Ruleset Focus

In this week of Battle Mage Secrets, we shall be diving into the FABFOUR
ruleset, a recent addition to the dynamic Splinterlands battles. This brand-new ruleset restrict players to field up to only FOUR
units, excluding the Summoner, for the battle. Alongside FABFOUR
, another similar ruleset called FiveAlive has been introduced as well, permitting five Monster units to be deployed! 😅
The Battle
While fulfilling my responsibilities in the Splinterlands scholarship account I have with Balthazar, bltzr-wizard-729, I was able to engage in a battle that involves the FABFOUR
ruleset. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

To begin, let us take a closer look at the ruleset governing this battle. Firstly, there is the Broken Arrows ruleset, which prohibits any Range attacking units from joining the battle. Following that, we have the Odd Ones Out ruleset, which exclusively allows Monsters with an odd mana cost to participate. Lastly, the main highlight of this week's challenge is the FABFOUR
ruleset, which we have extensively covered in preceding sections. The battle imposes a mana restriction of 44 and prohibits the use of Water, Earth, and Death Splinters.

Summoner, Grandmaster Rathe
Aside from the Unprotected ruleset, the inclusion of Grandmaster Rathe in your team can significantly bolster the team's endurance in battles. Through his synergistic +1 Armor and Void Armor abilities, the Summoner provides crucial defensive support. Moreover, his Amplify ability is often employed to effectively counter opponents' abilities such as the Counterspell, Thorns, and Return Fire. His defensive prowess was the main factor in selecting him as the Summoner for this specific battle! ✌️

First Position, Uriel The Purifier
Uriel The Purifier stood out as an excellent choice for the main tanker role, boasting remarkable Health and Armor stats. With the added advantage of the Flying ability, there was a 25% chance for Uriel The Purifier to dodge attacks from Monsters without this trait. Additionally, its Heal ability proved invaluable, replenishing up to 4 Health points per round. This, coupled with its already formidable Health, rendered it a dependable and resilient tank throughout the entirety of the battle! 💪

Second Position, Iziar
Iziar holds a pivotal position in my lineup, playing a crucial role in the success of my strategy. Unlocking its full potential at Level 3, which I was fortunate to achieve with 2 copies of Gold Foil, is imperative as it grants access to the Martyr ability. With its Taunt ability, I can strategically place Iziar between the Monsters I aim to strengthen upon its demise. Moreover, its impressive durability, owing to its high Health and Void ability, solidifies its position as a resilient presence on the battlefield! 😎

Third Position, Djinn Renova
Every time I opt for the Life Splinter, Djinn Renova consistently earns a spot as one of my preferred cards in the lineup. Its notable Magic damage, paired with respectable Health and Speed stats, establishes it as a dependable choice. What truly distinguishes Djinn Renova is its Triage ability, which becomes invaluable when I position Iziar (refer to Second Position) in the rear line. This arrangement enables Djinn Renova to effectively Heal my team, ensuring their health and peak performance throughout battles. 😝

Last Position, Adelade Brightwing
Including Adelade Brightwing in my lineup is essential for my strategy to succeed. The Resurrect ability holds significant role in the battle, especially when considering the potential double stat boost it could provide via the Martyr ability if Iziar happens to be the Resurrected unit. Additionally, the Repair ability synergizes perfectly with the +1 Armor buff from Grandmaster Rathe, effectively bolstering my team's survivability on the battlefield! 😁
The Analysis

In a battle governed by the FABFOUR
ruleset, it is certain that each player can only deploy a maximum of FOUR
units in their lineup. With a generous mana capacity of 44 for this encounter, one might anticipate facing formidable Monsters with high mana costs, typically armed with powerful attacks!
However, what took me by surprise was encountering the Helios Matriarch Summoner on the opposing side, which allowed for the inclusion of a Gladiator Monster in their lineup! This certainly wasn't a lineup I had anticipated when preparing for the battle! 🤔
Despite the unexpected lineup from my opponent, their luck seemed to falter when facing off against my well-prepared team, which boasted high resistance to Magic, thanks to the Void Armor ability of Grandmaster Rathe and Iziar's Void ability! 😤
Throughout the battle, my team efficiently executed Magic attacks, swiftly neutralizing the tank-like Mantaroth. With their primary tank eliminated, the rest of the opponent's Monsters fell one by one, without posing much of a threat to my sturdy defensive lineup! 🤙
