Introduction
This week the cleanse ability. Not that often used. When Noxious Fumes in in play most of the time you can expect also a monster with cleanse.
In my opinion a very niche ability, mainly because only the first position is cleansed. Secondly your opponent has to have a monster that has a negative effect ability like poison then that also needs to hit which is also not always the case.
Ability
Removes all negative effects on the Monster in the first position on the friendly team.
Negative status effects include: affliction, blind, demoralize, halving, headwinds, poison, rust, slow, snare, stun, weaken, silence
Note: Cripple is not able to be cleansed
Note 2: If i'm not mistaken bloodlust can be cleansed, you won't see it often and i could not find it in the official documentation

Synergies / strategy
Abilities benefits
Heal - I like to use it in combination with other heal monsters so the cleanse can take down for example the poison and heal can give back some health.
Taunt - a bit debating if it needs to be here. You control the battle where your enemy monster will attack first. This is only beneficial when you put the taunt monster in the front else the cleanse will have no effect.
Ruleset benefits
Noxious Fumes - in this rule set it is important to play cleanse monster and immunity monsters.
Healed Out - No healing monster may be used so when a an monster is poisoned or so cleanse it slows down the process of dying, just like an heal monster could give it extra health to stay alive longer..
Select / favorite
Only two card that is own have this cleanse ability, I thought it was more.
Both are maxed 😍
No hard decision the River nymph is much better and als suited for other situations.
The Scabo chemist i only use with the Noxious Fumes rule set.
The extra speed in combination with a lux or kelya is good and the river nymph als has some attack damage.
Strategy
This week a bit of difficulty to find a match with the River Nymph.
This battle I expect some silence because we need to play magic only monster.
Therefor the river nymph might be beneficial in this case.
Rulesets
Are You Not Entertained?:
This is new rule set just a few seasons on the battlefield. When this is in play you might select one gladius card. always nice when you can select earth with Quora Towershead.
Wands Out:
Only magic monster may be selected.
Holy Protection:
First attack will be absorbed.
The Lineup

Card | Reason |

![]() | Quix is selected because I want to play the chaos dragon |

Void Dragon (lvl 3)
Because the high speed/phase and flying this is my front monster. Hoping on a lot of misses. The void is also very important to reduce the damage
Djinn Oshannus (lvl 4)
Again phase and void with a nice damage output.
River Nymph (lvl 8)
When a silence monster is use this will be cleared for the first monster.
Chaos Dragon (lvl 3)
Important monster in this lineup random target monster with blast.
Venari Wavesmith (lvl 8)
Mainly because of the 3 damage. the extra protect is useless with magic monsters only.

Rounds
Start :
Tough opponent -1 magic and silence. The silence i expected not the -1 magic. When a void monster is in the front I will do no damage 😱.
The only thing I see as advantage is my scattershot so I take down the Elven Mystic with silence. And most of my opponent monster are slow so expect many missed 😁.
Round 1:
Silence and weaken are cleanse and many many misses. Lol silence cleansed and still only one damage lol.
This battle can take a while.
Also when Doctor Blight hit his poison this can be cleansed by my River Nymph.
Round 2:
That magic reflect hurts. again 3 misses.
Round 3:
5 misses. One monster down also my health for the River Nymph and Venari Wavesmith are down to 1 close call that magic reflect has done its task.
Round 4:
4 misses. not damage performed against my opponent Djinn Oshannus.
Round 5:
5 misses. battle is slowing down
Round 6:
4 misses again. killed Doctor Blight which did not have any luck in landing his poison.
Round 7:
3 misses, did not notice before but also the Elven Mystic does 0 damage against my Void Dragon.
Round 8:
2 damage from Djiin Oshannus. only 2 misses. this battle is slow....
Round 9:
Again Djiin Oshannus strikes again, 1 miss. Only one health left for my void dragon. Will it survive.
Round 10:
3 misses. Unfortunately my Chaos Dragon hits the front position it needs to kill Elven Mystic. Then I can start down some damage against Djiin Oshannus.
Round 11:
Slow so slow again 0 damage done 🤣. Lucky Nerissa Tridawn is missing all her attacks.
Round 12:
Noooo my Void Dragon has died. Chaos Dragon on hits the first position. Still looking strong only need to hit the Elven Mystic.
Round 13:
Finally my River Nymph can cleanse the silence of my Djiin Oshannus now it at least does 1 damage 😁
Round 14:
And there it is we can start doing some damage.
Round 15:
Just one more monster few more round and this is a nice win.
Round 16:
Now it is just a waiting game.
Round 17:
One more round getting tired
Round 18:
That was a nice lengthy battle, but a win with a nice demonstration of the cleanse 😁
Conclusion
Cleanse is very situational ability. Most used with Noxious Fumes rules set.
But also some other battle it might be use full as shown above.
