As human beings that we are, it is in our nature to change constantly from every point of view, mainly what is constantly evolving is our perception of things, what is good, bad or as we usually say "normal." Our perception of things undergoes constant transformations due to all kinds of external agents and mainly by ourselves, our perception of what is normal can take any path both good and not so good, for this reason what is normal for everyone today can and most likely tomorrow we will see it in a very different way. Due to these constant changes we can say that humans are really complex beings but sometimes not so much, the truth is that I would say that right now our general perception of what is "normal" is on a rather murky path so to speak, and it is something that I consider alarming.

Como seres humanos que somos esta en nuestra naturaleza el cambiar constantemente desde todo punto de vista, principalmente lo que está en constante evolución es nuestra percepción de las cosas de lo que es bueno, malo o como solemos decir lo "normal". Nuestra percepción de las cosas sufre transformaciones constantes debido a todo tipo de agentes externos y principalmente por nosotros mismo valga la redundancia, nuestra percepción de lo que es normal puede tomar cualquier camino tanto el bueno como el no tan bueno, por esto mismo lo que es normal para todos hoy puede y lo más seguro es que mañana lo veamos de una forma muy diferente. Debido a estos constantes cambios podemos decir que los humanos son seres realmente complejos pero algunas veces no tanto, la verdad es que diría que justo ahora nuestra percepción general de lo que es "normal" está en un camino bastante turbio por decirlo de alguna manera, y es algo que considero alarmante.

Sometimes I am surprised by the ability we humans have to adapt, some take longer than others but in the end it is always achieved. Regardless of the circumstances, we simply accept (most of the time without noticing it) that what seemed very great or horrible, now was just part of a routine, part of our daily life and that is where we fall into an abyss that goes unnoticed, a hole that is nothing more than a trap where we begin to normalize everything that happens to us and we see daily, whether it is something good or something that is very bad. It becomes just another habit, part of our life and monotony.

A veces me sorprende la capacidad que tenemos los seres humanos de adaptarnos, a algunos les toma más tiempo que a otros pero al final por lo general siempre se logra. Sin importar las circunstancias, simplemente aceptamos (la mayoría de las veces sin notarlo) que eso que parecía muy grandioso o horrible, ahora no era más que parte de una rutina, parte de nuestro día a día y es allí donde caemos en un abismo que pasa desapercibido, un agujero que no es más que una trampa donde empezamos a normalizar todo lo que nos sucede y vemos a diario, sea algo bueno o algo que está muy mal. Se vuelve una costumbre más, parte de nuestra vida y monotonía.

If you think about it or if you look at it from the outside with a cool head you may be surprised at what we are capable of normalizing and all in order to survive without losing our sanity, that without noticing it because of those little things that we let pass by we become increasingly cold and insensitive to situations and events that are aberrant, but for some it is the daily bread and it is something that no matter how atrocious it is for them is part of their reality of their present. Normally we tend to infer many things from the abnormal reactions that a friend or acquaintance may have to a certain situation without knowing the background and the real reason for their indifferent or possibly very striking and excessive response.

Si lo piensas o si lo observas desde afuera con cabeza fría puedes llegar a sorprenderte lo que somos capaces de normalizar y todo con el fin de sobrevivir sin perder la cordura, que sin notarlo por esas pequeñas cosas que vamos dejando pasar nos vamos volviendo cada vez más fríos e insensible ante situaciones y eventos que son aberrantes, pero para algunos es el pan de cada día y es algo que por más atroz que sea para ellos es parte de su realidad, de su presente. Normalmente tendemos a inferir muchas cosas por las reacciones anormales que pueda tener algún amigo o conocido ante una determinada situación sin saber el transfondo y el verdadero motivo de su respuesta tan indiferente o posiblemente muy llamativa y excesiva.

We normalize situations that we should not because commonly it does not depend only on us, simply it is not in our power to put an end to it for that reason it is presented before us two options that are not favorable. The problem is that if we do not normalize whatever we are experiencing on a daily basis, something could happen that I could not say if it is worse or better and you may have guessed it, but unfortunately this situation could generate a psychological trauma bringing as a consequence one more obstacle in our life, which in the worst case makes it impossible for us to do what we should or what we want to do on a daily basis. For this reason we tend to put a patch to the situation normalizing that which is simply not right, and the problem with this is that although we can continue to do what we want we will live with a twisted perspective that can become permanent if you are not mentally strong.

