Quisiera iniciar esta publicación dando gracias a @damarysvibra porque con sus iniciativas nos lleva a recorrer esos estrechos laberintos de nuestros sentimientos, que conscientemente no nos detenemos a revisar.
Ahora para entrar de lleno en el tema, debo decir que mi familia cree que soy una mujer fuerte y que yo salgo para adelante sin necesidad de frases motivadoras o libros de auto-ayuda. Yo he leído pocos libros de esta categoría. Uno que me gustó muchísimo porque me reí a carcajadas y me hizo analizar muchos aspectos de mi vida, fue "Soy la version XP: Heterosexual felizmente divorciada" de Ana Flor Raucci", que me lo recomendó mi hermana cuando me separé de mi ex-esposo.
I would like to start this post by thanking @damarysvibra because with her initiatives she takes us through those narrow labyrinths of our feelings, which we consciously don't stop to check.
Now to get right to the point, I must say that my family believes that I am a strong woman and that I get by without the need for motivational quotes or self-help books. I have read few books in this category. One that I really enjoyed because it made me laugh out loud and made me analyze many aspects of my life, was "I am the XP version: Heterosexual happily divorced" by Ana Flor Raucci, which was recommended to me by my sister when I separated from my ex-husband.
Yo no me considero fuerte, porque simplemente soy una llorona de primera categoría. Cuando estoy preocupada lloro. Cuando estoy molesta, lloro. Quizás sea una manera de drenar las emociones, no lo sé. Lo que sí sé es que no me quedo paralizada. Ante alguna eventualidad o emergencia, reacciono de inmediato y cuando todo pasa, siento que se me debilitan las piernas y salen las lagrimitas.
I don't consider myself strong, because I'm just a first-class crier. When I'm worried, I cry. When I'm upset, I cry. When I'm excited, I laugh and tears come out. Maybe it's a way to drain the emotions, I don't know. What I do know is that I don't freeze. When faced with an eventuality or emergency, I react immediately and when everything happens, I feel my legs weaken and the tears come out.
I want to answer some of the questions raised by Damarys. The first one is:
✏️ Are affects the key to self-motivation?
Quiero responder algunas de las preguntas planteadas por Damarys. La primera es:
✏️ ¿Serán los afectos la clave de la automotivación?
Mi respuesta tiene dos vertientes. Por un lado, diría que sí, porque a veces pienso que si no tuviese a mi hijo, hace rato habría tirado la toalla, porque cuando estoy pasando por algún momento de estrés, preocupación o tristeza, pensando que nada vale la pena, veo sus grandes ojitos repletos de pestañas que me miran con esa inocente pureza y pienso que sí, que por él, vale todo. Que tengo que seguir luchando y haciendo todo lo que en mis manos esté para proveerle seguridad, amor, calor de hogar, educación, salud y felicidad.
Por otro lado, recuerdo cuando Gabriel (mi hijo) no estaba en mi vida, yo igual después de una caída, una preocupación, un problema, sacaba fuerzas para seguir adelante, no podía permitirme el lujo de caerme y quedarme en el fondo llorando. Se valía caer, se valía llorar, pero no se valía quedarme pegada en la depresión.
My answer has two sides. On the one hand, I would say yes, because sometimes I think that if I didn't have my son, I would have thrown in the towel a long time ago, because when I am going through a moment of stress, worry or sadness, thinking that nothing is worth it, I see his big eyes full of eyelashes looking at me with that innocent purity and I think that yes, for him, everything is worth it. That I have to keep fighting and doing everything in my power to provide him with security, love, warmth, education, health and happiness.
On the other hand, I remember when Gabriel (my son) wasn't in my life, I still, after a fall, a worry, a problem, I would find the strength to go on, I couldn't afford to fall and stay in the background crying. It was okay to fall, it was okay to cry, but it was not okay to stay stuck in depression.
También está esa necesidad de convivencia que es inherente al ser humano. Creo que todos los seres humanos necesitamos en algún momento, compartir con nuestros afectos, reír con ellos, abrazarlos. Muchas veces no necesitamos que nos den palabras de aliento, con que no nos critiquen es suficiente. Que nos abracen cuando nos quedamos dormidos en e sofá, que cuando cometamos un error, no nos juzguen, sino que nos abracen en silencio. Es lo que yo hago, es la forma que apoyo y como han sido pocas las veces que ha sido recíproco, poco a poco me he ido apartando.
