Hi Everyone! Hope you are well and enjoying the massive changes to Splinterlands with much more to come soon.
I am pretty sure everyone has faced the hottest summoner, Yodin Zaku at whatever league you are in. He is very impressive with +1 to Ranged Attacks & Health. But it’s his Blast Ability that helps him destroy everyone in his wake. Stories about people auto-surrendering when they see him further fuel his lore.

But what if there is a way to defeat him, literally by fighting fire with fire. This is where Pyre comes in, using speed to counter him. The logic is simple, hit him before he hits you and blast everyone to smithereens. Also with speed, comes increased hit miss, so stacking dodge helps tremendously as you will see from the fight. Plus, players who use Yodin typically favour using melee & ranged, so speed will play a very important factor against him.

My Line-up
Serpentine Soldier – Shield, Dodge & Thorns
Serpentine Spy – Opportunity & Poison
Pyromaniac – Sneak & Blast
Flame Imp – Flying & Swiftness
Pyromancer – Blast, Knock Out & Piercing
Spark Pixies – Flying, Stun & Dodge
The idea behind this line-up is that Serpentine Solder will be able to dodge several attacks while my ranged takes out the tanks. Spark Pixies is at the back as the high speed + flying + dodge will help to protect the backline. Pyre & Flame Imp will increase speed by even more in the hope of avoid the blast attacks.

After Round 1, looks like my plan wasn’t going as planned as my Serpentine Spy has died from the blast damage, hopefully Round 2 will see me dodging some hits, if not my tank is gone….

Round 2 went really well with my tank not taking any damage and Yodin lost his Living Lava as well as his Imp Bowman. Things are looking up for now.

No damage for my tank at the end of Round 3 and it looks like I should have my win over Yodin with only one monster lost. I did not even need the dodge from Spark Pixies in the end as my opponent did not have any Sneak monsters. He was important with the Stun ability as it meant the Pyromancer could do double damage.
So what do you all think of this strategy? Is there a similar strategy that you deploy or something completely different?
