New to Splinterlands? Here’s EXACTLY How to Get DEC and SPS Into the Game!
Welcome back Splinterheads! In this episode, I cover a common question posed by new Splinterlands players. This usually comes up after the player has started playing and understanding the basics of the game, and deciding that they like the game and want to progress, they ask "How do I buy SPS and DEC and get it into game?"
I break down the process and cover it in a step-by-step method starting with installing MetaMask and creating an account on Coinbase, all the way through to transferring DEC or SPS into the game.
I felt that this was an important subject to cover, as it directly impacts new players and is an especially tough subject to broach and go over with players who are not used to dealing with cryptocurrency.
The need and usage of the SPS and DEC tokens become more apparent the more new players interact with the game, with SPS needed for staking and DEC needed for many other purposes within the game related to acquiring resources such as cards, land and a long list of other things at this point.
The process is also directly related (in reverse) to how to remove profits from the game according to your personal play style and plan.
EDIT: After a few replies, I felt the need to insert this piece of information that I had not really run into, as I usually transfer and swap small amounts of money. With that said, it has been brought to my attention that you should NOT go directly from Swap.ETH to SPS or DEC due to liquidity. The proper process would be to swap to Swap.HIVE and then go to SPS or DEC. Thanks for those that brought this up.
