Hey Splinterlands people! After being away for a little while from my beloved Splinterlands (you know, becoming a parent might be pretty time-consuming!), I'm back with another Share Your Battle Weekly Challenge.
What I found is a perfect healthy game, with a lot of developing going on, including a marketing partnership with Imagine Dragons. Can you imagine Splinterlands material being shown before ID concerts? Crazy.
After the Chaos Legion earthquake, it took me a little to learn how to master the new cards and to understand which cards are worth investing in. I'm now fully focused on upgrading Chaos Legion Summoners, to get some of them at least at level 5. Not having high level summoner was a real bottleneck for me in the past, and I don't want to see this happen again.
One of the splinters I'm focusing the most on is Fire, with my Tarsa already being at level 3: as a direct consequence, I'm also upgrading a lot of Fire cards, starting from the cheapest one, Lava Spider being on them.
This card, the main theme of this week challenge, immediately caught my attention because it was a perfect fit for my Yodin Zaku in mid-mana cap battles, becoming a devastating weapon with Snipe Ability!

The dwarven warrior crept his way towards a long stretch of stone corridor. It had taken him months to find this secret entrance within the dense jungle. A hideout for supporters of the Chaos Legion. He intended to destroy them all and make safe the area once again.
He made his way silently into the corridor, gripping his dagger tightly. But as he trekked further into the darkness, he felt the heat increase. A heavy frown crossed his features. That wasn't right. Why was it getting so hot?
He turned a corner and stifled an alarmed cry. Crisscrossing the corridor were strands of spiderwebs that glowed red hot. He brought his dagger up, but it was too late. A searing pain stabbed into his back. He was unconscious by the time the burning web was wrapped around him.
MY STRATEGY
As I mentioned before, this Lava Spider is just the perfect fit for my Yodin Zaku standard lineup, which I often use in mid-mana cap battles (especially when mana cap is between 26 and 32).
Yodin Zaku provides an enhanced Ranged attack combined with Blast ability, really a devastating combo.
When using this lineup I always try to protect the second line by using a solid tank like Living Lava, followed by a Furious Chicken to steal one attack from my enemy.
With Zaku I often tend to use Zalran Efreet, which gains a lot of power from Blast ability combined with Life Leech (if you are lucky, its health keeps growing by 2 every round, and you'll find yourself with a second tank.
I completed my lineup with low mana ranged attack cards: Goblin Fireballer, our Lava Spider and my usual buddy Halfling Alchemist.
I was a little bit unlucky because I immediately lost my Zalfran (damn, that random attack ability introduced by Chaos Legion really provides some plot twists to battles) but at the and I was able to overcome my enemy and Lava Spider played a huge role in my winning.
