The challenge for Quix this week was to win a battle with Deeplurker. This wasn't too much trouble, for while Water is not one of my preferred splinters it has many good cards, and Deeplurker is one of the better ones. His combination of high damage, decent health, and Opportunity makes him a formidable foe in spite of his relatively slow speed.
For this battle Water was the only option for Quix to choose and the mana cap at 29 was decent, so it was natural that Deeplurker would be included in the team.
My opponent invested heavily in the high mana Diemonshark up front but with most of my firepower focused on him he didn't last long into the second round, and in the meantime Deeplurker was busy working on the smaller back line DPS.
Into the third round and my opponent's second row tank went down leaving just a little cleanup left to do.
Fittingly, it fell to Deeplurker to execute the final blow.
Conclusion
When there is enough mana available, it never hurts to have an ugly fish lurking in your back line!
