Tenía que conformarme con mirar, dejar los pensamientos en la distancia. Esa distancia, como una barrera incomprensible que se pierde y se hace infinita.

Donde las palabras se transforman en plegarias y no queda más que esperar que regresen con la misma intensidad que fueron exclamadas.

Permanecí sentado durante horas al otro lado del umbral que nos separa, sintiendo como el amor cambiaba de forma. Mis recuerdos eran frágiles como nunca lo fueron, una débil reminiscencia condenada a desaparecer.

Intentaba recordar la línea de su rostro y la cándida sonrisa de siempre la cual guardaba especialmente para mí.

Pero mi memoria se desvanecía tratando de visualizar nuestro último encuentro.

Esa ola de nostalgias que me niego a reconocer, trae a mí, su silueta, recorriendo el jardín y sus ojos tristes, dormidos entre las flores.

Y me sentí un amante embaucado llorando misteriosamente a una rosa marchita, viendo pasar el tiempo al pie de un árbol deseco. Un ser olvidado que se quiebra en un rincón, mientras mira la barrera interpuesta entre el amor que una vez nos unió.

¡Es indomable el amor!, que nunca se pierde.

Esa sensación que atraviesa el tiempo y la distancia, que desafía a la muerte y le pide una explicación.

¿Cuál es la cura para un corazón roto?

Este corazón, que combate a duelo la melancolía, desde aquella vez, cuando envuelta en luz, cruzó el umbral y dejó a su paso, cernida, una estela del más profundo dolor. Quedando un inmenso vacío que jamás he podido llenar.

Entonces, pronuncio su nombre, guardando la esperanza de que ella responda, mi voz resuena entre los jardines y regresa en silencio.

¿Acaso la ausencia es tan fuerte como el mismo amor?

¿Será la distancia, una prueba? o será la revelación del final.

Una prueba de fuego que debemos pasar para sellar nuestro juramento de amarnos tan puramente que ni la misma muerte pudiera interferir entre nosotros.

Y cada día me convenzo más de nuestra fatal elección, no sé, si para bien o para mal, pero, siento que me desbordo de un amor mal herido.

Y lamento tu ausencia. Me compadezco de mis días por venir. Cuento las horas mientras te espero y pienso que debí ser yo quién se fuera primero, aunque no le desearía a nadie que llegase a sentir lo que ahora, yo siento.

Si pudiera devolver el tiempo, yo cambiaría mi elección. Alguno de los dos debería dar un paso. Tal vez, ella, pueda volver, caminando sobre los pétalos que le adornaron, o tal vez, yo, podría seguir el rastro de la ausencia que quedó en su lugar.

I had to settle for looking, leaving the thoughts in the distance. That distance, like an incomprehensible barrier that is lost and becomes infinite.

Where the words become prayers and there is nothing left but to wait for them to return with the same intensity that they were exclaimed.

I sat for hours on the other side of the threshold that separates us, feeling how love changed form. My memories were fragile as they never were, a faint reminiscence doomed to fade.

I tried to remember the line of his face and the candid smile of always which he kept especially for me.

But my memory was fading trying to visualize our last meeting.

That wave of nostalgia that I refuse to recognize, brings to me, her silhouette, touring the garden and her sad eyes, asleep among the flowers.
