Summoner Focus
Greetings, fellow Splinterlands players! I'm excited to kick off a series on the Legendary Summoners shown below, as part of the ongoing Social Media Challenge.

IMMORTALIS
, Conqueror Jacek, and Possiblilus The Wise made their debut in the game relatively recently, and they have certainly shaken up the gameplay dynamics, opening up new strategic possibilities in battles.
If you're interested in learning more about these Summoners and how to effectively incorporate them into your own battles, be sure to follow along as I delve into each of them individually in the coming weeks 😜

Today, we'll be focusing on the introduction of IMMORTALIS
from the Earth Splinters. This Summoner costs 6 mana to deploy in battle and brings significant advantages to your team right from the start. It applies a -1 Health debuff to the enemy's monsters and blesses your team with the powerful Void and Shatter abilities 😍
According to Splintercards, there are only 21,982 copies of IMMORTALIS
printed and they are currently trading at the below prices (at the time of writing) for both the Regular and Goil foil copies! 🤑

Rulesets and Abilities Focus
IMMORTALIS
,particularly when confronted with the following rulesets.

Of the 3 rulesets mentioned, IMMORTALIS
is most commonly encountered in battles featuring the Wands Out ruleset or when the ruleset restricts the use of only Earth Splinter monsters.

When opting for IMMORTALIS
, it is often anticipated that the opponent will field a formidable array of Magic-based units. Thus, it is advisable to pair IMMORTALIS
with a monster possessing the Silenced ability within your lineup. This strategic combination nullifies the effectiveness of an opposing Magic unit with 2 Magic damage, as the Silenced ability reduces Magic by 1 and the Void ability halves (rounded up) Magic damage, effectively neutralizing it ✋
The Battle
In my alt account, jimbei, I was able engage in a battle that showcased the effectiveness of using IMMORTALIS
especially in a Wands Out ruleset. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.

Let's begin by analyzing the two rulesets applied in this battle. The initial rule is the Taking Sides ruleset, which restricts the usage of Neutral monsters in combat. Following that, the Wands Out ruleset which we have already discussed extensively. The battle imposes a mana cap of 32 and prohibits the use of the Water and Dragon Splinters.

Summoner, IMMORTALIS
Considering the existence of the Wands Out ruleset, it was evident to me that choosing IMMORTALIS
was the logical decision. With the restriction of using only units with Magic attacks in the battle, the Void ability bestowed by IMMORTALIS
becomes essential in establishing a robust magical defense against the opponent's monsters ✌️

First Position, Regal Peryton
Regal Peryton is a widely utilized card in the Earth Splinters and remains suitable for all leagues. Since my Silver League days, I have relied on this monster consistently. In this particular battle, I have selected Regal Peryton to be placed in the first position due to its comparatively higher Health and Speed compared to the other units in my lineup 😁

Second Position, Queen Mycelia
Much like Regal Peryton, Queen Mycelia is a staple in my lineup whenever I opt for the Earth Splinters. While its Protect ability that gives +2 Armor buff is usually highly advantageous in battles, it becomes less relevant in this particular scenario where the ruleset focuses on the use of Magic units exclusively. Nevertheless, Queen Mycelia earned its spot in the lineup thanks to its valuable Triage ability, which provides support to the backline, particularly benefiting the Mycelic Slipspawn 🤝

Third Position, Goblin Psychic
In the current battle setup, Goblin Psychic takes on the role of the MVP, effectively supporting and complementing IMMORTALIS
. The Silence ability diminishes the enemy's Magic damage, which is then further mitigated or completely nullified by the Void ability that IMMORTALIS
granted the team with. Moreover, Goblin Psychic boasts additional valuable abilities like Tank Heal and Affliction, both of which proved essential for this particular battle 😊

Last Position, Mycelic Slipspawn
Despite being positioned in the backline, Mycelic Slipspawn assumes the role of my primary tank due to its Taunt ability, redirecting all enemy attacks towards itself. Placing it in the backline alleviates some of its burdens since the enemy monster in the first position is unable to participate in attacking it. Additionally, I can utilize Queen Mycelia's Triage ability to effectively heal Mycelic Slipspawn, enhancing its durability 💪
The Analysis

In this battle, my opponent and I both took up a more defensive approach in navigating the battle with the Wands Out ruleset. My opponent chose Grandmaster Rathe as their Summoner, providing a +1 Armor buff that complemented the Void Armor ability that it also grants the team with. Additionally, these armor (that could prevent Magic damages due to the Void Armor ability) are being restored by having Adelade Brightwing's Repair ability. Similar to my setup, my opponent places Iziar that possesses both the Taunt and Void ability in the backline and supported it with Djinn Renova's Triage ability 👍
I must admit that I was impressed by my opponent's well-thought-out strategy and the synergy among their chosen lineup. However, their efforts fell short against my team that was led by the **IMMORTALIS
Summoner 😅
As mentioned earlier, Goblin Psychic played a pivotal role in this battle, proving to be overwhelming with its range of abilities. The combination of Silence and Void abilities nullified Iziar's Magic attack, while Adelade Brightwing and Djinn Renova only inflicted minimal Magic damage. Moreover, the Affliction ability applied to Iziar prevented Djinn Renova from healing through its Triage ability 🤘
