The Ruleset

- Rulesets - Counterspell, Ferocity & Equal Opportunity
- Mana Cap - 53
- Active Elements -
Here's my starting lineup
Summoner: Tarsa

- With the ruleset and element pick that I got I knew I could not play hard magic based comp as Counterspell
- Also I felt like playing a ranged comp would have let me in disadvantage as Equal Opportunity was active
- So in my case I went with fire element and Tarsa as my summoner because I wanted to go with heavy melee based comp and Tarsa was the perfect summoner to blend it all together with his +1 melee and +1 hp
- All that said I also felt like my enemy had the same idea so when building my team I had that in mind
1st Position: Forgotten One

- Starting off my team with Forgotten One
- Main reason I picked Forgotten One here was that he had great stats all around
- He also had one quite strong ability being Immunity in case my enemy decides to play any Poison monster
- Sadly I did not have a great monster with Shield so Forgotten One had to do
- Immunity - Provides immunity to magic debuffs and Cripple
2nd Position: Molten Ogre

- Molten Ogre was the first unit in my master plan for this team and countering my enemy
- For 9 mana his stats were not the greatest but that did not matter at all
- As the only thing I was after was his amazing ability Demoralize
- Also as Equal Opportunity was active all of my backline melee monsters were able to attack and not just stand there
- Demoralize - -1 melee power to all enemy units
3rd Position: Disintegrator

- The trail continues with Disintegrator
- As the previous the main thing I was after was Demoralize
- Sadly even tho 2 level up on Molten Ogre his stats still sucked for being a 7 mana cost monster
- Which was good was that he also had the Trample ability which made him possible deal at least little more damage
- Demoralize - -1 melee power to all enemy units
- Trample - After using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position
4th Position: Grum Flameblade

- Now came my main damage dealer for this team
- What I liked most about Grum Flameblade was him high stats and the Bloodlust ability
- The only sad thing was that most of him mana cost was waisted on two almost pointless ability Void Armor and Void as my enemy most likely was not going to play any magic damage monsters
- And for second being a 11 mana cost monster he only had 1 speed but I was hoping he might get some fast take downs with his Bloodlust ability
- Bloodlust - +1 to all stats after dealing a killing blow
- Void Armor - Magic damage hits armor before health
- Void - 50% less damage (rounded up) from magic attacks or 0 damage from magic attacks of 1 power
5th Position: Emberguard

- Now comes my most scary pick so far
- As Counterspell was active playing a magic monster was quite a risky play
- The only thing why I did play him was that he had the Demoralize ability which brings my total Demoralize count to 3
- That meant that if my enemy decides to play anything other than melee based comp I was most likely going to lose this battle as a large part of my mana cap was spent on countering my enemy playing melee monsters
- Demoralize - -1 melee power to all enemy units
6th Position: Dumacke Orc

- And for last but not least was Dumacke Orc my backline tank for this battle
- Dumacke Orc was excellent backline tank in this type of battle as Equal Opportunity was active and therefor all of my enemies backline melee monsters were going to attack him
- And even tho Dumacke Orc did not have the best tank stats his abilities made him so strong against the possible full melee enemy team as he had Shield which made him stay alive for a long time and Retaliate which made him an amazing damage dealer
- Shield - 50% less damage (rounded up) from physical attacks or 0 damage from physical attacks of 1 power
- Retaliate - 50% chance to counterattack successful melee attacks, even if defeated
Starting board

- Already after seeing the starting board I was confident I would win for two main reasons
- Firstly because I had higher level monsters on my board
- And secondly because my enemy played exactly into my counter play
- The only sad thing was that my enemy also played two Demoralize abilities which was going to make this battle a long one for sure
- But my predictions could still be off by a mile so lets start the battle and have a look
Here's how the battle went
1st & 2nd Round

- After the first two rounds my board was still fully intact and running down my enemies board
- As of my enemy the story was not that great
- In the first round he lost his only ranged monster but I think like he was fine with it as he was a Martyr monster
- But in the second round my enemy lost his first tank monster which now opened the doors to his backline
- But anything could still happen so lets keep watching
3rd & 4th Round

- Next two rounds we kind of traded one to one
- While my enemy finally managed to take down my backline tank I took down his Protect monster lowering the shield amount of his remaining monsters
- And on top of that the take down that I got on his monster was with my Grum Flameblade and his Bloodlust gaining him his first stack
- Lets hope for the best and keep watching
5th & 6th Round

- The next two rounds changed to board a lot
- As I started to eliminate his Demoralize monsters my team gained a lot of lost melee damage and that made the battles end real fast
- As far as my team goes he finally managed to take down my second monster which was the magic monster who basically killed himself to the Counterspell ruleset
- But I did not mind that at all as both of the take downs that I got were Bloodlust take downs buffing my Grum Flameblade to 8 melee damage in total
- Now I just needed to wait for the start of the next round and then face my victory
7th Round

- It took me 1 attack to kill my enemies last standing monster and that also was a Bloodlust take down ending him on 9 melee damage for this battle
- After his Goblin Mech had fallen I took the victory

Summary
- This battle was definitely heavily one sided but still fun to watch
- The strategy to take away from this battle is the basic look at the ruleset, think what your enemy might wanna play with and then counter it
- In this battle I totally predicted my enemy playing melee based comp and I countered it with 3 Demoralize abilities making this battle real easy
- The only down side to this strategy is that if your enemy does not go with the type of attack you tried to counter you are going to lose most of the times as you are wasting a lot of the mana cap to playing pointless abilities that do nothing
