i wake up (to see that)
she's hunched over,
tucking trauma
down her throat (& after this),
she twists her spine
& licks the blood (then)
she climbs me & our bodies sing,
our ship begins to break
caressed in the fist of storm where
i hear my neighbour braying on her flute (&)
it gets sharper with each crack, our pelvis
break(ing) against another tidal wave (but)
her music is on the bed (&)
it brings her body too, (&)
her eyes are lighthouses ashore (just as)
the sound is her mouth (&)
i watch it reshape, unhinge her jaw
to swallow our noise' birth (but)
my partner doesn't see her (with)
her eyes (are) blindfolded; (&) the darkness
is inside us (so) she says: the shore comes for me,
the tides brings us near;
i'm coming, we groan (&)
i lose the ledge & this music box
of soft mouths tastes dopamine in our brains (then)
she licks us all over & we become
shadows heard in the flat woodwind
instrument of her mouth (inside which)
my partner asks: are we dead yet? (&)
i say: your body is a city's
shrine & I'm a priestess (but)
the piper says: your voices
are mine & you will know
the longing of silence
in her/(my) mouth, (where) we find the landlord's
girlfriend, a bike man & the law
student's roommate,
everything (is) like before the word
found voice & God said:
let there be light.
Hello beautiful one, yes you, my dear reader. You know me well. You have read my experiments with fiction and poetry over the years. Today, I bring good tidings. I have been considering the use of conjunctions in rendering a piece which is just one sentence. But I never take the easy way when I think about you. I want you to think on what I have done and how it makes you feel. I want to read your thoughts on the complications and errors that I must have made. Remember this is an experiment and you are here to judge the possibilities of this work of art.
Below it a poem with the lengthy title above. It can be read with or without the words in italics and brackets. I make use of strike throughs as well for areas where it is important for you to note that you can remove the words. Read it and enjoy it and talk about it and tell me all about it. Welcome. 🤗 💕
