Hola mis queridos amigos de Holos&Lotus, Siempre es un placer poder compartir temas tan importantes y necesarios con esta comunidad, cómo lo es en este caso el Autoestima, está palabra que quizás muchos años atrás, en la etapa de mi adolescencia no sabía a ciencia cierta que significaba, pero tristemente padecí y sufrí momentos desagradables y dolorosos por falta de ella y de lo que significa en la vida de un ser humano, y quiero compartir con ustedes a modo muy personal un poco de mi experiencia en ese tiempo, cuando mi mente, mi corazón , mis pensamientos y la percepción que tenía hacia mi, parecían ir en contra mía.
Hello my dear friends of Holus & Lotus, It is always a pleasure to be able to share such important and necessary topics with this community, as in this case Self-esteem, this word that perhaps many years ago, in my adolescence I did not know for sure what it meant, but sadly I suffered and endured unpleasant and painful moments due to the lack of it and what it means in the life of a human being, and I want to share with you in a very personal way a little of my experience at that time, when my mind, my heart, my thoughts and the perception I had towards myself, seemed to go against me.
Siempre recuerdo con agradecimiento y quizás algo de tristeza y nostalgia aquellos tiempos, porque en medio de todo fue lo que en mi caso me permitió fortalecer mi carácter, y lo que soy hoy, ya que realmente no tenía claridad de lo importante y necesario que era conocerme, amarme, aceptarme, y el darme la oportunidad de sentir con libertad, de exaltar mis capacidades y cualidades, teniendo convicción que tenía todo el derecho a ello.
A veces pienso que lo aprendí un poco tarde, quizás, siempre imagino como hubiera sido todo , pero como dice una frase de un artista que me gusta mucho, (Carlos Rivera)El hubiera no existe.
I always look back on those times with gratitude, and perhaps with some sadness and nostalgia, because in the midst of everything, it was what allowed me to strengthen my character and who I am today. I wasn't really clear about how important and necessary it was to know myself, love myself, accept myself, and give myself the opportunity to feel freely, to enhance my abilities and qualities, convinced that I had every right to do so.
Yo solía ser una chica super solitaria, callada, muy poco sociable, sentía que siempre había una batalla en mi mente que visualizaba como una madeja de lana o hilo enredado, al que intentas halar una hebra para desenredar y lo que hacía era todo lo contrario. No me sentía bien conmigo, con lo que veía en el espejo, con los comentarios que en algunas ocasiones escuchaba y venían de personas que no tenían quizás la mínima idea del impacto que eso causaría en la vida de la persona que lo estaba escuchando ,pero ahí estaba yo; reforzando y alimentando mis miedos ,mis temores y mis inseguridades con cosas externas. Me sentía tan cohibida que no me daba la oportunidad de vivir cosas tan sencillas que para el resto era tan normal como por ejemplo, ilusionarme con un chico, creer que a alguien le podía agradar mi persona, para mí eso era imposible, pero esos pensamientos eran sencillamente el resultado de la falta de estima propia, aún no me conocía, no había identificado lo valiosa que era, todas las capacidades que tenía y obviamente no podía reflejar algo en lo que no creía y no estaba segura, fueron tiempos difíciles, y sobre todo porque en la adolescencia batalla con tantas etapas por las que debes pasar y si no hay seguridad en ti, es aún más complejo.
I used to be a super lonely, quiet, and unsociable girl. I felt like there was always a battle going on in my mind, which I visualized as a tangled ball of wool or thread. You tried to pull a strand to untangle it, but all I ended up doing was the complete opposite. I didn't feel good about myself, about what I saw in the mirror, about the comments I sometimes heard from people who perhaps had no idea of the impact that this would have on the life of the person listening to it. But there I was; reinforcing and feeding my fears, my fears, and my insecurities with external things. I felt so inhibited that I didn't give myself the opportunity to experience such simple things that for the rest were so normal, such as, for example, getting excited about a boy, believing that someone could like me, for me that was impossible, but those thoughts were simply the result of a lack of self-esteem, I still didn't know myself, I hadn't identified how valuable I was, all the capabilities I had and obviously I couldn't reflect something I didn't believe in and wasn't sure about, they were difficult times, and above all because in adolescence you struggle with so many stages that you have to go through and if there is no security in you, it is even more complex.
