repulsive image or concept of these, which, due to its nature, causes us anxiety or fear.
It is important to understand that phobias can have different levels of impact on our emotionality; likewise, our psychology is compromised as a result.
A thorough investigation may be recommended when experiencing any symptoms similar to "phobias," or simply when you suspect they may exist, because through carelessness, a phobia can develop, compromising our health and well-being, both physical and emotional.
Otherwise, we would be destined to live with our phobias and learn to control them.
As long as they don't interfere with our daily lives, our behaviors, our goals, and our motivation.