There is also that need for coexistence that is inherent to human beings. I believe that all human beings need, at some point, to share with our loved ones, to laugh with them, to hug them. Many times we don't need them to give us words of encouragement, if they don't criticize us, that's enough. That they hug us when we fall asleep on the couch, that when we make a mistake, they don't judge us, but they hug us in silence. That's what I do, that's the way I support and as there have been few times that it has been reciprocal, little by little I have been moving away.

Pienso que una manera de motivarnos a nosotros mismos, es pensar en positivo y que cada palabra que salga de nuestra boca, sea positiva. Recordemos que la palabra tiene poder, el pensamiento toma la forma que nosotros queramos darle. Hay una frase muy cliché, pero tan real y es: "Deja de ver el vaso medio vacío, comienza a verlo medio lleno".
Cuando mi madre estaba viva y alguien se acercaba con palabras negativas, mi mamá de inmediato decía: "Cancelado, le quito poder".
Cada uno de nosotros tenemos las herramientas para motivarnos a nosotros mismos. En mi caso, cuando me quieren invadir estos pensamientos, comienzo a escribir todo lo que me esté afectando y luego lo quemo y digo:
"Así como estoy quemando este escrito, así mismo quemo mis pensamientos negativos, los suelto los libero y los envío al sitio que le correspondan estar. En armonía para todo el mundo, de acuerdo con la voluntad divina, bajo la gracia y de manera perfecta".
I think that one way to motivate ourselves is to think positive and that every word that comes out of our mouth is positive. Remember that the word has power, the thought takes the form that we want to give it. There is a very cliché phrase, but so real and it is: "Stop seeing the glass half empty, start seeing it half full".
When my mother was alive and someone approached her with negative words, my mother would immediately say: "Canceled, I take away the power".
We each have the tools to motivate ourselves. In my case, when these thoughts want to invade me, I start writing down everything that is affecting me and then I burn it and say:
"Just as I am burning this writing, so I burn my negative thoughts, I release them and send them to the place where they belong to be". In harmony for the whole world, in accordance with the divine will, under grace and in a perfect way."
✏️ How would I help a demotivated person?
✏️ ¿Cómo ayudaría yo a una persona desmotivada?
Como siempre lo he hecho. Con presencia, con cariño. Claro que todos somos diferentes y por ende manejamos las emociones de manera distinta. Hay personas que necesitan que se les diga lo mucho que valen, lo importantes que son para uno y para el resto.
Hay otras que solo necesitan que estemos cerca, sin decir mucho, abrazándolos cuando lo necesitan. Nunca me alejo de alguien que está deprimido y necesita motivación. Tampoco soy de las personas que acosa llamando, preguntando mil veces cómo se siente. Hay que respetar el espacio y el silencio de la otra persona. Todo en exceso es malo.
As I have always done. With presence, with affection. Of course, we are all different and therefore handle emotions differently. There are people who need to be told how much they are worth, how important they are to us and to others.
There are others who just need us to be around, not saying much, hugging them when they need it. I never walk away from someone who is depressed and needs motivation. Nor am I one of those people who harasses by calling, asking a thousand times how they feel. You have to respect the other person's space and silence. Too much of everything is bad.
✏️ How do I feel in the relationship of affection-need for approval, acceptance and ego?
✏️ ¿Cómo me siento en la relación afecto- necesidad de aprobación, aceptación y ego?
Este tipo de relaciones no son sanas, porque no hay nada más agotador que estar todo el tiempo buscando la aprobación y aceptación del otro. No conduce sino a una caída paulatina de la autoestima. La aprobación, la aceptación debe venir desde adentro de cada uno de nosotros. No podemos buscar afuera lo que no podemos dar internamente.
Esto trae como consecuencia, la baja autoestima de quien necesita ser aprobado y aceptado y un incremento del ego de la otra persona. Recordemos que ego y autoestima no son lo mismo.
This type of relationship is not healthy, because there is nothing more exhausting than to be all the time looking for the approval and acceptance of the other. It only leads to a gradual fall in self-esteem. Approval and acceptance must come from within each one of us. We cannot look outside for what we cannot give internally.
This results in low self-esteem of the one who needs to be approved and accepted and an increase in the ego of the other person. Let us remember that ego and self-esteem are not the same thing.