En algunas ocasiones parecía ser contradictoria mi forma de ser, porque era callada y temerosa, pero a la vez me atrevía a liderar por ejemplo muchas actividades en mi aula de clase, no sé si era un intento de mi parte por aniquilar la timidez en mi, o que realmente esa era yo y los temores y miedo querían aniquilarme a mi y mi esencia. Y esa era yo, una chica que parecía estar oculta detrás de una pared, asomando su cabeza para observar el mundo, desde ese. "su lugar seguro ". Pero poco a poco fui descubriéndome, y no faltaron las lágrimas y las miradas indiferente hacia el espejo. Pero con pequeños cambio inicie mi proceso hacia el amor propio, hablarme bonito frente a ese espejo en el que tanto me hice daño, a identificar mis cualidades, lo inteligente y elocuente que era, las capacidades de liderazgo que tenía, la empatía que hacía parte innata de mi y lo amigable que podía llegar a ser( eso si, con un circulo muy pequeño jeje). Luego un día decidí soltarme el cabello y descubrí lo hermoso que eran esos rulos que bajaban como espirales, luego empecé admirar ese color de piel tan hermoso que Dios me había regalado, como decía uno de mis hermanos, un caramelo en su punto de ebullición, y así fui dándome cuenta de lo hermosa que era en todos los aspectos.
Sometimes my way of being seemed contradictory, because I was quiet and fearful, but at the same time I dared to lead, for example, many activities in my classroom. I don't know if it was an attempt on my part to annihilate the shyness in me, or if that was really me and the fears and dread wanted to annihilate me and my essence. And that was me, a girl who seemed to be hidden behind a wall, sticking her head out to observe the world, from that "her safe place." But little by little I began to discover myself, and there was no shortage of tears and indifferent glances in the mirror. But with small changes, I began my process towards self-love, speaking nicely to myself in front of that mirror in which I hurt myself so much, to identify my qualities, how intelligent and eloquent I was, the leadership skills I had, the empathy that was an innate part of me and how friendly I could be (although, with a very small circle, hehe). Then one day I decided to let my hair down and discovered how beautiful those curls that spiraled down were. Then I began to admire that beautiful skin color that God had given me, as one of my brothers used to say, a candy at its boiling point, and so I began to realize how beautiful I was in every way.
fui descubriendo el poder del Amor, ese que sin duda alguna sana, que te transforma, te reconstruye y que puede llegar hacerte cambiar de opinión y perspectiva de algo que quizás parecía imposible, porque ese es el poder que tiene, sin dejar de lado que el proceso puede ser un poco doloroso, un poco incómodo y a veces parece ser desesperanzador, pero hay que persistir en el con la razón y con el corazón. Hoy día soy una chica que se ama plena y conscientemente, y que por amor a ella se dedica tiempo, le dedica tiempo a los que ama, aprendió a decir no, a poner límites, a no cargarse con lo que piensen los demás y a seguir construyendo su mejor versión. Hay días difíciles porque uno sigue batallando como cualquier ser humano con emociones, temores y miedos, pero esos hacen parte de la vida, lo importante es que no vivas para ellos, si no que sepas como superarlos.
I was discovering the power of Love, which undoubtedly heals, transforms you, rebuilds you, and can make you change your mind and perspective on something that perhaps seemed impossible, because that is the power it has, without forgetting that the process can be a little painful, a little uncomfortable, and sometimes seems hopeless, but you have to persist in it with reason and with the heart. Today I am a girl who loves herself fully and consciously, and who, out of love for herself, dedicates time to herself, dedicates time to those she loves, learned to say no, to set limits, not to be burdened by what others think, and to continue building her best version of herself. There are difficult days because one continues to struggle like any human being with emotions, fears, and anxieties, but those are part of life, the important thing is that you do not live for them, but that you know how to overcome them.
