Today we are going with a different post, leaving aside street photography because you have to vary, right? I get bored easily when I share or do only one type or genre of photography. So I am going to share with you these photos I took of the flamingos during my visit last week at the ecological park in Buenos Aires. These animals are at the end of the park, they are the last ones and they are quite far away, luckily I had the 70-300mm lens and my intention was to take really close pictures of them.
They were all piled up in a kind of island inside the park so I couldn't take a picture of just one in particular, in fact now that I think about it, I should have taken some pictures in a general shot, where you can see this island and the surroundings, but I just focused on getting the details of these birds with the close-up lens, their plumage, their faces and their general physiognomy.
They are a very striking species perhaps because of their colors and how elegant they look, although not all flamingos are usually pink, they can vary between orange and some are usually almost entirely white. I was reading a bit about them and an interesting aspect is that according to the uniqueness of their beaks allows them to separate mud from food. They feed mainly on algae and crustaceans. So every day we learn something new.
On the other hand, while I was detailing these photos I noticed that on their legs they have bracelets with numbers, I can imagine that it is to keep track of how many there are in the park in case one gets lost or misplaced, since there are really a lot of them. It is one of the most visited attractions in the ecopark and the lines to access the viewpoint and appreciate them are huge, especially on weekends.
I am not a bird photographer at all, it is not what I do but I know that there are many photographers here who are passionate about this genre, nature and animal photographers who can appreciate these photos much better, as well as people who are animal lovers, connoisseurs or who are able to live with them in certain parts of their countries.
Without anything else to add, I say goodbye for now and I hope these images have been of your interest in any aspect. Thank you very much for stopping by and appreciating. Greetings from Buenos Aires.
