Muchas cosas tienen sentido cuando dejamos atrás emociones negativas que tienden a ser muy persuasivas. Es más, volvemos experiencias en grandes consejos cuando logramos hacer las paces con ellas porque lo que separa a cualquier historia de aquellas con moraleja es cuando no hay buenos ni malos, sino cosas que ocurren que tienen consecuencias.
Los jóvenes adultos de la sociedad actual y en parte también los adolescentes emergentes, sienten que tienen un tremendo miedo encima: El quedarse atrás.
Queremos hacer perfectamente todo lo que la vida nos pone en frente porque de otro modo la dificultad incrementa. Se debe por supuesto a una emoción que hemos estado descomprimiendo activamente los últimos post en este blog: La vergüenza.
¿Por qué nos quedamos atrás?
Tuvimos que dejar de estudiar porque necesitabamos dinero para la inscripción primero, así que nos proponemos acumularlo. Puede que algún familiar cercano se haya enfermado, así que no nos quedó otro remedio que posponer nuestros sueños para cuidarlo. También puede que hayamos conseguido otros caminos mejores para nosotros, así que hicimos un cambio de carrera. La indecisión, la ansiedad, la depresión... todo suma y, como siempre, en algún punto los seres humanos decidimos darle un valor ilusorio a la perfección, como lo hemos hecho con el oro, con el objeto de compararnos unos con otros, casi siempre para mal en la sociedad narcicista en la que hemos nacido.
Consecuencias
Pues bien, si tienes unos 18 años y llevas un tiempo iniciando en una carrera universitaria, generalmente es en ese proceso donde nos damos cuenta de si es realmente lo que teníamos en mente. Vale la pena reflexionar un poco más en ello.
La palabra "ingeniero", tiene un significado muy diferente para alguien que estudia para serlo a alguien que ya lo es y trabaja de eso. Las personas que ya están ejerciendo una profesión ya saben lo que se les pide hacer todos los días, el coste emocional de cada una de sus acciones y qué tanto pueden contar con su propia energía para lograr los resultados deseados. La persona que estudia ingeniería casi siempre no tiene ni idea de lo que realmente es ejercer como ingeniero. Esto lo sé porque tengo parientes cercanos que saben muy bien que la universidad es solo el medio para tener un título, porque la formación en el campo es casi siempre muy diferente.
Así las cosas, es fácil equivocarse en una desición tan importante, respecto a algo que haremos por el resto de nuestras vidas si no la tomamos con suficiente criterio.
Al respecto tengo una experiencia:
Aquellos años tomé una desición para contentar a los demás ignorando por completo mis propios sentimientos y capacidades con el propósito de ser un "buen chico". ¿Te ha pasado? Ser un buen hijo, buen ciudadano, buen familiar... ¿quién pone ese criterio? casi siempre los demás. Pasaron bastantes años en ese proceso y con muy poca pasión cuando choqué con el hecho de que iba a hacer algo que no me apasiona para toda la vida. Entonces me paralizé.
En esas circunstancias me habría caído perfecto ir a un psicólogo, pero era un taboo bastante común admitir que tenías un problema, muy especialmente si eres un hombre. Al menos en mi entorno familiar, admitir debilidad era algo mal visto e incluso digno de asco. Tuve que hacerlo a escondidas, momento en que comencé a tratar de dar forma a mi propio ser con el que durante años había mantenido una gran distancia.
El punto es que no es sino recientemente, a finales de mis 34 años que comencé a experimentar una mejoría tangible sobre mi cuerpo y mi mente a través del ejercicio psicofísico y desarrollando el tema de la descompresión emocional. Incluso puede que todavía tenga un gran trecho por delante a pesar de haber recuperado mi funcionalidad.
Cuando estás en mis zapatos todo se siente muy diferente porque todo ahora posee una carga intrínseca de vergüenza encima e incluso crees que todos han de estarte juzgando secretamente. No hace falta mucho para recaer en otra depresión, preguntándote para qué hacer nada si las vida nos ha dejado atrás. Fue entonces que me pregunté; ¿Según quien debería sentirme avergonzado? Desde luego, no la vida, que con sus variopintas maneras es la causante de mi desconcierto. Entonces me di cuenta que sin saberlo estaba cayendo en el juego de una cultura inconsciente.
