Conflicts: Fun Lore-Heavy Enagement
Greetings everyone and welcome to another Splinterlands post. This time we are going to be talking about the in game "Conflicts" in Splinterlands and how to engage with them. I personally like how lore and story heavy they have become, they even have their own cinematics. Impressive leaps from last time.
What are they? How do I participate?
Conflicts are events in which the player is able to obtain loot (usually cards) from interacting with a massive bossfight by staking cards and wagons to the fray to deal damage to the boss overtime. All players are participating and trying to take it down together. Only certain types of cards can be used in these conflicts (typically newer cards).
Wagons were obtainable with an outright purchase of DEC in previous conflicts (I thankfully bought one then), but are now craftable or available on the secondary marketplace.
To craft the wagons you need the following resources 2500 Dark Aura, 10000 Stone, 40000 Wood, 4000 Iron.
This isn't the greatest amount of resources in the world to acquire, and you can either do this or buy them on the secondary marketplace (which may fare cheaper in effort/time who knows). There are some players suggesting that wagons can be destroyed etc. I personally don't like this idea as it stands but here is what I have to say on it.
If wagons can get destroyed and need to be repaired this seems like something that might be a resource sink that may be too costly for the general playerbase to participate in. That would be a shame. I do actually think these events are fun even when I can't interact with the game in the way people who whaled into the new set have. I hope the repairing of wagons is a mechanic that isn't implemented too greedily, it's nice to have players see themselves on a leaderboard and the chance to participate. Player engagement does matter here, I know the economy is important aswell. In this case I just hope that balance is achieved in a way that benefits everyone (I'm saying this as a land owners aswell who benefits greatly from the repair kits being greedy).
I need moar wagons! All of them!
I myself will be getting at least about 3 other wagons if I can. Focus my land farming efforts into generating wagon resources/ wagon kit resources. It seems like it may be more useful than farming SPS for the time being. I will need some and there will be a market while conflicts are active, wagons being player created is an opportunity for land owners to actually gain in game value off of their resource gathering (outside of SPS). It's interesting to see.
Talking Tidbits: Wagons are player created?!
Wagons are player created now. It is a very interesting dynamic for the in game ecosystem. Land has to be worked and resources have to be gathered to make the carts to launch the assaults against various skirmishes in the Splinterlands. This adds layers of resource management strategy to conflicts that moreso mimics what a real world conflict would need to expend to actually send forces to fight a great threat. I'm honestly impressed with how far these conflicts have come! It would be nice to see conflicts that allow all cards to get used or only legacy sets or just certain domains. Cards with certain abilities can participate in this conflict etc. etc. There really are a lot of possibilities with this basic card staking concept that could add strategy to the conflict itself. Maybe this eventually leads to the PVE bossfights that have been hinted at and whispered with hushed tones.

Conflictos: Diversión y una gran interacción con la historia
¡Saludos a todos y bienvenidos a otra publicación de Splinterlands! En esta ocasión, hablaremos sobre los "Conflictos" del juego en Splinterlands y cómo interactuar con ellos. Personalmente, me gusta lo mucho que se han centrado en la historia y la historia; incluso tienen sus propias cinemáticas. ¡Un avance impresionante con respecto a la última vez!
¿Qué son? ¿Cómo participo?
Los conflictos son eventos en los que el jugador puede obtener botín (normalmente cartas) al interactuar con un gran jefe, apostando cartas y carros para infligir daño al jefe con el tiempo. Todos los jugadores participan e intentan derrotarlo juntos. Solo se pueden usar ciertos tipos de cartas en estos conflictos (normalmente las más recientes).
Los carros se podían obtener con la compra directa de DEC en conflictos anteriores (por suerte, compré uno entonces), pero ahora se pueden fabricar o están disponibles en el mercado secundario.
Para fabricar los carros necesitas los siguientes recursos: 2500 Aura Oscura, 10 000 Piedra, 40 000 Madera y 4000 Hierro.
Esta no es la mayor cantidad de recursos del mundo para adquirir, y puedes hacerlo o comprarlos en el mercado secundario (que quizás te resulte más económico en esfuerzo y tiempo, quién sabe). Algunos jugadores sugieren que las carretas se pueden destruir, etc. Personalmente, no me gusta esta idea tal como está, pero esto es lo que tengo que decir al respecto:
Si las carretas se pueden destruir y necesitan reparación, esto parece un gasto excesivo de recursos, demasiado costoso para que participe la mayoría de los jugadores. Sería una pena. De hecho, creo que estos eventos son divertidos, incluso cuando no puedo interactuar con el juego como quienes se lanzaron al nuevo set. Espero que la reparación de carros sea una mecánica que no se implemente con demasiada avaricia; es bueno que los jugadores se vean en la tabla de clasificación y tengan la oportunidad de participar. La participación de los jugadores es importante; sé que la economía también lo es. En este caso, solo espero que se logre un equilibrio que beneficie a todos (lo digo como propietario de tierras, que se beneficia enormemente de la avaricia de los kits de reparación).
¡Necesito más carros! ¡Todos!
Yo mismo conseguiré al menos tres vagones más si puedo. Centraré mis esfuerzos en cultivar tierras en generar recursos para vagones o kits de vagones. Parece que podría ser más útil que cultivar SPS por ahora. Necesitaré algunos y habrá un mercado mientras haya conflictos activos. Que los jugadores creen vagones es una oportunidad para que los propietarios de tierras ganen valor en el juego con la recolección de recursos (fuera del SPS). Es interesante verlo.
Curiosidades: ¡¿Los vagones son creados por los jugadores?!
Ahora los vagones son creados por los jugadores. Es una dinámica muy interesante para el ecosistema del juego. Hay que cultivar la tierra y reunir recursos para construir los carros que lanzarán los asaltos contra las diversas escaramuzas en las Tierras Asfaltadas. Esto añade capas de estrategia de gestión de recursos a los conflictos, imitando aún más el gasto que un conflicto real requeriría para enviar fuerzas a combatir una gran amenaza. ¡Estoy realmente impresionado con el progreso de estos conflictos! Sería genial ver conflictos que permitan usar todas las cartas, o solo conjuntos heredados o solo ciertos dominios. Cartas con ciertas habilidades pueden participar en este conflicto, etc. Este concepto básico de apostar cartas ofrece muchísimas posibilidades que podrían añadir estrategia al conflicto. Quizás esto con el tiempo lleve a las peleas contra jefes JcE que se han insinuado y susurrado en voz baja.