Normalizamos situaciones que no deberíamos porque comúnmente no depende solo de nosotros, simplemente no está en nuestro poder el ponerle fin, por eso se presenta ante nosotros dos opciones que no son favorables. El problema radica en que si no se normaliza lo que sea que estemos experimentando a diario podría suceder algo que no sabría decir si es peor o mejor y puede que lo hayas adivinado, sí lamentablemente puede que esta situación nos genere un trauma psicológico trayendo como consecuencia un obstáculo más en nuestra vida, que en el peor de los caso nos imposibilite hacer lo que debemos o lo que queremos hacer diariamente. Por esto mismo solemos ponerle un parche a la situación normalizando eso que simplemente no es lo correcto, y el problema con esto es que aunque podemos seguir haciendo lo que queremos vamos a vivir con una perspectiva torcida que puede llegar a ser permanente si no eres mentalmente fuerte.

On the other hand, this situation may involve important or dangerous people with whom it would not be a good idea to relate, opening the door to the disturbing doubt and the constant fear that the problem may not be solved causing an even greater conflict and therefore the problem becomes even more difficult with an impossible solution.

Por el temor que nos pueda llegar a generar el enfrentar dicha situación que viene con muchas consecuencias las cuales parece más sencillo "evitar", o por otro lado esta determinada situación puede que involucre a personas importantes o peligrosas con las que no sería una buena idea relacionarse, abriéndole la puerta a la perturbadora duda y el miedo constante de que el problema quizás no se solucione ocasionando un conflicto aún mayor y por ende el problema se convierta en algo aún más difícil con una solución imposible.

When a trauma to a certain situation is generated, we seek by all means to avoid having to experience something like that, and what we can do to avoid it can easily be labeled as excessive or even irrational, everything that involves a trauma limits us and being limited is something that we really do not want under any circumstances to be part of, for this very reason it is normal lately to turn something very annoying or toxic into something normal to be able to go on with our lives and keep our sanity, but deep down it is clear that we are fooling ourselves and we pretend to cover the sun with one finger when we know it is not possible.

Cuando se genera un trauma a una determinada situación se busca por todos los medios evitar tener que experimentar algo así, y lo que se puede llegar a hacer para evitarlo puede tildarse fácilmente de excesivo o hasta de irracional, todo lo que conlleva un trauma nos limita y estar limitados es algo de lo que realmente no queremos bajo ninguna circunstancia ser parte de, por esto mismo lo normal últimamente es precisamente eso volver algo muy molesto o tóxico en algo normal para poder seguir con nuestras vidas y mantener la cordura, pero en el fondo está claro que nos estamos engañando y pretendemos tapar el sol con un solo dedo cuando sabemos que no es posible.

Nowadays it's so common to normalize everything that it has become something pretty normal, and you have no idea how frightening this is. The insensitivity in people is more noticeable every day and the responses that some people may have to terrible things like a murdered person or a rape for example, are very far from what would be a rational and normal response, just a gesture of "I don't care" or a typical phrase "nothing new" to leave it there, and in the worst case blaming the murdered/raped person saying things like "God knows what he/she did to end up like that" or something similar, is simply disturbing but again the world is in constant movement and what we are given to understand is that life is short, there is not much time, we have to move on and we do move on, but all incomplete and broken.

En la actualidad es tan común el normalizar todo que se volvió algo normal, y no tienen idea lo aterrador que es esto. La insensibilidad en las personas es más notable cada día y las respuestas que tienen algunos ante cosas terribles como una persona asesinada o una violación por ejemplo, están muy alejadas de lo que sería una respuesta racional y normal, basta con un gesto de "no me importa" o una típica frase "nada nuevo" para dejarlo hasta allí, y en el peor de los casos culpar a la persona asesinada/violada diciendo cosas como "sabrá Dios que habrá hecho para que terminara así" o algo por el estilo, es simplemente preocupante pero una vez más el mundo está en constante movimiento y lo que nos dan a entender es que la vida es corta, no hay mucho tiempo, hay que seguir adelante y sí seguimos, pero todos incompletos y rotos.
