Hello again, Splinterlands and Hivers community! We're less than 24 hours away from the end of the season and we're in a frantic race to reach Champion League III, but if we can do it, it would be the first time I've made it this far in the Modern format, and I think with luck I'll be able to position myself well on the ranking table. But getting back to the topic of our community engage challenge of the week, we'll be focusing our efforts on sharing those card combinations whose synergies become a truly overwhelming force.
Hola de nuevo comunidad de Splinterlands y Hivers! Ya estamos a menos de 24 horas del finl de temporada y estamos en una carrera frenética por alcanzar la liga Champion III pero poder lograrlo, sería la primera vez que llego tan lejos en el formato moderno y creo que con suerte podré posicionarme bien en la tabla de ranking. Pero volviendo con el tema de nuestro community engage challenge de la semana, estaremos enfocando nuestros esfuerzos en compartir aquellas combinaciones de cartas cuyas sinergias se convierten en una fuerza verdaderamente avasallante.
One of the abilities that I consider one of the biggest and most fun successes of Splinterlands has been the Weapons Training ability. It allows you to share the same attack type as the card with this ability with other adjacent cards that don't have any type of attack. This has opened the game up to a huge number of strategies and card combinations, and even as I write these lines, I'm still exploring new combinations with cards in the Wild format.
Una de las habilidades que considero ha sido uno de los mayores y más divertidos aciertos de Splinterlands ha sido la habilidad Weapons Training, permite compartir el mismo tipo de ataque que tiene la carta con esta habilidad a otras adyacentes que no tienen ningún tipo de ataque. Esto ha permitido abrir el juego a una enorme cantidad de estrategias y combinaciones de cartas que incluso en estos momentos que estoy escribiéndote estas líneas aun estoy explorando nuevas combinaciones con las cartas del formato wild.

Zyriel/Ferexian Hero/Moxian Rebel
We know that most cards without attacks serve primarily as support, but when they're given an attack type, they undergo a drastic transformation, where the synergies are not only defensive, but now offensive! My favorite cards are Zyriel and Moxian Rebel, but in this post, I want to take this synergy feedback to the limit with another of my favorite melee cards: Kulu Mastermind. Let's begin!
Sabemos que en su mayoría las cartas sin ataques sirven principalmente de apoyo pero al darle un tipo de ataque sufren una drástica transformación en el que ya las sinergias no solo son de tipo defensivas, sino ahora ofensivas! Mis cartas favoritas son Zyriel y Moxian Rebel, pero en este post quiero llevar al límite esta retroalimentación de sinergias con otra de mis cartas melé favoritas: Kulu Mastermind. Comencemos!
Kulu Mastermind
Incorporating non-attack cards into combat/Incorporando cartas sin ataque al combate
When it comes to units with the Weapons Training ability, my favorite unit is undoubtedly Kulu Mastermind. During the time we were receiving these card rewards in chests, it took me a long time to get it to level 2, but it's undoubtedly the most powerful melee unit the Water class currently has. But the most notable thing is that it allows for synergy with two equally exceptional cards: Baakjira and Noa the Just. Let's take a look at the types of synergies that are generated and how they can help us in battle.
Cuando se trata de unidades con la habilidad Weapons Training, mi unidad favorita es sin duda alguna Kulu Mastermind. Durante el periodo de tiempo en el que recibíamos estas cartas rewards en los cofres tardé muchísimo en poder llevarla a nivel 2 pero sin duda es la unidad melé más potente que tiene la clase agua actualmente. Pero lo más destacable es que permite hacer una sinergia con 2 cartas igualmente excepcionales: Baakjira y Noa the Just, veamos a continuación los tipos de sinergias que se generan y como pueden ayudarnos en batalla.

Baakjira and Noa the Just are two cards without any type of attack. When a card like Kulu Mastermind is placed between them, it gives them belligerence, in this case, melee attacks. When I use this combination of three cards, it's mainly to set up a lineup based on evasion. Let's see how it works.
Baakjira y Noa the Just son 2 cartas sin ningún tipo de ataque que al colocar una carta como Kulu Mastermind entre ellas les confiere beligerancia, en este caso ataques melé. Cuando uso esta combinación de 3 cartas es principalmente para configurar una alineación basada en la evasión. Veamos como funciona.
Defensive synergies/Sinergias defensivas
1. Increases maximum health/Aumenta la vida máxima
Let's start with defensive synergies: Strengthen. This ability, granted by Baakjira, increases the maximum health of the entire team by +1, allowing us to withstand a greater number of attacks. One of the advantages of Water-class melee units is their large amount of health, turning virtually our entire roster into tanks that absorb a large amount of damage. With this ability, we ensure our damage resistance is increased.
Comencemos por las sinergias de tipo defensivas: Strengthen, esta habilidad conferida por Baakjira nos aumenta la vida máxima en +1 a todo el equipo lo que nos permitirá soportar mayor cantidad de ataques. Uno de los aspectos que tienen las unidades melé de la clase agua es la gran cantidad de vida convirtiéndolos virtualmente a toda nuestra alineación en tanques que absorben gran cantidad de daño. Con esta habilidad nos aseguramos de incrementar nuestra resistencia al daño.
2. Slow
As I mentioned earlier, our strategy when using these three cards is to achieve a high evasion rate, and in this context, Baakjira grants us a second ability that is undoubtedly very helpful: Slow. With it, we reduce the opponent's speed by -1, giving a card like Noa, who has the Dodge ability, a high chance of evading attacks, which causes the opponent to waste turns trying to hit it.
