In this week's edition of my Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Welcome to the Frontier, I will do something drastically different from my usual battle showcases. Instead of war, I will become a peaceful teacher showing all new players how to most effectively navigate the topic of "Welcome to the Frontier".

Every battle uses Foundation cards you earn through play rather than purchase, so you can jump in with zero investment and still climb the ranks. I still chuckle recalling my first win against a much higher levelled "pay to win" player using nothing but my starter deck — skill truly trumps splurging. By removing the pay to win barrier, Splinterlands guarantees that every victory in Frontier is a testament to your tactics, not your bank balance.

I’ve found myself hoarding energy for weekend grind sprints, then burning through matches in marathon sessions that yield more cards and packs than I ever dreamt possible. This design keeps Frontier focused and fun without trampling on your main play plan, letting you toggle between formats without fear of running dry.

Perhaps the sweetest twist: every Foundation card you snag in Frontier is fully transferable, sellable, and even upgradable, so your hard won collection holds real value on the open market. I turned extra Foundation cards into starter DEC, which funded my first actual pack purchase. It turns out, Frontier winnings can jump start your entire Splinterlands career!
