I want to appreciate the owner of steemmonsters, curators and entire team members for their efforts upon this community. It really helps me in many ways- writing skills, intelligence, wisdom, planning, time management and so on. Splinterlands is indeed a great game for our generation. I have learned many things by playing splinterlands.
This week battle Challenge is using Phantasm to fight battle. I rarely used this monster but I do see it very well and I have it. I leveled up my Phantasm card to level 2 and am looking for ways to level up everything including the rest of my cards.
Phantasm is a common death melee attack monster that has longlife like Methuselah in the Bible and high speed at all levels with zero armor -these characteristics are incredibly good.
Phantasm has three unique abilities that makes it so interesting and good to fight in a battle. They are:
• Retaliate ability: the monsters with such ability have the chance to fight back when it is attack by melee monsters. Though it doesn't fight in all cases because I have used it and believed that it would but unfortunately it doesn't. This ability can only be activated at level 9 which you need up to 300 Phantasm monster.
• Flying ability: sometimes I always looking for monsters that makes earthquake rules be infective in a battle when I sees it. Phantasm is one of the monsters that does that. It also possess the ability to evading melee and ranged attack that do not have flying ability. This ability is activated at all levels.
• Return Fire ability: ability to return half damage done to them when hit by ranged monsters. This returning fire ability can only be activated at level 5 which you need up to 60 cards.
RULE SET
Fog and Eat: Monsters lose the sneak and snipe abilities.
Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners
Mana cap: 20
MY STRATEGY
Winning Strategy:
I did not based my winning strategy on any monster but believed in team work.
Battle strategy:
I used the attacking method from the front because I knew the battle will be too tough at the front since sneaky Monsters are not allowed which often helped me to penetrate at the middle or anywhere.
I used monsters that can attack from front line positions in the battle.

- FURIOUS CHICKEN: I used it here for sacrificial lamb since I have space to filled and it cost me no Mana.
- PHANTASM: This is my main attacking monster in this battle. The major reason I used it here was because of its evading ability of melee and ranged attack and also high speed. It made it to attack very fast than the rest of my Monsters.
- BOOGEYMAN: I needed magic attack with plenty of health to backup my Phantasm if it fails and destroys. It also reduces the speed of opponent monsters. When I searched all my available monsters the most useful in this position was bookeyman. Its accuracy to target opponent's monsters and ability to affect the health directly without reaching the armor.
- UNDEAD ARCHER: I made mistake here, I forgot that the healing abilities was removed. I used this monster to stop any healing abilities monsters'. Archer effort can not be underestimated as it continued attacking by removing 1 Heath at each round.
- HALFLING ALCHEMIST: The combination of Archer and alchemist was so impressive, which made the work easy for Boogeyman and Phantasm so easy. I used it here to break the weapons of opponent.
- COURSED SLIMEBALL: Though I use this monster here for two reasons;
• To delay attack from the back line and
• To fight the last battle; if possible the last opponent monster have one health, because I have won so many battle like that. But none came to pass.
BATTLE RESULT
My Team won the battle at the third round with only furious chicken got eliminated.
DOES YOUR STRATEGY WORKS?
It works perfectly as planned, just like what I said. "Only furious chicken was destroyed." All other monsters were alive.
Phantasm was been attacked and it also fought by attacking back. Phantasm is good to use in a battle with average of 23-19 Mana as attacking monsters without healing ability.
Please I will appreciate if you can share your battle experiences with me because am just 3 months old in splinterlands. I wonder what three months old baby can do when we have experienced people that have been here for long periods of time.
