Hey everyone!
I’m excited to share a little about my journey in the blockchain and gaming space, particularly as a node provider for Splinterlands and Hive. It’s been an incredible ride so far, and I’d love to take you through how I got here, what I’ve learned, and how you can support me in this adventure.
My Introduction and Experience
My journey into the world of blockchain and crypto began in July 2021 when I discovered Splinterlands. It was my first positive encounter with cryptocurrency, and I was instantly hooked. At first, I was just someone who enjoyed playing the game and earning rewards without really owning much. But after a few months, I found myself deeply immersed in the thrill of collecting, trading, buying, and selling cards. It became more than just a game—it was a passion.
I still remember the excitement when SPS (Splinterlands’ governance token) was introduced and started being distributed as rewards. From day one, I’ve been a firm believer in SPS. I’ve consistently bought more and staked every single token I’ve earned, never selling a single one. Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to say I’ve accumulated nearly 2 million SPS in my staking account! It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m looking forward to growing that number even more in the future.
Expanding into Node Operations
At the end of last year, I decided to take my involvement in the blockchain space to the next level by running nodes for Hive-Engine and Hive. It was a new challenge, but I quickly found myself diving deep into the technical aspects, troubleshooting issues, and helping others get their nodes up and running.
I’ve also been doing similar work within the Splinterlands community, collaborating with a small team to support the ecosystem. Over time, I’ve helped several players set up their own nodes or offered to host nodes for them. While I don’t offer hosting services to everyone, I’m always happy to help with questions or provide guidance. If you ever need assistance, feel free to reach out to me on Discord—I’m always around to lend a hand.
My Node Setup & Specs
For those curious about the technical side of things, here are the specs of my node setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D
RAM: 128 GB
Storage: 2x 1.92 TB Drives
Yes, it’s definitely overkill for most requirements, but I’m also running my Hive-Engine Node and Hive Node on the same machine. I believe in providing reliable and high-performance services, and this setup ensures that everything runs smoothly.
Why You Should Vote for Me:
I’ve been an active member of the Splinterlands community for over 4 years now. Many of the tools and services I initially developed for personal use are now publicly available for everyone to benefit from.
I’m also involved in Hive-Engine, where I’m always ready to step in and help whenever issues arise. I currently run a node for Hive-Engine as well, contributing to the network’s stability.
I also provide liquidity to Hive-Engine and actively serve as a market maker, helping to ensure a smooth and efficient trading experience for everyone in the ecosystem.
Together with @endecs, we’ve worked tirelessly to deliver a backup service in record time, which you can access at backup.bamlolx.de. Additionally, I’m very active in the validator community, always looking for ways to assist.
One of the key needs I identified was the ability to receive notifications—especially for missed blocks, which can be critical for validators. To address this, we developed a notification service that alerts users about missed blocks, incoming votes, and removed votes. You can find and use this service on our Discord server, and I hope it makes your experience smoother and more efficient.
Your vote means a lot to me and is a true appreciation of the work and support I’ve contributed to the SPS Chain. Thank you so much for your support—it motivates me to keep pushing forward and improving the ecosystem for all of us!
Cheers,
Bamlolx
