Llueve y los charcos aparecen con reflejos de un mundo distorsionado y confuso, como el mundo de los sueños y el de mis recuerdos.
Cuando a veces, luego de la lluvia, salgo a caminar, con las calles, fachadas, aceras, etc., aún mojadas, despiertan en mi memoria recuerdos de mi infancia, remembranzas de mi madre y la lluvia y sus charcos, aquellos misteriosos charcos…
Les cuento:
De niña imaginaba que había un mundo en las lagunas que dejaba la lluvia por todos lados, le decía a mi madre que allá en los charcos había vida. Me inquietaban aquellas figuras confusas y distorsionadas reflejadas en el piso “Las vemos en el agua del piso, mamá, pero creo que están más allá, en otro lugar, tienen cielos, personas, carros, árboles y perritos, también, pero, mamá, esos seres raros que no sé qué son, con los ojos grandes y abiertos y que me asustan, creo que sí están aquí, tal vez son los guardianes de las puertas que llevan al mundo de los charcos, mamá” mi madre me cargaba en sus brazos para evitar que me mojara los zapatos mientras me explicaba: "Esas figuras que ves, son reflejos, es lo mismo que pasa con los espejos y lo que llamas 'ojos', son solo burbujas que forman el agua y el aire, son como las pompas de jabón con las que juegas, hija, y los otros 'ojos' que dices, son solo ondas que forman las gotas o las piedritas al caer en el agua", pero yo que no entendía muy bien o tal vez no lo quería hacer, seguía pensando que ahí había vida, cosa que me fascinaba, bueno, de vez en cuando los ojos que parecían mirarme y algunas figuras me asustaban.
A veces le decía a mi madre que los charcos y las nubes se parecían porque también hacían formas y figuras, mientras calladamente yo pensaba que tal vez esos eran los verdaderos habitantes de los charcos.
Los años han pasado, pero mi gusto por los reflejos y otras figuras de los charcos se mantiene y a veces, después de la lluvia camino entre gente y carros, sorteando huecos y con mucho cuidado, saltando entre charcos.
Una vez vi un charco que se tragó casi un carro entero, afortunadamente las personas pudieron salir ilesos y riendo, solo llamó mi atención una muchachita que le aseguraba a su mamá que muchos ojos muy grandes la miraban desde el gran charco y unas personas le decían que fuera con ellas, pero eso es una historia para otro día…

Once I saw a puddle that swallowed almost a whole car, fortunately the people were able to get out unharmed and laughing, only one little girl caught my attention who assured her mother that many big eyes were looking at her from the big puddle and some people were telling her to go with them, but that is a story for another day...