A veces la mejor manera de ganar es no jugando. Cuando alguien trata de hechar mano a tus debilidades para avergonzarte, o de hechos que no te van bien, no te tomes demasiado en serio y ríete bastante. Tu atacante estará desconcertado porque él también sufre diariamente con su propia insignificancia. Le costará creer que es posible estar por fuera, incluso con gran desventaja.
Mientras tengamos aliento en nuestros cuerpos, aún la felicidad sigue a nuestro alcance sin importar tu edad. Puede que en algún punto la vergüenza haya hecho que te rindieras y hayas caído en vicios mientras esperas el final. Pues bien, así la vida se te hará tan miserable como larga. Dejemos de jugar el juego que solo beneficia a unos pocos y decidamos optar por lo que nos hará más productivos: Tener esperanza y sentirnos mejor. ¿No te parece un buen trato?

Many things make sense when we leave behind negative emotions that tend to be very persuasive. What's more, we turn experiences into great advice when we manage to make peace with them because what separates any story from those with a moral is when there are no good or bad guys, but things that happen that have consequences.
Young adults in today's society, and in part also emerging adolescents, feel that they have a tremendous fear: Being left behind.
We want to do perfectly everything that life puts in front of us because otherwise the difficulty increases. It is of course due to an emotion that we have been actively decompressing the last few posts on this blog: Shame.
Why are we left behind?
We had to stop studying because we needed money for registration first, so we set out to work first and accumulate it. A close family member may have gotten sick, so we had no choice but to postpone our dreams to take care of them. We may also have found other paths that were better for us, so we made a career change. Indecision, anxiety, depression... it all adds up and, as always, at some point human beings decide to give an illusory value to perfection, as we have done with gold, in order to compare ourselves with each other, almost always for the worse in the narcissistic society in which we were born.
Consequences
Well, if you are about 18 years old and have been starting a university degree for some time, it is generally in that process where we realize if it is really what we had in mind. It is worth reflecting a little more on this.
The word "engineer" has a very different meaning for someone who studies it to one who already is and works as one. People who are already practicing a profession already know what they are asked to do every day, the emotional cost of each of their actions and how much they can count on their own energy to achieve the desired results. The person who studies engineering almost always has no idea what it is really like to work as an engineer. I know this because I have close relatives who know very well that university is only the means to have a degree, because training in the field is almost always very different.
This being the case, it is easy to make a mistake in such an important decision, regarding something we will do for the rest of our lives if we do not make it with sufficient judgment.
I have experience in this regard.
Those years I made a decision to please others, completely ignoring my own feelings and abilities in order to be a "good boy." Has it happened to you? Being a good son, a good citizen, a good family member... who sets that criterion? almost always other people. Many years passed in that process and with very little passion when I collided with the fact that I was going to do something I am not passionate about for a lifetime. Then I became paralyzed.
In those circumstances it would have been perfect for me to go to a psychologist, but it was a fairly common taboo to admit that you had a problem, especially if you were a man. At least in my family environment, admitting weakness was frowned upon and even worthy of disgust. I had to do it secretly, at which point I began to try to give shape to my own being, from which I had maintained a great distance for years.
The point is that it is not until recently, at the end of my 34 years that I began to experience a tangible improvement in my body and my mind through psychophysical exercise and developing the theme of emotional decompression. I may even still have a long way to go despite having regained my functionality.
When you are in my shoes everything feels very different because everything now has an intrinsic load of shame on top of it and you even think that everyone must be secretly judging you. It doesn't take much to relapse into another depression, wondering why do anything if life has left us behind. It was then that I asked myself; According to whom should I feel ashamed? Of course, not life, which with its varied ways is the cause of my confusion. Then I realized that without knowing it I was falling into the game of an unconscious culture.
Sometimes the best way to win is not to play. When someone tries to use your weaknesses to embarrass you, or about things that don't go well for you, don't take yourself too seriously and laugh a lot. Your attacker will be bewildered because he too suffers daily with his own insignificance. He will find it difficult to believe that it is possible to be on the outside, even at a great disadvantage.
As long as we have breath in our bodies, happiness is still within our reach no matter your age. Maybe at some point shame has made you give up and fall into vices while waiting for the end. Well, then your life will be as miserable as it is long. Let's stop playing the game that only benefits a few and decide to opt for what will make us more productive: Have hope and feel better.
