Today I saw a new competition organized in the Visual Shots community by the respected @visualshots and I remembered that last night I dreamed that I watched a large squirrel jumping from branch to branch of a tall tree and this connected all the puzzles of the puzzle together since I have a series photographs showing the squirrel from different angles.
Squirrels are wild animals although they often live next to people but they are smart and understand that during the period when cold weather sets in people’s curiosity and the desire to feed the squirrel nuts will not leave the squirrel hungry.
I took these photographs on the edge of the city park on the territory of the local history museum.
It was an interesting interaction with a red fluffy squirrel who felt good in this place her magnificent fur and good mood are evidence of this.
In photographs I appreciate the presence of some kind of emotion the photograph should speak to us. In the first photograph I see the curiosity of the squirrel, which was interested in looking at me no less interesting than I was in looking at the squirrel.
But in such a situation curiosity always fights with fear.
As for me I was afraid that the squirrel would run away before I could photograph it.
This communication continued for some time and a second lasted an eternity.
Everything comes to an end and at some point the squirrel lost interest in me and decided to walk along the branches of the tree.
Periodically she made dizzying jumps, perhaps she wanted to show off her flying skills to the front line.
My Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX300 is already morally and technically outdated but it allowed me to keep a running squirrel at a fairly close distance due to its powerful zoom.
Sometimes the squirrel stopped and her gaze seemed very thoughtful probably she was thinking about where a nut might be hiding on the tree but it was a poplar and there were no nuts here.
I like watching squirrels but they are not an animal that I would like to have in my home as a pet its element is the wild it has to be that way.
It seems that the squirrel is as light as a feather but you need to see how the branches of the tree bend under the squirrel, especially when it jumps from branch to branch.
This could have gone on for a very long time, but I had important things to do and I needed to hurry to make up for the time lost while communicating with the squirrel.
But these few minutes gave me some good photographs I was happy!
Zoom in on a photo for a closer view.
More to come!
Enjoy viewing the photos and reading the article!
Have a blessed day!
