Ruleset Focus
In this week's edition of Battle Mage Secrets, we shall dive into the WANDS OUT
ruleset. This rule mandates that only Monsters with Magic attacks can participate in the battle. The WANDS OUT
ruleset imposes substantial restrictions on your Monster selection, excluding not only Melee and Ranged Monsters but also those without any attacks whatsoever therefore limiting the amount of options that is available 😖

The Battle
In my alt account, jimbei, I was able to engage in a battle that involves the WANDS OUT
ruleset. To get right into the action, the battle link can be found here. Otherwise, do read on as I go into more detail regarding the lineup and fight.
Let's begin by taking a closer look at the ruleset governing this battle. It's a relatively simple battle with just two rulesets in play. The primary focus of this week's challenge is the WANDS OUT
ruleset, which we've explored in detail in previous sections. Additionally, we have the Explosive Weaponry ruleset, which bestows the Blast ability upon all Monsters at the beginning of the battle. The battle comes with a mana limit of 20 and restricts the use of the Fire and Water Splinters.
Summoner, Immortalis
Given the presence of the WANDS OUT
and Explosive Weaponry rulesets, it became clear to me that selecting Immortalis as my Summoner was the most strategic choice. In a battle where only units with Magic attacks are allowed, Immortalis's Void ability takes on a crucial role in providing a strong magical defense against the opponent's monsters. This includes negating the Blast damage as well, making it a solid pick for this battle! ✌️
First Position, Regal Peryton
The Regal Peryton has proven to be a versatile and dependable card within the Earth Splinter, making it a staple choice in my lineup throughout my journey in various leagues. Its consistent performance and adaptability have made it a top pick for me. In the context of this battle, I strategically placed the Regal Peryton in the first position. At 5 mana cost, it is well-justified by its impressive attributes, including higher Health and Speed compared to the other Monsters in my lineup! 😁
Second Position, Goblin Psychic
In this battle, the Goblin Psychic emerges as the standout performer, playing a pivotal role in synergizing with and enhancing Immortalis's effectiveness. Its Silence ability reduces the enemy's Magic damage output, a perfect complement to Immortalis's Void ability, which further minimizes or completely negates incoming Magic damage for the team. Beyond this, Goblin Psychic brings additional valuable abilities into the mix, including Tank Heal and Affliction, both of which hold crucial importance in this battle 😊
Last Position, Spirit Hoarder
Due to the constrained mana cap, my final choice for the lineup is the Spirit Hoarder hailing from the Neutral Splinter. While the Blind ability doesn't come into play in the WANDS OUT
ruleset, the Triage ability it possesses holds significant value in this particular battle scenario. With Triage, the Spirit Hoarder can provide Healing support to the backline units, whether it's to counteract Blast damage received or to mend any damage caused by Magic Reflect from the opponent's team! 😎
The Analysis
Considering the presence of the WANDS OUT
and Explosive Weaponry rulesets in this battle, my opponent had set up an effective lineup to cover various aspects of combat. Djinn Muirat, equipped with Void Armor and Magic Reflect abilities, served as a sturdy tank and counter-attacker. In the second position, the Revealer boasted the Reflection Shield ability, rendering it impervious to Blast damage. Additionally, the opponent wisely chose Thaddius Brood as their Summoner, capable of bestowing a -1 Magic debuff on my lineup 👍
However, victory in this battle was almost instantaneous due to a substantial power gap between our Summoners caused by the battle rulesets. Immortalis from my team was exceptionally well-suited for this battle, enhancing my entire lineup with the Void ability. This was further reinforced by the Silence ability from Goblin Psychic, rendering the enemy's attacks inconsequential. An intriguing highlight of the battle was the Shatter ability granted by Immortalis, allowing my team to swiftly strip Djinn Muirat of its Armor, rendering the Void Armor ability utterly useless 😅
