In this new challenge of this week's share, your battle challenge contest splinterlands has chosen a water monster to play with in ranked battles and share our battle experience. Including the battle strategy and the explanation of the lineup players used in the fight. The monster they chose for this week's contest is named DIEMONSHARK. Which is a rare chaos legion monster playing under the water splinter. I've played and won a battle using this monster and my this post is to share my battle report of that particular battle.
DIEMONSHARK
The Diemonshark is a rare monster that plays under the water splinter. This card is from the chaos legion pack series. It consumes 8 mana caps to use in battles. It may seem a lot compared to other monsters, but it's really worth comparing to the abilities this monster possesses. This monster is a melee-attacking monster. And it does not have any special abilities to assist its melee attacking ability. That means this monster can only do its work while positioned in the first position and can only attack from the first place. A monster like this really needs to be strong as hell to keep its position. Because normally all the monsters attack the monster in the first position only if they have special abilities like sneak or snipe. So, the monster in your first position has to be your best defence so that it can stand its position and take damage from all those attacks and still survives the battle. If the monster you're using in the first can not survive at least 3-4rounds, you're done for.
But in this matter, the Diemoshark is a total gem. First of all, comes the health level of this card. This card has a life capacity of 7. Which is surely a huge amount. Not only that, this card has a shield amount of 6. Shields may not work against magic attacks, but they're like an ultimate defence against any type of melee and ranged attack. As an example, let's say your card has 1 shield and it gets attacked by a monster that can deal 5 or more damage at a single time. But, your monster will only lose only that single shield unless the enemy monster has the piercing ability. This feature helps this monster to survive a strong attack easily. And then comes the attacking speed of this monster. Unlike other monsters like this one, the Diemonshark has an attacking speed of 4. Which lets it get the chance to attack before any of the enemy monsters. It helps a lot in the 1v1 situation at the end of the battle.
As an example, let's say both your monster and the enemy monster are on their last life. But, you'll have the chance to win just because your monster has more attacking speed and can attack first. I also like the Trample ability that this monster has. With the help of this ability, it can attack twice if it can kill a monster with its blow. Even if this card costs 8 mana caps to use in battles, in my opinion, this cost is totally worth using it.
Now, let's talk about the battle that I played with this card:
In my battle, I used the water splinter and my opponent used the death splinter. Here's the screenshot from my battle history.
- I used the Kelya Frendil as my summoner from the water splinter. This summoner is a card from the chaos legion series. The speciality of this summoner is that this summoner can increase the attacking speed and shields of all friendly monsters by +1. You can now see how this summoner assisted my Diemonshark to become stronger and helped me to win the battle.
My Lineup

As you can see in the screenshot of my lineup, all my monsters have increased shields and attacking speed with the help of the summoner I used. Using the right summoner in the right place is really important. In my case, using this summoner with this lineup increased my winning chance at least 40-50%.
In my first position, I used the Diemonshark. I already explained why a player should use this card in the first position and I think that explains my reason behind using it here in the frontline.
But, unlike my logic, you can see me using the Ice Pixie in the 2nd position with only 1 life level. The reason behind this is the flying ability of this card. With this ability, this card can dodge most of the melee and ranged attacks. And can survive 2/3 attacks even with this 1 life and the shield increased that chance. But, this time it wasn't in its luck. Because my opponent had magic attacking monsters and as you know magic attacks can't be dodged and what's even worse is they can penetrate any amount of shields.
Then I used the Deeplurker. One of my favourite monsters. The main reason is the opportunity ability of this monster. With that, this monster also has a life capacity of 6 and an attacking speed of 2 which was increased to 3 with the help of the summoner I used. The opportunity ability helps this monster target and take down enemy monsters that have the lowest life of all. My opponent's Life Sapper can be a great example of this. This monster may cost a little mana and have a low life capacity. But, can be extremely dangerous with its life leech ability and magic attack. But, my Deeplurker can be the Grim Ripper to them.
I actually used the Kulu Swimhunter first which you can see at the end of the lineup. I use this monster because it costs only 4 mana caps to use in battles and yet has the damaging ability of 2. And as it is a ranged attacking monster, I tend to use it in the end. After using it, I still had 2 mana caps left to use. And it was then I decided to use the Xenith Archer. I used the Xenith Archer before it so that in a situation like where all my monster dies, my Kulu Swimhunter can have the chance to through at least a single hit. Because you know that ranged attacking monsters can not attack from the first position. In that scenario, the Xenith Archer would come in the first position and my Kulu Swimhunter would have a chance to attack while standing in first place.*
Strategy:
My strategy was to hold the attack with my Diemonshark and at the same time kill some enemies especially the enemy monster in the first place using this card. My other monsters especially the Deeplurker and the Kulu Swimhunter would finish up the other enemy monsters. It was a tough battle and the enemy even almost won. But, in the end, I was able to secure my win. Thanks to my summoner, Diemonsharrk and my strategy.