Como mecioné anteriormente nuestra estrategia cuando uso estas 3 cartas es la de conseguir una alta tasa de evasión y en este contexto, Baakjira nos confiere una segunda habilidad que sin duda es de gran ayuda: Slow. Con ella reducimos la velocidad del oponente en -1 haciendo que una carta como Noa que tiene la habilidad Dodge adquiera una elevada probabilidad de evadir los ataques lo que hace que el oponente pierda turnos tratando de acertarle.
Offensive synergies/Sinergia ofensivas
1. Reach & Trample
Of course, we can forget about the synergies granted by the summoner. In this case, the one we should use most with these cards is Possibilus the Wise, since it grants all our melee units the reach ability, allowing them to attack from the second position, and also the trample ability, which allows us to execute a second attack if the first target is eliminated. These are two abilities that will be very helpful when setting up a primarily melee lineup.
Por supuesto podemos olvidar las sinergia que nos confiere el invocador, en este caso el que más nos conviene usar con estas cartas es Possibilus the Wise ya que les confiere a toda nuestras unidades melé la habilidad reach lo que les permite atacar desde la segunda posición y también la habilidad trample que nos permite ejecutar un segundo ataque si el primer objetivo es eliminado. Estas son 2 habilidades que nos serán de gran ayuda cuando configuremos una alineación principalmente melé.
2. +3 melee damage to non-attacking units/+3 daño melé a las unidades sin ataque
Returning to Kulu Mastermind as the main focus of offensive synergies, we have to add +3 melee attack to both Baakjira and Noa the Just, aided by his weapons training ability.
Volviendo con Kulu Mastermind como eje principal de las sinergias ofensivas, tenemos entonces que ayudado por su habilidad weapons training le añadimos +3 de ataque melé tanto a Baakjira como a Noa the Just.
3. Rust
Noa has an ability that significantly aids our melee lineup strategy: removing the opponent's defenses by 2 points. This facilitates the effectiveness of our attacks, allowing us to break the enemy lineup.
Noa tiene una habilidad que ayuda significativamente a nuestra estrategia de una alineación melé y es eliminar en 2 puntos la defensas del oponente, esto facilita la efectividad de nuestros ataques, permitiendo romper la alineación enemiga.
Battle/Batalla
Everything explained above also depends on the rulesets on the battlefield. For this battle, there are two elements that favor synergies between the cards Kulu Mastermind, Baakjira, and Noa the Just: the first is that defenses are removed from all units, and the second is that all melee units attack from the last position. This way, we place Noa in the last position so that the opponent wastes turns trying to hit her. Below is the link to the battle.
Todo lo expuesto anteriormente depende también de las rulesets que están en el campo de batalla, para esta batalla hay 2 elementos que favorecen las sinergias entre las cartas Kulu Mastermind, Baakjira y Noa the Just: la primera es que se eliminan las defensas en todas las unidades y la segunda es que todas las unidades melé atacan a la última posición. Rounds 1 - 2
In the first round, Noa the Just's evasiveness stood out, although unfortunately the only attack he received was from the Deep Lurker, which poisoned him and knocked him out in the second round. At least it gave us enough time to eliminate the dangerous Gladius card placed in the back position and then Disintegrator, which reduced our melee damage.
En el primer round destaca la evasión de Noa the Just aunque lamentablemente el único ataque que recibió fue del Deep Lurker que lo envenenó y lo dejó fuera de combate en el segundo round, al menos nos dió el tiempo suficiente de eliminar la peligrosa carta gladius puesta en la ultima posición y posteriormente a Disintegrator que reducía nuestro daño melé.
Rounds 3 - 4
In the third round we can see the impact of the trample ability in this battle, Coastal Sentry eliminates the Deep Lurker with a precise attack, killing it and later, with the Trample activated, proceeds to eliminate the Venator Kinjo, thus taking cruel revenge for eliminating our Noa the Just. Eliminating the Venator finally gives us the advantage of striking the first blow and thus Isgald Vost eliminates the enemy Coastal Sentry and finally Arkemis is eliminated by our Coastal Sentry. Victory!
En el tercer round podemos ver el impacto de la habilidad trample en esta batalla, Coastal Sentry elimina de un certero ataque al Deep Lurker dándole de baja y posteriormente con el Trample activado procede a eliminar al Venator Kinjo cobrando así una cruel venganza por eliminar a nuestro Noa the Just. Eliminar al Venator nos da finalmente la ventaja de dar el primer golpe y asi Isgald Vost elimina al Coastal Sentry enemigo y finalmente Arkemis es eliminado por nuestro Coastal Sentry. Victoria!
Well, friends, as you can see, when it comes to cards with synergies, the best options are those with the Weapons Training ability. Giving belligerence to cards that previously only served as support generates a synergistic relationship of boosts that are a great advantage on the battlefield. Kulu Mastermind is just one example; there are many other combinations with Weapons Training that are truly interesting. Bien amigos como pueden ver cuando se trata de cartas con sinergias las mejores opciones están en aquellas cartas con la habilidad weapons training, darle beligerancia a cartas que anteriormente solo servían de apoyo genera una relación sinergísticas de potenciadores que son una gran ventaja en el campo de batalla. Kulu Mastermind es solo un ejemplo de ello existen muchas otras combinaciones con Weapons Training que son realmente interesante, quizás en un próximo post de muestre otros ejemplos de sinergia con esta habilidad.
