Introduction
Waiting for what it will be this week. Previously it was somewhat predictable but not anymore, it got random again.
This week we have a look at Rise of the commons. This is one of the rulesets i loved when started with splinterlands. At that time i did not own many legendaries or epic cards.
Now my deck has evolved and I got enough choices to setup a team. Also with rebellion i start to buy the "cheap" common card to get them to a level i can use them.
Current rebellion common/rares i own:
Ruleset
Only common and
rare units may be used in battles.
Summoners are unaffected by this rule.
Official ruleset information from splinterlands: List-of-In-Game-Rulesets
Abilities Synergies / Strategies
Life Leech / Scavenger - Because of the low level units i like unit the gain health in this rule set.
Poison - the change on low health units are greater so poison can become quickly very interesting in dealing some extra damage.
Swiftness/Slow - General rule is you strike first and kill units before it an strike you wins the most battles.
My most played units:
And as you can see in the next I do not use the rebellion often yet in these rule set.
My most played summoners:
Nice see you still can use legendary summoners 😍.
Avoid
Not an direct avoid but I would less likely select units with
Giant killer the chance of units with an cost higher than 10 mana are very slim with only common and rare units I only got 5 of those:
Then there is Forcefield also here again the chance of unit with higher than 5 damage is less with only common and rare units.
Example battle
Lets look for an battle.
Strategy
Medium mana, melee unit can attack from anywhere, no neutral units may be select again neutral summoners can still be selecte. And then only common and rare units.
Because all splinters are available makes it hard to choice from. Often i select water but with this battle i assume my opponent will know that because of my last played battles where with water.
So i switch os life.
Rulesets
Melee Mayhem:
Melee unit may attack from any where good to select bloodlust melee units or units with scavenger that do not need to be in the first position
Taking Sides:
No neutral unit may be selected.
Rise of the Commons:
This week battle challenge. Only common or rare units may be selected.
The Lineup
Summoner
Card | Reason |
---|---|
![]() | With medium mana matches and only common and rare the extra health is important and as described above also the speed is important to strike first with rise of the commons |
Monsters Lineup
#1 | #2 | #3 | #4 | #5 | #6 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|

Blinding Reflector (lvl 8)
I expect some magic unit because they can go past my shield so an reflection shield.
Venari Crystalsmith (lvl 6)
Healer in the second position, a bit risky needs to heal the blinding reflector. I want Vulguine to gain as much health as possible to.
Celestial Harpy (lvl 6)
Already it could attack even without melee mayhem but i want it in because of the opportunity and true strike. This certain to hit.
Vulguine (lvl 6)
Important unit in this strategy it needs to collect as much health as possible to when it get in the front is buffed enough to withstand a few rounds.
Time Mage (lvl 6)
As mention above speed is important to strike first so slow the opponent is almost always an good thing.
Chaos Knight (lvl 8)
I expect some sneak unit that might attack my back so this could protect is a bit with the shield and still possible to attack.

Rounds
Start :
Lets see what my opponent has chosen. Lilly is an strong summoner with the camouflage. This will lead into me only attack from the front. Therefor you can see that my opponent has chosen to setup the strongest units in the front.
Pretty much the same units are selected. One advantage is see i got it the healer, hope that is enough.
Round 1:
Luckily because of the camouflage i quickly killed the Pelacor Conjurer. His Celestial Harpy will kill my weaker units first but i think i have enough health and power to last long enough.
Round 2:
Forgot about the triage of Lilly such a nice summoner that i do not own sadly. But also my healer is doing a great job.
When i have killed Vulguine it will go quickly. My opponent has killed my time mage so i loses my speed advantage.
Round 3:
My opponent is catching up and getting a strong advantage. just one more hit to kill Vulguine. Then the table turns and i got the advantage imo.
Round 4:
I missed the last important health its getting close. I think my blinding reflector will be killed next round.
Round 5:
Now a ranged unit is in the front normally completely useless. Only this is a healer so at least it heals her self that will save the match so my other two units can finish it.
Round 6:
Two missed of my opponent that is great. Now the battle is definitely over one more round.
Round 7:
Victory!!
Conclusion
A pretty similar setup in units. In this battle you can see that one unit can make the difference this time the credits go towards Venari Crystalsmith. Without her heals i would have lost the match.
That's all for this week hope you enjoyed reading this battle report. See you all on the battle field
