Fire & Regret ruleset
Description:
All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle. Enemy units that attack with ranged attacks receive damage back.
Damage returned is equal to damage of the attacker divided by 2, rounded up.
Ranged attack units with the Reflection Shield ability do not take damage from reflected magic attacks.
The Amplify ability increases damage.
The Battle Ruleset
Fire & Regret: All units receive the Return Fire ability at the start of the battle.
Up to Eleven: All Monsters have the Amplify ability.
This is a middle mana ruleset game and almost every color is available to play, except the Dragon Splinters. There is a wide variety of Splinters to choose from and I think I will choose one of my favorite one with the best Summoner (beside Yodin) in the game. 😀
The Equalizer ruleset will increase all the monsters health for the same level, so it is much easier to use monsters whom has naturally low health.
The Fire & Regret and the Amplify ruleset is an interesting combination, and will completely makes the ranged attack monsters useless, because they will take increased reflected damage back to themselves if they attack their target. 😏
My Team Composition
As I said before Alric Stormbringer is my all time favorite summoner, because he cost only 3 mana and he gives plus one magic attack to all of his monsters and on top of that the Water monsters are one of the best in the whole game especially if you want to use magic attack monsters.
I used the Lord Arianthus as my tank, because he has all the abilities, which reflects damage back to his attackers. It is irrevelant who is going to attack him they will take an increased reflected damage back thanks to the Amplify ability from the ruleset.
The Djinn Oshannus is one of the best Water monster, because he works as tank and a damage dealer as well.
He is very good in this battle, because he has a lot of speed and the Void ability, which will make him very resilient against any magic attack monsters, while Alric will also boost his magic damage by one.
The Captain Ghost is an amazing monster who is able to switch off the heal on his target if he is lucky enough to trigger that, which is 50%. He has three magic attack damage, which will be increased to four from Alric, so he will be an amazing damage dealer.
The Spirit Miner will be an excellent support monster, who also has magic attack. He has the Swiftness and Blind ability, which means that he will increase the speed of all of his friendly monsters by one and the Blind will give an extra chance for the enemy melee and ranged attack monsters to miss their targets.
The Ruler of the Seas is the absolut damage dealer for all my games using Alric, because he has one of the best ability in the game, which is the Blast. He cost only 6 mana and he has three magic attack damage, which will be increased by Alric further to four. The Blast ability means that he will damage the other two monsters as well next to his target.
On his level 2 he will receive the Swiftness ability, which means that he will increase the speed of all of his monsters by one to make them dodge more against the enemy melee and ranged monsters and to attack quicker in every round.
The Phantom of the Abyss is a very good guardian at the end of my backline to protect it from Sneak attack monsters. He has a lot of magic damage and a lot of abilities to boost his evade, which is paired with his high speed, so as long as my opponent is bringing melee and ranged attack monsters he is quite good.
The Demoralize will reduce the melee attack of the enemy monsters, so it is worth rent or buy him on level 2.
The Battle

My opponent strategy was a pretty strong one, because he wanted to kill my backline first and he wanted to take advantage of the Bloodlust ability on his Katrelba who is a Gladiator card.
Luckily my opponent picked the Dumacke Orc as his tank, which is amazing against any melee and ranged attack monsters, but he was quite useless against my magic attack monsters, so he died in the first round.
My Phantom was qutie good, because he dodged all the Sneak attacks in the first round, so my monsters could start focusing on their Magic Mushroom in the second round.
The Magic Mushroom had the Silence ability, which reduced our magic attack by one, but the damage of my team was exactly enough to kill him and our damage regained their power.
In the third and fourth round my team killed three of their monsters and their Sneak attack monsters couldn't land a hit on my Phantom. 😉
Do you like Fire & Regret? Why or why not?
I like it, because it helps to build a strategy around it and many times my opponents are not paying enough attention to it and it will be eaisier to win those battles.
